    Hey, Tiffany:

You can buy any disk SATA II 2.5 "laptop hard for your laptop should not exceed 750 GB.

You have two other options... a drive of 7 200 rpm or a disk of 5 400 rpm.

Choose a drive of 7 200 rpm for optimum performance.

Choose a disk of 5 400 rpm for longer battery life between charges.

You didn't say what size drive came with your PC, so I don't know what you are looking to buy the size.

Here are these two models for your comment...

    7 200 RPM, 320 GB

    5 400 RPM, 500 GB

  • Which hard drive buy for my laptop Toshiba Satellite 15.6 "3 GB HD 320?

After receiving an error of 10-FA12 - 054D and do not recover my laptop to zone out, I believe that I have to buy a new hard drive.

Which hard drive buy for my laptop Toshiba Satellite 15.6 "3 GB HD 320?

You can check the Toshiba site for which specifications you need.  A general rule is to buy something at least two times greater than the one that failed, because the data use and therefore the space doubles every 18 months.

You may want to consider a large enough to allow you to make backups and store in another partition

  • A satellite - which HARD drive should I buy?

What is your suggestion for the repair of hard drive? He has bad sectors according to certain aspects of the program, but I want to be sure that one is useful!

Can you help me brothers? Thank you

    Hello!

Of course, it of Nice to hear some suggestions about HARD drive models, but I think it might be a little difficult if you n t post which laptop model you exactly. ;)

I mean, first of all, there are two interfaces available IDE and SATA HARD drive. On the IDE interface, you have a limit of 128 GB I think and for discs hard SATA are available in different speeds (RPM for example 5400 or 7200 RPM).

So thank you for posting your model laptop and HARD drive, you have right now.

    Good bye

  • HP G72 - b00: which hard drive on laptop HP G72t-b00 interface?

I have a laptop HP G72t - b00 CTO with a few updates that I bought in December 2010. I considered buying an SSD for her to help performance (it keeps well enough yet, but I would like an additional performance for a key task). I read online somewhere (not necessarily good reputation) that the HP - G72 uses the interface Serial ATA-150 for hard drives, which, from my understanding, has a maximum speed of 150 MB/s. I know that the laptop is old, but this technology dates back to 2003 or more and the standard SATA had many improvements 2010. It would be very surprising to me if HP has chosen to use it.

Then... Does anyone know what drive hard interface uses HP G72t-b00?

    Thank you!

    -Tyler

    Hi, Tyler:

Your laptop's hard drive controller has a SATA II (3.0 Gbps) interface.

It features a Mobile Intel 5 series chipset.  They have the support of SATA II disk controllers.

  • Replace the battery and the hard drive or buy a new one?

My 2010 MacBook Pro has stopped working, close and wouldn't start even in safe mode. I brought in a tech support company and I was told that I needed a new hard drive and a new battery, which, as well as data retrieval and transfer would be about $480. I bought my MacBook Pro in 2010 is a little more than 5 years so I guess what is expected. The activity of tech support people told me that, theoretically, the HDD could last even 4-5 years and everything else on that they conducted tests the past. I'm on a budget, and $ 500 is a little money for me to spend, especially if I have to buy a new laptop in a year or two.

If I can get my MacBook with the new hard drive and the battery still 3 to 4 years, I think it will be worth it. So, I ask you your opinion on whether or not it is better for me to replace the hard drive and the battery or buy a new laptop (probably a MacBook Air).

Thanks in advance for your advice!

If you fix the old laptop, you will be able to sell it on Craigslist to help put off the purchase of a new Mac.

Otherwise, it is dead in the water.

  • How do I trouble shoot hard drive and buy more memory and recovery for a HP Probook 4520 s disc?

Well, my new probook was a month, a few days back, I could not boot my laptop which is a Win7 Home Premium 32-bit, after launching the diagnostic system and memory test, my laptop started kicking and I can use it again, but too slow to be a month ago. Here is the screenshot taken after the full system Diagnostics.

The hard drive starts to fail? Will I get a replacement warranty if it failed?

Another problem is that I deleted the recovery partition without creating the recovery disc (stupid me, never thought of that while trying to repartition), HP could provide me with the recovery disk free of costs cause I think I already buy the preload windows 7 when buying?

Last but not least, 2 GB of RAM is a little small, I would like to upgrade to 4 GB (2 GB x 2) can I do it myself or does it need a technician HP to do?

    Hello

Your screenshot it looks like your hard drive is defective and must be replaced - it is certainly covered by the warranty, so you will need to contact HP.  Backup all your files as soon as you can as readers may fail completely very sudden.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

You can also request a set of discs of recovery at the same time - I think they are about $10, but you can get the tax lifted; It can't hurt to try!

You can easily add the memory yourself.  The process is shown starting on Page 60 of your & Maintenance Guide.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite M40-154 (PSM40E) - which HARD drive new can I use?

    Hello community,

need a new HARD drive for my * Satellite M40 154 GR PSM 40th *. The old a HDD is: Toshiba MK8025GAS. The new need Toshiba also, 5400 RPM and 80-100GB capacity.
I already try to find out which is right for my laptop, but I do not understand much about the HARD drives. There are more types, like GSX... But I need one that is compatible with my M40. Pleas help.

    Kind regards.

AFAIK you can use each HARD top of page 120 GB disk because your laptop is a limitation of LBA 28 bits. This means that you can use the top of 128 GB of DISK space.

The new HARD drive should be have an IDE interface and size 2.5. All that s and normally each Toshiba HDD should work with these specifications.

  • Which hard drive internal for Late 2008 MacBook Pro

After a help in this forum, I now need to replace my internal hard drive for my MacBook Pro - towards the end of 2008.

Can someone advise what internal hard drive, I have to buy with up to 1 TB of space, also do I need to change or replacement anything else to take account of this change... ?

Look online and there's nobody with good reviews:

    Hitachi 7K 1000 1000 GB Travelstar HTS721010A9E630 internal

    Hope someone can help

Hitachi (HGST) makes hard drives that I personally support but other brands are also compatible and work very well.  That you selected is a good choice.   This link will give you an idea what is available:

  • Which hard drive Solid State for Satellite Pro L670?

I have a Satellite Pro L670, I need to configure for presentation and having to re - load operating system anyway.

Rather than write the existing drive too much, I thought that it would be best to get a second to adapt instead.
Replace the current (obsolete) rotation drive with a solid state, it seems to me the best way to go.
Has anyone equipped with a hard drive to a Satellite Pro?

For budget reasons, I plan to go for a capacity of 120 GB that will be enough.

However, I've yet to discover at Toshiba they could recommend. Anyone else gone this route?

    Hello

Theoretically, any SATA SSD drive should be compatible because the laptop supports a SATA controller.
But in some cases, it might be possible that an SSD would not be treated properly. In such cases, SDD drive manufacturers provide different firmware updates

So before buying an SSD drive check the support pages of the manufacturers of SSDS for more details would perhaps have a firmware update
