  • Error-insert the disc when try to open the flash drive.

Original title: why connect my USB drive as an external drive.

When the flash drive is plugged into the USB port, it seems that it will be added as a flash drive, but then the following equipment added window indicates that an external hard drive has been added.  When I go into windows Explorer to open the drive in Explorer mode, it says to insert the disc.

    Hi JimScottATO,

    We will try this.

First of all, make sure that you are connected under an administrator account on your computer. Then plug in your USB key.

Click START then right click on my computer , then click MANAGE

In the new window, click MANAGEMENT OF DISKS

Find the name of your flash drive and right click.

Click on the letter of change of road and railways

  • The request cannot be performed because of the I/o device error when opening a USB flash drive

Original title: USB Flash Drive issues

So, I tried to open my flash drive on my Dell Inspiron 15 with Windows 8 today to make an assignment. But for some reason some it does not open. This is what appears when I try to open it. I've done many things that are supposed to solve the problem with the ports themselves, but nothing seems to work that makes me think that it is the actual flash player. I don't know what to do all that my University materials are there then I really need to work, or at least find a way to get at least most of my files. Thank you very much for the help in advance.

Sorry for the late reply Jose. I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue.

This can occur because of one or more of the reasons below:
    1. the currently loaded USB driver has become corrupt or unstable.
    2. your PC requires an update for problems that could conflict with a key USB and Windows.
    3. Windows may miss other problems hardware or software updates.
    4. your USB controllers may have become unstable or corrupt.

Check the disc on another computer flash memory to ensure that the issue is not with the device.

You can try the methods below:
Method 1: Uninstall, then reconnect the USB flash drive:
This method solves the problems where the currently loaded USB driver has become corrupt or unstable.
    1. go in search for, type device manager in the search box
    2. click on Device Manager in the returned list.
    3. click on disk in the list of hardware drives
    4. right click on the USB with the question and click on uninstall.
    5. once the flash player is uninstalled, unplug it.
    6. wait 1 minute and then reconnect the USB flash drive. The driver should load automatically.
    7. look for the USB key in Windows Explorer

Method 2: Reinstall the USB controllers.
This method addresses the steps where the USB driver currently loaded became unstable or corrupted.
    1. click on start, type device manager in the start search box, and then click Device Manager.
    2. expand Bus USB controllers. Right click on a device, and then click on uninstall. Repeat for each device.
    3. Once complete, restart your computer. Your USB controllers will automatically install.

I hope this helps to solve the issue. If you still have the same problem, get back to us.

can I save my VAIO photo gallery picures on a flash drive?

Yes you can. Allow me to provide general information on how you can copy photos from your computer to a flash drive.

-Open the folder where you have the photos.

Normally, its located in the folder images under libraries if you have an operating system Windows 7 or Windows 8.

    -Insert the Flash drive.

-Open the flash drive (using "Computer" from the Start button).

-Drag the photos you want on the flash player window.  You can also try right clicking on the selected images and select send to then your USB key.

  • I don't then create a new folder on a flash drive as the NewFolder button no longer works. Are we supposed to now call a folder a Briefcase?

I don't then create a new folder on a flash drive as the NewFolder button no longer works.  I have to select the napkin instead of NewFolder; so, I get an icon Briefcase instead of a folder icon open when I open the flash drive.    Are we supposed to now call a folder a Briefcase?

Do, or you have installed Chrome? It appears that an update of Chrome, (mid April 2013), is responsible for the loss of the option new folder. Even if Chrome has not been installed, here are two patches.

  • My old flash drive works but will not latest.

I got several flash drives of various workshops I've attended that I can't access. I tried these on other computers flash drives and they work fine.

It seems that my computer can not open these new flash drives.  I also have an external hard drive that I bought that my computer does not open but will be other computers.  It's funny because my computer will open an old flash drive I've used for years, but not of these 'new' flash drives.

I have tried to install the latest updates, downloading the required driver (but failed), uninstall the usb ports and all of the recommended Microsoft fixes, but I still can't get my computer to open these flash drives.

Please, please, please, if anyone can help I'd be very happy.

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
    2. Do you have an error message when you connect the flash drive to the computer?
    3. Did you recent hardware or changes to the software to the computer before the show?

You could deal with this issue because of a damaged or out-of-date USB port driver. I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.

You can refer to the suggestion of Azeez N in the following link and check if it helps.

  • How to synchronize changes in the iMac to an external flash drive

Without using a 3rd party application, is it possible to synchronize changes made to my iMac documents and data on an external drive such as a flash drive? I use Time Machine, but I want to connect via a usb cable flash drive in the iMac, such as changes I made one of my documents will automatically flash player to activate and make the same changes on the documents that are in the flash player.

Not as part of the OS x Time Machine does not have a mirror copy of the backup computer. So what you have is just a backup that can be restored using the application Time Machine.

There are many utilities of third parties who may perform scheduled backups, incremental reflecting the main hard drive.

  • Why can I not see my files or files on my flash drive?

I bought a 64 GB USB flash drive to make a copy of some files (mainly of the wavs and mp3s into folders and subfolders several).  I drag some of them in the flash player and wait until the bar fills and the 'task' was over.  At this point, I can see the files.  I'll work and return with files over again to copy and when I open the flash drive in the viewfinder, I see nothing.  I try to copy the previous files (because they seem to not be there) and it is said that they ARE there.  Why is this and how do I solve this problem so I can see what was copied and what does not?

I also get these weird errors if I try out something.  It's never happened before.  I'm quite confused.

  • My flash drive which was a backup of my system windows has been accidentally immersed in water. When it is dry can still be used without destroying my USB port?

My flash drive which was a backup of my system windows has been accidentally immersed in water.  When it is dry can still be used without destroying my USB port?

    Hello

Put it in a bag of rice for a few days or more. -seal the bag.

If you remove all the moisture, it shouldn't affect the USB ports if nothing is
possible. Usually it is not a problem if the moisture is removed.

    I hope this helps.
