Do E1500 in a printer server/access point

Several years ago, I was able to make my printer wireless network using an old linksys router.  The router died and I have another I can use an E1500 but don't remember what I had to change the settings on this subject.

Hi golddust5364,

What type of pinter do you have is it wired or wireless?
For wired printer:

You can connect the printer directly to a computer and share with others on a network or connect the printer as a stand-alone device on the network itself.

You can try this if you have a wireless printer:

Click the Start button and open components and printers, and then click Add a printer. In the Add Printer Wizard, click Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.

In the list of available printers, select the one that you have, and then click Next.
If prompted, install the printer driver on your computer by clicking on install driver. You can be required with the type of password administrator password or provide confirmation.

Perform the steps in the wizard and then click Finish.

If this does not work, please provide the model number of your printer and operating system of your computer. Good luck!

  • Wireless router WRP400 WAP54G Point Wireless WPS54G print server Wi - Fi

I have a router broadband wireless Linksys WRP400 with 2 phone ports and a Linksys WPS54G wireless print server. Unfortunately, the signal is too weak to detect the wireless Print Server 20 meters/yards away at the other end of the House. (Works fine when they are close together).

Linksys Help Desk told me that a WRE54G amplifier is not useful to extend range, because they will have only a helping hand signal by 50% compared to a WAP54G wireless access point that they recommend.

Can you suggest the best way to increase the signal between a WRP400 router and a wireless WPS54G print server? Would a WAP54G wireless set to halfway between the two (or in some other way) is working to boost the strength of the signal between WRP400 router wireless and wireless WPS54G Print server?

I don't want to have to wire all devices.

No forum topics cover using the WPS54G and WRP400 together, hope I can push the signal strength wireless - thanks for your help.

  • How to install a HP printer wireless network using an Access Point in Windows 7

Let me know if you have any questions or need help to install a HP printer wireless network using an Access Point in Windows 7.

  • cannot print wireless to wireless using a but access point wired printing (pc) wireless technology is very well

I have a HP OfficeJet 8600plus N911a CM749A # product who has problems in this impossible to print wireless to wireless using an access point but Wired print (pc) wireless technology is fine. We have 4 pcs in a network cable that work very well try to print to the printer which is connected wireless. They installed the software and discovered the printer very well. When you try to install the printer on a Win8 Tablet and a laptop Win7 that neither would discover the printer, so I have two devices connected by ethernet cable and ran the facilities in the same way as the PC and installed everything and worked fine. But, after I disconnected the wire and reconnected or the other device wireless again (they go OK so I know that they get an address) when I go to print to the 8600 it says there is no communication to the printer. BTW, I can install (and installed) other (cable) HP printers on the network as the computer laptop and Tablet AUTODECOUVERTS and print... Yes, ideas on why it loses its Wireless communication to the wireless printer. He turns a few odd Protocol or discovered that did not pass on a wireless system?

Thank you for answering my question and I wanted to know was the brand of the router.  I suggest making sure the router firmware is up to date as well.

Here is a link to a post I did on the various ports used by HP printers for reference.

    -Incoming and outgoing Ports-

So all your work computers don't encounter this issue?  Once again, while in the router, verify that wireless isolation is not activated.  A question also, I do not see has anti-anti-virus/firewall you had on your main computer that you are using?  Maybe it's not the cause, but that depends on the software, too.

    -Security and Firewall.

You have all the exclamation points in your device manager?

Let me know what is happening when you try another access point.

  • D6200 Access Point - 2.4 is no longer connects 99% of the time

Hi gurus, I have a D6200 which is defined as an Access Point (I have to use my ISP modem issued their secret squirrel nature do not share the parameters and limitations of VOIP, but that's another story). I had already used the D6200 before getting the NBN (Australia) and so why was happy to keep the same configuration of network with her now implemented as an AP.

In any case, served as AP all 2.4 and 5 without problems with things like my printer and Panel Solar Inverter only able to use the network 2.4. Like today I can connect is 2.4 (warned, saying: I have the wrong password)-had a power outage yesterday that could have an impact, but seems odd when only 2.4 network hit.

-J' have confirmed the password, delete all.

-Checked the channels for interference, all clear (tried a few others just in case where)

-Tried a simple power cycle, no joy.

-J' have done a factory reset, reconfigured AP, created with pre-existing, passwords and network names. 5 works fine, 2.4, no joy.

-An another factory reset and reconfigure but leaving name network and passwords according to the default. 5 works fine. 2.4... worked well on my iphone6, but not on my ipad (always get incorrect password). Unable to connect via 2.4 via macbook either.

-Just not changed my phone from 2.4 to 5 no worries, attempted to return to the 2.4 password and wants new and can no longer access

I am at a loss. I have seen many problems with 2.4 in the forums, but nothing that seems to relate directly to it (which has not been fixed with a simple factory reset).

    See you soon. Diving.

Ok. I can't explain it, but then nothing for a few days, connected to the computer today and was able to conenct to 2.4 did the same with the phone and the printer and everything back to normal. So I guess that the solution to this problem is to do nothing for a few days and hope for the best. I can't contact at all but I'm glad I'm not buying a new router in the meantime.

  • HP Officejet pro 8100 cannot wifi access point?

Yesterday, my HP Officejet pro 8100 arrived and I try to connect via wifi. I thought that it need access to infrastructure to print via wifi.

When I turned on the printer I osserved that he create a stand-alone gateway with SSID: HP-Setup-7 a-Officejet Pro with IPv4 server address, etc...

I was very happy and I printed a page with my smartphone samsung s4 directly connected printer access point (no wifi direct wifi except standard).

Has been held today has changed, but I can't use printer with its own point of access, but only with an external wifi access point.

Can someone help me, please? It could be a hardware problem?

    Thank you

    Luca

P.S. to the webserver I checked 'connectivity point of access' (di accesso instradamento wireless in Italian Punto) is checked.

    Hello lucait

You are right that the Hp Officejet PRo 8100 is a single function printer which does not directly optional wireless. You can always do what you want to do, but you will need a router to connect the printer to a network, and from there you can use the network routers or set up the feature ePrint for your portable devices.

I hope this solves your post. Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums. It has been a pleasure. Have a great day!

  • two access points; Passwords?

I have two access points (WAP4400N & WAP54G) on a wired router BEFSR81 v3. I also have a print server PSUS4 connected to a printer.  There are two PC on the network. My problem is that I see only the WAP54G point to 192.168.1.245, but not the WAP4400N of access.  I can connect at once and surf, but need to set a password on the WAP4400N. When I go to the screen of the Admin to the router, I don't see that both IP addresses on the network.

    Anyone have any ideas?

All Linksys Access Points using the IP 192.168.1.245 default. What do you think will happen if 2 devices with the same IP are connected to a network. It will hang two connections or automatically turn off the other.

Change the address Ip of the Access Point to which you have access.

    See you soon

  • Add Printer__ Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied

Laptops have just loaded with Windows 7 Pro on my domain. Try to load printers to a print server. Print server running Windows 2003 R2.

When I log in with a user profile, I go to devices and printers------click Add a printer-network printer select------I see a list of printers on the print server - choose the printer that I want to load------asked if I have confidence in this printer - click install drver------opens window files Coping - green bar moves as if it were loading drivers------then just before you get to the window asking if you want to make a default printer. open window that says - Connect Add Printer (X RED) for printer Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied

Changes to device settings to allow the user load the drivers. Check the security access (everyone has permissions) for this printer on the print server.

Disable UAC control on the laptop. Group Policy has changed restrictions point and print.

But this same user can log on to another computer on the network, which has loaded XP Pro and can load the same printers that are denied with windows 7 pro

As a network administrator, I can log on to laptop computers and load A B and C printers.

So I can log on as a user and then I can load A B and C printers, but as a user I want printer D I get the same message as above.

Thank you in advace for your help

This is the solution I received and seems to work.

You have to go into the local group policy on Windows 7 computers, and not on the server.

    Go to the Group Policy:

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Printers\Point and printing Restrictions ss SET TO OFF

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Printers\Point and printing Restrictions ss SET TO OFF

  • WiFi HP ENVY 4500 with several Access Points - same SSIS Configuration

    Hello

We just got a HP ENVY 4500.  I have a main homenetwork with a wifi Modem/Router and an old router acting as an Access Point to the floor to extend coverage.

Both have the same SSID and password and are set to different channels.

My HP ENVY 4500 fails to connect when the Access Point is lit.

    It will connect with it.

Once connected, I can turn on the PA and all is well.

The two router an AP using WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encriptación

The router (that it connects to) should have a better sgnal when both are on, so I do not understand why they need the AP to be turned off to connect.

    Any thoughts people?

    Eserim

I think he has always had problems with several access points.  Try this, what ever AP is closest to the printer, set it to channel 1.  Then try channel 11.  Try now.

  • PS B110a - wireless configuration will fail if the network has multiple access points

Photosmart B110a (CN245B) wireless AIO printer.

I have several wireless access points using the same SSID to provide coverage over a large area. When you install the printer on the screen TouchSmart wireless installation fails. Print report reveals the following error:

"More than one access point/router wireless was found which matches your network name (SSID). If this is not intended, your HP printer can connect to the wrong network. »

In my case this IS planned but there seem to be no available option to answer "OK, just connect to any point of access by using my SSID.  If I turn off all but one the APs configuration complete OK. If I have to do every time I turn on the printer the printer is USELESS for me.

    Did I miss something?

    sijomi

This should not be a problem.  I have a B110 (and another 10 or so HP wireless printers) on a network of airports with 5 access points and they just connect.

    Here are a few suggestions:

    1. don't use WEP - use WPA or WPA2 with a 13 + character password.

    2. enable the SSID broadcast on all access points

    3. do not use the MAC filtering acddress

    4. make sure "AP isolation" or "isolated wireless" is disabled.

    5. make sure that you are not on a private network, virtual, or connected to your network of comments.

    6. If different strings on access points do not work, try the same channel.
