where is the setting to delete the cookies and files on shutdown temp?

I remember a button control to remove all cookies and temporary files at the end of each session. I can't find it any longer--where it went? I can't believe that you must manually remove the files to keep the crap out on your computer now. 17.0.1 running. for windows xp family.

See:

Note that compensation "Preferences of Site" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, windows pop up, installation of software and passwords.

If you use clear recent history to clear the output cache while Firefox does not like what disk cache: cache page and "Preferences/Options > advanced > network" shows (no entry for the use of the disk cache).

This does not mean it is the cache drive is empty or disabled, it is disabled and can still contain data.

You can only clear the disk cache in Firefox by disabling the HRC in this case.

  • Within the last week, that all the folders and files on my hard drive were selected 'read only '.

I unflagged all the folders and files that I share on my home network, however, I am not able to rename them or save them on my PC from my laptop on my wireless network. This has happened since May 12 and I suspect an auto update changed or recover from something.

Running Vista Home Premium SP2 on PC

    Laptop is Windows 7

Thanks for getting back to me Mick!

I did a restore to 5/10 when I had no problem, but the problem persisted.

I'll have to try Norton support. This may be something they did.

In the meantime, I managed to change the names of files by connecting to the PC with the account of my wife who as co-owner had equal rights and the sign of the laptop is its ID as well so it worked, but it isn't always fair.

    Once again, thank you...

  • How delete a wrong password that Firefox always displays; I tried to delete the cookies and the profile, but it does not help.

Firefox allows the filling of forms (for example webmail inlog) but it also shows a bad login (consisting of the login name and password). I want to delete inlog false names to Firefox. I already tried to delete all cookies from this site and deleted the default profile for my Mac applications folder. But still login to webmail options are given. Where can I find the place where are stored the inlog suggestions?

You cannot delete an entry in the dropdown menu with the mouse.

You can do this only with the keyboard.

  • Firefox pulls in the fake site on a name field on my PC, but the right pair on my laptop. Delete history - cookies, temporary files, etc. has not erased the problem.

I changed the forwarding to one of my areas address a week or two ago. When I go on this site on my laptop (on Firefox), it pulls to the right address. On my PC, the old site is one that shot of Firefox in again, when I go on Internet Explorer on my PC the correct site is one that appears. It is apparently a problem with the version of Firefox on my PC that seems to me that Firefox is an absolute pain in the neck by flooding users with constant requests to update later. Very annoying!

Reload Web pages, and ignore the cache.

    • Hold SHIFT and click reload.
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Cmd + Shift + R' (MAC)

Clear the cache and cookies from sites that cause problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Tools > Options > advanced > network > storage (Cache) offline: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".
  • clear the cookies and Max automatically

On my desktop PC which is hoooked to my TV, I have an option to automatically delete cookies and Max closing FF, but on this laptop that option disappeared. I installed FF only a few months back, while it is on my desk for years. This option is now extirpated from new versions?

This is what is displayed under the protection of personal information:

    http://oi42.Tinypic.com/oksn13.jpg

When you choose "Remember history never" then Firefox puts your entire session in private browsing mode. That does not permanently keep cookies between sessions, but I'm not sure the cache. (Logically, that must not be kept either.)

If you want to choose what to save, change the dropdown to "never remember history" to "Use the custom settings for history" and uncheck "always use private browsing mode. Then, you can manage your shutdown options individually.

I use Microsoft Money Deluxe 2006 in Windows 7. The record money in Program files does not list the latest files from backup.
    Where Windows 7 is hidden?

They are stored there where money is set to store.

Your Money data and the backup files should be stored in My Documents or another area that is not protected.

  • Where is the sessionstore.js file in ver41 (Win 10)?

    Hello

I use an extension (FEBE) to back up my browser, as part of this FEBE takes a copy of sessionstore.js. Since I upgraded to win 10 and 41 FEBE Firefox generates an error when you run a backup. (sessionsstore.js not found)

If I look in the C:\Users\michaeltrucker\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\y3vhq0bc.default-1446331514952 the sessionsstore.js is not there. If I close Firefox, and then the file is created. As soon as I open this file disappears from FF? WFT!

If I want to take a copy of the file that contains the info from my session where it is stored while FF is open?

    Thank you

    Michael

Learn about the sessionstore-backups folder. While Firefox is running, you can expect to see:

    • Recovery.js: the windows and tabs in your Firefox session currently live
    • Recovery.bak: a backup copy of recovery.js
    • Previous.js: the windows and tabs in your last session in Firefox
    • Upgrade.js -build_id: windows and tabs in Firefox that was alive at the time of your last update session

When you shut down Firefox normally (that is, it does not crash), recovery.js is removed from this folder and used to create the main level of the profile sessionstore.js file. When you start Firefox, the process is reversed. (I don't know why they decided to do it this way.)

You can copy the places.sqlite file to the new profile for bookmarks and history, and the cookies.sqlite for cookies.

There is also a JSON backup (bookmarks-#-#-_xx.json #) in the bookmarkbackups folder that can be used to restore the bookmarks.

You can also copy the permissions.sqlite for cookie/green exceptions and other exceptions.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
