Who likes a challenge?  . Transparent PNG files except when place on black

Hello

So, I have an interesting problem with InDesign CS6 here at work.  I use several PNG files with transparent background in my document.  When they are placed above any element that is not black, printing fine with a transparent background.  However, when I use the same files and place them on an element that is black, something weird is happening.  PNG files are displayed correctly on the screen of the computer, but when I print my InDesign document (either directly or by exporting it as a pdf and then print the pdf file), they get printed with a rectangle in the background shape with a fill color that is a different shade of black as the element behind it.  In other words, my png graphics seem to lose their transparent backgrounds only when the color behind them is black.  It looks pretty bad (non-professional).  First of all, I thought it was a problem with my color management settings.  However, a professional friend to a publishing company printed the InDesign document and had the same problem.  At work, we have a lot of these PNG files and I don't want to really pass the time by converting all to PSD or transparent TIFF, I don't have to.  Any ideas/suggestions as to what could be the cause?  Thank you!

Try to make a whole raster flattening preset like this:

Then use it in your print dialog box Advanced tab:

    Hi, Felipe.

What you need are filters CSS, which are not fully supported on all browsers, but support browsers based on Webkit (Safari/Chrome, including mobile).  You can find our CSS filters under the section "Filters" in the properties panel.

    Hi, justdaveillustrated.

    Two things you can try:

First of all, if the cache is present while you are editing, you can try: layer > Carpet (all the way down) > remove Matt White.

Second, if it does not, you can give mix so suddenly:

Open your Layer Styles: layer > layer Style > blending Options

Below, you will see the section so mixture. With your Alt/Option key pressed, drag the left side of the highlight slider (right slider) to the left. This will gently remove Matt white of this layer.

  • Writing PNG file failed when build exe, but operate normally on the development platform

See photo below, it is used to call WinAPI for screenshot and then save it in PNG file. This Vi operate normally on the flatform of development, but it failed when building the application .exe file. The pop-up dialog error 'chain of illegal path, OS', but it is clear that the path is correct. Note: run the same PC with Win XP.

    Update:

I found the reason, but not a solution. In fact, the Clipboard.Get Image does not work when building application exe. But it's the private node invoke, impossible to get support of NOR.

It seems to be to the node to invoke public on the version of LabVIEW 2012, which can help you check on LV2012 version? Thank you very much.

  • The behavior of copy (.png files) screen when using TextEdit and printing

I have long used the method to copy and paste texts and/or pictures to TextEdit and print files .rtf or .rtfd below:

I use the command-control-shift-4 and the cursor to select things and paste into TextEdit.

That stopped working in the Sierra.  I tried several methods (PDF format conversion, fall in Pages and Numbers, for example), but nothing worked: the Canon PIXMA MX922 printed on a white sheet and left the box of small characters with text "filter impossible."

There is no new printer driver on the Canon site; However, there is a new driver IJ Scan Utility and I downloaded it already after that installation of Sierra and the scanner works fine, as also directly print something (e.g. on the Web).

Now, after several days of testing and I was wondering, I tried this yesterday:

Instead of the above command, I used (which I do when I want to save it to the desktop) command + shift + 4.  I copied the file .png from office, dropped in the TextEdit, printed, and... IT WORKED.

Copy and leaving fall directly in the TextEdit and printing, is so not working, but let fall the same screenshot on the desktop and copy and paste into TextEdit and it print shops.

I noticed several other annoying problems to Sierra, some I've reported here (communities), some didn't.  Business-as-usual: first version of an upgrade is full of bugs, which 'disappear' in future versions, until a new update is made available, the loop continues, continues, and...

    He works here.

  • How can I change the name of the .png file saved when I create a HTML report?

I have a report generation .vi that reads in several graphics and adds the 'photo' in the .html report. Is it possible to control how LabVIEW named the graphics .png resulting?

I' worm attached a photo of the small piece of code and the generated automatically.

    Thank you!

    Hello

The naming convention is designed to ensure that no conflict is generated that this generation of report class is called. Below, I've attached a screenshot of the feature that defines the names of the images.

You can view this block diagram by double-clicking on and by opening the reporting tools. While you are free to modify this class to implement a new naming scheme, I have to insert the disclaimer that this process has bad effect on additional functions in the report generation tool. As you can see in this code, the names are randomly generated, then applied according to a random number. You might look into the implementation of a system that gets the label of the reference of the input control control and generates the path suitable for PNG images.

I really appreciate your time. Please post any additional questions.

    Sincerely,

  • I need to convert hundreds of files PDF TRANSPARENT PNG or TIFF

I need to convert hundreds of files PDF TRANSPARENT PNG or TIFF.

This is not possible with Acrobat. It is possible to convert hundreds of files PDF into PNG or TIFF using batch processing. But transparency is LOST!

Photoshop is the software that I know of who is able to keep transparency in the conversion of PDF to PNG.

But now I have problems to get the batch running.

I made an Action with "Open a file", "Save as PSD" and "export of PNG.

By using this Action in source batch-process-files as a folder with several PDF files and target as a different folder results in multiple PDFs open in Photoshop. Nothing else :-(.

    Any ideas?

  • Cannot save a PNG file with alpha channel transparency format

I try to send a PNG file with transparency channel alpha on my Zenfolio web page. It is a custom application of copyright law that I do.  When I save the file, cs5, and I select Save in PNG, in the window, I get a message error/alert that says "the file should be saved as a copy with this application.  I'm not allowed to select the Alpha channel option.

I think that I have a setting in CS5 that is making this happen, but I'm not smart enough to understand.

What happens when I have when even save it and upload this file to my Zenfolio website is copyright logo has a cloud of sorts with it. It's the rest of the House generated page which should be, but is not transparent.

PNG does not support alpha channels, only one channel of transparency.

Just make the image with transparency and save in PNG.

  • All of a sudden, I can't open a PNG file in layers.  I get a message file could not be found. Help!

I work with multilayer files in photophop CS6 creating composite photograph.  All of a sudden, I can't open the PNG files.  I get a message that the file cannot be found when I try to open it.  Can someone help me please?

A quick search on Google turned up the news I knew vaguely.

PNGs in layers are only produced by Macromedia (later Adobe Fireworks more) using a proprietary format that has never been publicly documented.  Thus, it seems that only Adobe Fireworks can open the png with the layers intact. Whether or not you can export these layers in another file format and to open in another application with everything intact seems to be up in the air.

Fire of artifice is not updated anymore and it seems that Adobe doesn't have a plan for png supports layers and the proprietary format is removed.

Some people seek to affinity as a possible replacement for Photoshop.

However to quote some comments from their FAQ:

FAQ - fireworks in layers of PNG and TIFF files in layers

Since this question comes up often, I write a definitive statement.

    Files PNG Fireworks (layers)

There is no such thing as "layered PNG.  The standard PNG does not define a way to store diapers and only deals with flattened images.

Fireworks saves the data of the extra layer of PNG files in a proprietary format with a private label. A definition for this exclusive data has never been made public.  Saved by Fireworks PNG still usable as a flattened image of any application able to handle PNG files.  These applications will maintain the standard data and ignore the proprietary data of fireworks.

Affinity maintains the standard PNG files.  But it cannot import or export data from the layer by using the method of fireworks.

There is no hope that we will always be able to manage the data layer from Fireworks PNG files.

We recognize that being able to handle Fireworks PNG files would be very useful for users of affinity.  If a public definition of the format of data become available, we will be able to address the issue.

    Layered TIFF files

There is no such thing as "layered TIFF.  The TIFF standard handles only images flattened under the tags described to the public.

TIFF allows businesses to record any additional tags for their own use. Adobe has recorded two private TIFF tags that allow them to incorporate the layer data in a TIFF file.  These tags are an extension and are not part of the standard TIFF Central.  These tags are used to integrate data layer PSD into a TIFF image, in addition to the standard rasterized image.

Since affinity has a PSD importer, we are able to import data from the layer of a TIFF file if it has these tags.  However, given that this is handled by our PSD importer that is subject to the restrictions as standard PSD Import in affinity.  We clearly that while we aim to provide the best third party support PSD, we can never replicate 100% the way Photoshop deals and displays a PSD file.  Photoshop has its own approach to apply the transparency/alpha, vector and features of vector, layer effects and gradient masks.  This means that although we can offer the importation of what can be changed to a PSD file, the result will not be a reproduction of a one pixel that you see in Photoshop.

We recorded our own TIFF tags for the incorporation of the data layer of affinity in a TIFF file, in a similar way to the data layer PSD. This is intended for the dams that use TIFF as their Exchange format.  When you save a TIFF file, you are given the option to include data of layer affinity.  This will help keep the editable document of several layer elements.  This obviously comes at a cost of increased size.  Our TIFF labels will use our format proprietary data and as such, cannot be used by the applications of affinity.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Their admission that same PSD are not guaranteed to be a reproduction of a tone pixel that you see in Photoshop, combined with the use of the affinity of the TIFF layers and tags "our TIFF labels will use our format proprietary data and as such, cannot be used by affinity applications." is a bit worrying consequences for everyone who has the hope that affinity would be a complete replacement for Photoshop
