Which is funding the project?

Hello

I'm new to PA, I come from a technical background and despite having read everything regarding funding for project billing... I can't understand the concept of funding and how it must be equal to the Revenue Budget.

Can you please give me an example of real life on some project for project funding?

For example, a project with a contract of $100,000

Usually, who finance the project? and the amount of funding how is usually determined in projects?

Kind regards

Joe

The logical hierarchy could be - customer-> right-> financing

This means your "project with a contract of $100,000" example statement is partially correct. We can say as below:

Your company has an agreement with the XXX customer for $100,000. It means agreement correspond to the customer directly and not with the project.

Your agreement accepted the sum of $100,000, which you can supply to one or more projects for this client. For example-, you have 3 projects for this client you want to pay in respect of this agreement. You need to allocate funds to these projects so that you can provision and to Bill the customer. It is not necessary to allocate all the funds in these 3 projects, you can keep some unallocated funds to anticipate a new project for this client.

Your funding can be allocated to projects or tasks. Declaration of the User Guide - "the total amount of funding must match the amount of budget receipts of current approved project in order to baseline the project successfully. Eventually, top of page tasks on projects can be financed individually. If the top of the page tasks are financed, then the same requirement to match the budget amounts to funding amounts if applies to level the top of the page of the project task. »

  • VI server: Get references from the project which has a VI

    OK, here's a question for someone who knows the intricacies of the VI server:

    Is there a relatively easy way to get the reference of the project which has a VI?  (I don't know how that would play if there are multiple instances in different contexts, but maybe I'm overthinking it.)

    I see that there is a property "Own App" for the screws, which means that I could probably get to open projects from that and across these hierarchies of project.  That seems like a lot of effort, however.

    Thank you

    Jim

    @Ben: you are right, a VI, you get the reference of the call library, in the library, you can get the mention of 'a project', which is a "temporary project X" where X is an increment. But how to get the real owner of project?

    If the project is in memory, you can use the property to "Own the Application" of the VI then the 'Project.Active of the project"which is a private property.

  • Is it possible to group objects, which are placed in the project and then hide them with line a single action-script? THX in advance, Philip

    I work in CP 9 and I'm going to try the following: the user must be able to make ALL invisible or visible to highlight boxes by clicking on the corresponding button on the first page layout. Thus, for example, if the user does not want the highlight boxes appear, click on "Hide the boxes" and boxes are hidden for the rest of the project. I managed to get to this point for help... but it is still a lot of work for me to manually enter all the different names of these boxes in the action-script. So my question is: is it possible to group objects, which are placed in the project and then hide them with line a single action-script? THX in advance, Philip

    Actually... releasing the CpExtra HTML5 widget, it will be possible.

    It has a function called @syntax that allows you to perform an action (for example HIDE) automatically on any object throughout a project of Cp9 simply based on the name of the object.

    So for example, if you named all the boxes to highlight you want hidden this way to have the suffix _HideMe and you say CpExtra you want all of them hidden if a user variable is assigned to a certain value, then that is what will happen.

    That's the good news.  The bad news is that the widget is still in BETA final tests at the moment, so you may need to wait a bit before you can realize your idea.

  • Windows Movie Maker - Audio only, which plays in the exported project

    Hello.

    I did a project in windows movie maker with video and audio files. Project perfect cheek (the two audio/video playback) in windows movie maker when I am in the phase "creation/editing. When I export it and save the project as a. MP4 or. WMV file and try to play in Windows Media Player, Quicktime or VLC, as the audio of my theatre project. There is no video. However, when I play the other. MP4 files or. WMV files via these media players, they play very well. So I think that the problem is with the export of the Movie Maker project. Also, thinking that I have perhaps incompatible video files to Windows Movie Maker, I tried just using Jpeg files with audio to create a slide show, thinking that it would work with standard Habitat. Yet once, however, that the audio is played with a project containing pictures (no video). Any ideas?

    Audio was working fine, just no photos or video showing once the project has been saved as a movie. So, I tried your solution of creating a short slide show with photos only and no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled movie maker and still no luck. Downloaded the pack codek for windows 7 and still no luck.

    So, I decided to download the Vista windows movie maker for my OS to windows 7 and everything works like a charm. Don't know how or why, but the version of Vista is flawless on my windows 7.

    Thanks for your suggestions. I appreciate the help.

    Publish your SCORM SCORM Cloud and test if it will show you the results you want.  If so, then your problem is with your LMS.  If this is not your problem may be due to something in the settings of your current project.  Eliminate one thing at a time.

    Media in the components window is here and are not italacized to indicate that it is absent. It will load in the sorce Webs. In the source monitor, it will show, but he plays a lot, as if it were unreturned.

    The project is huge for a spot of 1 m I guess on 50gigs with stills related comps and 4 audio tracks. Even when I was finishing the task he began trolling.

  • Cannot open the project on final cut pro :(

    Hey guys, I have a big problem.
    I edited a video which is about 1h30m and using the function "Multicam clip", and successfully made and made a DVD. but unfortunately I need the second edition. Then I opened the library file, click the project, Final Cut Pro X continuous loading and close unexpectedly, and another project to another event works normally. anyone with the same problem? I need to send it to my tmr customer

    p.s. I deleted the file, preferably according to most of the Q & A.

    What version of FCP are you running? If it's the 10.1 or later, projects are in the events that are contained in libraries.

    If 10.1 or later, is the DVD project that does not open in the same library as the project is open? Or they in different libraries

  • Changing the file names of the photos used in the projects final cut express

    HI, I have a lot of pictures that I've used in some express HD projects final cuts.

    File names are not descriptive file name convention, but just standard camera. I want to add descriptive names, which will come out in the finder, but I don't want to damage the projects that I have created. I guess I could change one by one and tell the system where each file. But is there a better way? Thank you!!

    If you change the names in the Finder, all clips in your projects will lose the path of the file and you will have to redo the link.

    Changing names within the CTF will work OK but will not appear in the Finder, probably it will not work for you.

    I suggest you set the browser to display a miniature clip of the photo, that is maybe a solution to easily identify clips.

  • Which method is the best transfer songs (in Garageband) of an old, beginning to a 2013 09 macbook pro?

    Which method is the best transfer songs (in Garageband) of an older, early 09 to a 2011 macbook pro?

    Presentation of the material:

    FOR a Macbook pro 15 beginning 2011, intel core i7 at 2 ghz, memory 4 GB OS X ElCapitan

    Model name: MacBook

    Model identifier: MacBook4, 1

    Processor name: Intel Core 2 Duo

    Processor speed: 2.1 GHz

    Number of processors: 1

    Total number of cores: 2

    L2 Cache: 3 MB

    Memory: 2 GB

    Bus speed: 800 MHz

    You have the same version of GarageBand on Mac?

    Otherwise, some sounds from the old version of GarageBand may be missing in the new Mac.

    But you can simply copy the GarageBand project on a thumb drive or an external drive with enough storage and copy them on.  Or use your network - put the songs in the Public folder on the old Mac and from there copy them to your music on the recent Mac folder.

  • RTE de LV cannot open the project files that include references .lvlib in dependencies

    I am writing a DLL LabVIEW to inspect the LabVIEW project files, and I noticed that if a project has a .lvlib reference in its dependencies, then the Run-Time Engine is contradictory on whether or not he can find the project file:

    • Project.Open returns error 7 (file not found)

    • Project.GetFileLVVersion is a success

    Here are some excerpts from my code of G and C engaged in this behavior:

       int openStatus = StatusSuccess;
    char * projectVersion = createStringWithLength (VersionStringLength);

    printf ("Analysis %s\n", pathchaine);
    OpenProject (pathchaine & openStatus, projectVersion, VersionStringLength);
    printf (" project written in LabVIEW %s\n", projectVersion);

    If (openStatus is StatusSuccess)
    {
    printf (" Open the project file.") \n") ;
    }
    on the other
    {
    printf("Error: could not find Project file, or file was not a Project file (Error code %i).\n», openStatus);")
    }

    However, when running in the development environment, the two methods are successful.

    Is this a bug, and if so, is it fixed in 2014 of LabVIEW?

    Here's another way to trigger this behavior, which shows that LabVIEW occasionally Range the element dependencies:

      1. Open "OpenProject.lvproj" in LabVIEW.

  • Add to the project a new VI and place the constant path of file "Application Directory" his block diagram.

  • Select ""leader "Save All (this project)" and use the default name for the new VI.

  • Type 'c:\xtra\temp\OpenProject.lvproj' OpenProject

  • Notice that there is a mistake once again, as is expected.

  • Remove the "Application Directory" path of file constant

  • Select ""leader "Save All (this project)"

  • Type 'c:\xtra\temp\OpenProject.lvproj' OpenProject

  • Note that the problem has disappeared, as is expected.

  • Add the "Application Directory" path of file constant in the block diagram.

  • Select ""leader "Save All (this project)"

  • Type 'c:\xtra\temp\OpenProject.lvproj' OpenProject

  • Notice there is no problem, which is surprising, because that there should be a mistake because the dependencies item was not tidy.

  • Close the new VI and pull out of the project.

  • Select ""leader "Save All (this project)"

  • Open "OpenProject.lvproj" in a text editor.

  • Note that the dependencies item was put away.

  • Add VI back to the project.

  • Select ""leader "Save All (this project)"

  • Type 'c:\xtra\temp\OpenProject.lvproj' OpenProject

  • Notice that there is a mistake once again, as is expected.

    The same behavior occurs in LabVIEW RTE: a new project with a constant of the Application in an empty vi directory will return an error 7 - file not found, but still return the correct version of LabVIEW in which the project was created.

    I did experiment with workarounds for this problem, and I found a.

    When I used to get the path of LabVIEW libdir in the ini of the executable file, execution is able to load and inspect the project file.

    LIBDIR = 'C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2013'

    While it is expected that a stand-alone executable can be placed on a system that does not have the LabVIEW IDE, it is still surprising to me that the execution engine cannot find standard library of LabVIEW without some explicit guidance. What other factors contribute to this behavior?

  • Convert the project in real time

    I started to develop a routine that (finally) will be "split" between a host PC and a remote PXI, using LabVIEW Real-time.  I usually test these things on the side PC and create them using LabVIEW project.  I just started a new 'project' and build first the host code.  However, I simply said "New project" and got a "project without real-time targets.  Is it possible to add a 'target' to this project, or what I need to start over with a new project explicitly in real time?  Is the (only) way to do this by selecting new project from the main menu of LabVIEW Real-time (2010)?

    Bob Schor (who should know the answer to that now...)

    Bob,

    All you have to do is right click on the name of your project (in the Project Explorer window) and select new > targets and devices. Select yout real-time target. From there, you can right-click on this target RT and tell New > VI, which will create a VI targeted to run on this RT controller.

    There is really no such notion as "a project in real time. All projects are the same, but I suppose a real-time project is one that contains a real-time target in it.

    See you soon,.

  • Are there disadvantages to the use of libraries in the project to organize common code used by different projects?

    My company is trying to determine how best to organize and share our common code. We use subVersion. We have several important programs that are deployed on different machines, some of which are running older versions of labview. I read a lot of documents on how to share the code, but I still don't know if it makes sense to use the project libraries to organize the code which will be shared by several projects. Another option is the package build. Can someone comment on the advantages and disadvantages? Thank you.

    Because you use several versions of LabVIEW, go with the packages.

    The project libraries are stored in a specific version of LabVIEW.  So if someone registers in 2014, you can't use it in 2013.

    If you use packet, then you have a core library that is 'installed' for a specific version of LabVIEW.  Each version of LabVIEW can have its own installation of this package.

  • Is it possible to determine which parts of the runtime of the BCI are required?

    Recently, I added a few .NET controllers to allow me to use c# written by third-party DLLs.

    A few years ago, due a number of reasons, rather that runtime CVI together with our shipping software, we have stripped the small pieces that were needed to make the software run, which kept the overall size of the package down. Given the size of the complete engine (134MB) and the fact that we probably use very little of it, I'm reluctant to add, given the fact that the package occupies only around 10-12 MB.

    I discovered yesterday that the latest version of our software does not work on machines other than my development machine - either're missing us now stuff CVI.

    You might wonder why I do not use the distribution manager to build. In other words, due to the law American that we are prohibited from any form of encryption beyond a certain level as part of a software project we produce, and the installer at the moment entered in this category.

    So that's my dilemma. My questions are...

    (1) is it possible to determine what might be missing by the simple knowledge that the addition of .NET controllers caused the problem.

    (2) if I use the distribution manager to make a working copy of the software, would it not straight to the before enough to then identify what additional things other than my own code, has been added to make the software work and if so where is the installer put it. I have the impression that something gets stuck in Windows\System32, but are there other places too?

    I hope you can help

    Concerning

    Gavin Summers

    You have been really helpful guys... I'm sorted now... The problem arose mainly because I have 9 upgrade to 2010 and then 2010 SP1 for this project. I already had a local copy of the CVI. Reflector.dll in my (9.0.248) project, or something similar, so that was the cause of the problem, but because I just started testing on machines other than my development machine, I haven't noticed so far.

    I went looking for the new copy of this file, when we moved to 2010 SP1, but found no one. I didn't realize he was locked up in the House - I think he could be in the system32 directory before. I have now managed to get a copy from there and when included in the installer, the project is now working on other machines.

    As I said before that the situation is far from the idea, saw out the locks take out the execution engine of the CVI, but because of the way we ship software and due to the restrictions that are imposed by the U.S. Government on issues of encryption, full runtime is now too big to ship with the software , and we cannot use the MSI installer as its encryption level at least at the last valuation was too high.

  • Libraries in the project tree

    I recently noticed that some of my projects have libraries added in a separate the 'library' of the project tree branch, while in others they are simply registered at the level of the base tree; see these two examples:

    There is a practical difference between these two provisions, in addition to aesthetics? Can I get in trouble in the second? I'm actually in many of my projects in the second scenario without apparent problems, so I tend to answer 'no', but who knows?

    Hello Roberto,

    The hierarchy of the project tree is only to logically organize your files. However, there is no impact on the operation of the program.

    You can change the hierarchy to organize your files in the virtual folder that you want.

    Starting with 2013 CVI, you can also add subfolders, which was not possible in 2012.

    Constantine.
