Why Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 misbehaves?

Why did Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 creating two copies of downloaded books and does not let me access books borrowed once copied in my e-reader?  Locked content message even if the e-reader and computer authorized.  I uninstalled and reinstalled ADE several times, as well as emptied the files in the folder of Digital Editions on my PC - several times.  Now as soon as I run the application ADE 4.5 it makes automatically two copies of the file in even though I have not downloaded from the site of the library again.  I'm at my wits end.

  • Why can I not use my mouse to start Adobe Digital Editions?

    Hi all

    It's Seth, here. I deleted the program and ran it on my system again. This has been without result. I'm still stuck on a screen that does not allow me to use my mouse to the start of the Digital Editions. Y at - it a patch or a certain type of update that I need? If so, how can I update or use this hotfix if ADE keeps me from using my mouse? I have about 140 books in ePub format on my ADE. I said earlier that I had only 40. I was wrong. I have about 140 pounds. Together are 140 ePub books too for ADE to manage?

    Sincerely,

    Seth

    PS Please try to contact me if others have this problem too. If there is no task, please let me know.

    Hi all

    I found through my personal computer, a system within Windows 7. This system is under programs. You access the Action Center under programs. On the bottom left says Windows compatibility Trouble Shooter. Click on this word list. Use it with any program that you have problems with your operating system. You can choose from a list of every program that you have.

    I went to this selection system under programs and clicked on Action Center. I then clicked Windows compatibility Trouble Shooter. Upward came a command prompt. I used this prompt to choose my software Adobe Digital Editions 4.0.3 or other version I have now. I ran the diagnostic and invites another came to change the compatibility to XP. I did start at the moment. If I have more problems in the future, I'll know to clear the program, download the same program and then apply this compatibility Windows Trouble Shooter to my methods that have stopped working.

    This should explain things well or keep guessing you, but that's exactly where to go in Windows 7 to learn more about the problem you are experiencing and how to solve.

    Sincerely,

    Seth

  • Why does the software Adobe Digital Editions stop my mouse to work?

    Hello

    I need to know how to overcome this problem. Adobe Digital Editions creates my mouse to pause for an unlimited period. I need to know if others are having this problem or if it's just my setup. I have about 40 books in ePub format on my Adobe Digital Editions software. I need to recover, but the Digital Editions system creates the conditions mentioned above.

    Please send advice.

    Sincerely,

    Seth

    Okay and Hello,

    I think I got it. Go to programs. Click Action Center. Go to the bottom left corner and click on Windows compatibility Trouble Shooter. This tool will guide you through the rest of what to point and click on specific points related to the Adobe Digital Editions software and its compatibility with Windows 7. There are options for tackling many programs that are running in these guests. Choose. You will probably be able to locate a large number of programs that provide challenges for the system you have set up.

    Sincerely,

    Seth

  • Problem launching software adobe digital editions and the administrator password

    I'm trying to download adobe digital editions to my pc, so I can transfer books to read on my iPad 2.  However, when I click on "launch", appears a message "run as" and this must be done by "Administrator".  The problem is, it won't take my password.  The password works every time I log in.  Why not do it now?  Thank you.

    Do you have any other user accounts on the computer? If so, is there another account with higher privileges to user you can log in and check if your account privileges is set to administrator or limited user level?

    I would like to uninstall the software and reinstall.

    Navigate to the configuration file, right-click, and click Run as administrator.

  • InDesign CS6 is an updated version of the Adobe Digital Editions software?

    When I click on the Adobe Digital Editions software on the Adobe Web site on my computer, a window titled "InDesign CS6' pop - up;  When I click on the Adobe Digital Editions software on the Adobe website on my iPad, a window titled 'Adobe Digital Editions' pop-up. Why different? InDesign CS6 is an updated version of the Adobe Digital Editions software? Adivse me please.

    No, it's something completely different. InDesign is the Adobe page layout program to create printed stuff or also the electronic formats like PDF or EPUB and others. It is a program that will require a lot of how to work with.

    You must download and install ADE on your computer. If you have never worked with InDesign, it may not be what you want to use.

  • Adobe Digital Editions 4.0.5

    Hello

    I have three problems with Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.0.

    First problem.

    Tag < hr / >, line in ADE 4.5.0 is closer to the margin that paragraph above. And annotation text is also closer to the margin, please see picture # 1.

    No.1.jpg

    Photo n ° 1. ADE 4.0.5

    But another application like Sigil, caliber or EPUB file reader, it looks very good, please see photo n ° 2.

    No.2.jpg

    Photo n ° 2. EPUB file reader. The same e-book, the same and all CSS is correct.

    I found the reason for this error. In CSS is the left margin: 2.5 rem;

    If instead of rem I 'll use Pixel, everything is OK, please see picture No. 3

    No.5.jpg

    Photo n ° 3 new ADE 4.0.5 but in CSS margin left: 2.5 rem; has changed to 50 pixels. Now, it is good.

    And now I have some questions.

    1.) why good work in another application, but not in ADE 4.5.0 rem?

    (2.) what rem is to make size only property? If we can use rem to another property for example the margin?

    CSS is ongoing.

    {h}

    Width: 70%;

    height: 2px;

    text-align: left;

    margin left: 2.5 rem;

    margin-bottom:-1%;

    border-width: 0;

    background-color: #000000;

    }

    {p}

    do-family: TeXGyreSchola;

    make-style: normal;

    make-weight: normal;

    font size: 1.4 rem;

    line-height: 130%;

    margin left: 2.5 rem;

    right margin: 2.5 rem;

    text-align: justify;

    text-indent: 1.5 rem;

    }

    Now next, second problem. Initials.

    Please see photos No. 4 and no. 5.

    No.3.jpg

    Photo n ° 4. In ADE initial is too big.

    No.4.jpg

    Photo n ° 5. In the file player initial EPUB is correct, similar as in Sigil.

    I have no idea about the problem of the initials.

    CSS is ongoing.

    initials {}

    do-family: TeXGyreSchola;

    make-style: normal;

    make-weight: normal;

    font size: 1.6 rem.;

    line-height: 100%;

    }

    {p}

    do-family: TeXGyreSchola;

    make-style: normal;

    make-weight: normal;

    font size: 1.4 rem;

    line-height: 130%;

    margin left: 2.5 rem;

    right margin: 2.5 rem;

    text-align: justify;

    text-indent: 1.5 rem;

    }

    And in the end, the third problem.

    je downloaded ebook epub Adobe and Kobo.com examples. After change .epub to .zip extension, I opened this case zip with epub content. This tags like: < meta / >, < link / >, < hr / >, < br / > places of not and looks like this: < meta / >, < link / >, < hr / >, < br / >. In addition the standalone attribute is removed.

    EPUB is the set of documents with the xml prologue xhtml. Why the xml prologue is autonomous deleted?

    Why the space before slash is removed?

    Thank you for your attention.

    Kind regards

    I know a solution to this problem.

    In CSS, the @font face should contain local path to the folder fonts in the ebook (within OEBPS). Statement of the sample.

    {@font-face}

    do-family: TeXGyreSchola;

    make-style: normal;

    make-weight: normal;

    SRC: local (... /3_Fonts/texgyreschola-Regular.OTF);

    }

  • I bought a book of game Google and downloaded the CMHA on my desk. When I try and open it with my Adobe Digital Edition, I get the error message "license make mistake. "License server communication problem: E_Stream_Error.

    I bought a book of game Google and downloaded the CMHA on my desk. When I try and open it with my Adobe Digital Edition, I get the error message "license make mistake. "License server communication problem: E_Stream_Error.

    Response to SMcLeod8:

    Hello, I managed to solve my problem of E_STREAM_ERROR regarding the Google Play ebook. The short answer is to use ADE 4.0.3.

    When I met the problem of the E_STREAM_ERROR, it is with ADE 2.0.67532 on Windows 7 (and this had no problem handling the Kobo CMHA, OverDrive files, open a library and a sample epub BCAM from Adobe itself). This is why I would not upgrade my 2.0.67532 to the last 4.0.3. Instead, I used another Windows 7 PC and installed ADE 4.0.3. On my first try, I allowed the 4.0.3 without ID, and there was an error E-GOOGLE_DEVICE_LIMIT_REACHED. I then allowed with the Adobe-same ID * as my 2.0.67532 PC. It worked as I could get my epub from Google.

    As I don't expect a response from Adobe technical support, I guess that now Google license servers do not work with Adobe 2.0.3. I hope this will help you solve your problem - at least to get your ebook in ADE first.

    However, I would be careful replacing 4.0.3 of my 2.0.67532 I wouldn't be surprised if the latest version will not work with other suppliers of epub for social mobilization. For me the upgrade to the latest version of the software is never the best solution - it could solve a problem, but creates another.

    Note: * I understand that you can authorize up to a total of six computers with the same Adobe ID. Not sure that this policy is still standing.

  • Authentication probel with Adobe Digital Editions

    Hello, everyone. I have a problem with my Adobe Digital Editions program. I installed it and now I want to authenticate my computer with the adobe ID. I have an Adobe ID, but whenever I want to authenticate you, there is an error that says I wrote the wrong code word or record ID. But I wrote all right! I checked it. Also, I clicked on the link in the email varification. On the internet I can enroll in my account, but not in my software adobe digital editions... (PS it is windows on my computer) Thanks for help

    Hi now I know why I was not able to authorize my laptop computer with digital editions... Digital Editions do not have special characters in the password... then change your password and use only regular letters and numbers or something like that... Do not take A/O/U and so on

  • Search function does not work in Adobe Digital Editions

    Hi all

    First of all, I use a PC and I am creating a 'fixed provision' epub using Adobe InDesign. I have included pictures and buttons to navigate through the book, and everything works fine, until I try to use search in Adobe Digital Editions. The search function works fine in ibooks, then I tried to open it in any other ebook readers, which has blurred my text and images, this Adobe Digital Editions software did not. For this reason, I want to stay with using Adobe Digital Editions. All text is online, so I know this isn't the problem. I tried to save the file as a "Reflowable" epub, even though I know that this will not work for me, just to see if the search function would work, and he did. So my question is, why can I not use the search feature of Adobe Digital Edition with a provision fixed epub, and is it possible that I can fix it?

    Thank you!

    Kelsey

    If anyone wonders, I found a solution to this problem, but also problems with fonts does display correctly in the Adobe Digital Editions software.

    CircularFlo

    Basically, you download the trial and it works with InDesign. It will also allow you to make a Kindle Edition, which is excellent. Basically you pay $99 for every epub to create it is less than 50 pages, and $199 you will get an epub with an unlimited number of pages. It also adds a lot of great animation features. I think it works well, and I hope this helps someone!

  • Lack only the GIFs in Adobe Digital Editions

    I export from InDesign CC (latest version) to ePub 3.0.

    When I consult my folder in my other ePub readers, I see everything fine.  Images will only miss in Adobe Digital Editions 4.0.

    In this drive, my GIFs appear only if I select CSS size: fixed - all other options lead on an empty box where the image should be.  But when I select this option, the areas of the image are very small, and images are not resized while they are cut.

    The GIFs have already been optimized in PhotoShop for distribution so I prefer the option, "Use Image for charts existing objects" when I export.  But no matter if I turn it off - I see the same behavior if I select the option "Preserve the appearance of Layout" instead.

    But I don't think that the image itself is the problem - I think that it is in the CSS generated by InDesign to tags that surround the image.

    If I crack open the ePub file and remove all the DIV tags surrounding the image then repackage the ePub, the image appears in the right place, floating above the text.  It is the right size and it is great (except that you can't read the text below).

    I'm guessing there is a mistake in the CSS styles those DIV tags use.  I'm fairly warned to fix the CSS in the ePub file, but I would like to know what fixes I need to do and if there is a way to adjust the settings in InDesign so that I don't have to do.

    Most of my readers is likely to use iBooks or another drive - I guess I could just warn them NOT to use Adobe Digital Editions... but it seems that Adobe would prefer a different solution.

    Thank you!

    Figured this out on my own, but leaving here because it was a FRUSTRATING problem!

    Object of my picture frame was not size to 100% on the entire width of the text block where the image is anchored.

    I don't know why the image disappeared when the scale has not been updated, but I know that when I fixed the width for the container in CSS attribute, it worked.  Then I realized that the value of the width attribute has been prepared by the size of the image.  When I resized it is 100%, it worked.

    My key takeaway from all this:

    If your images are not displayed in your ePub after export of InDesign files, first crack open the ePUB file and remove the CSS surrounding. Then pack again as an ePub.

    If the image appears, the problem is in CSS.

    Experiment with the original CSS to find the right settings which will eliminate the problem.

    Finally, see if it is possible to work with InDesign to get the right settings appear when it exports.  If this isn't the case, at least, simply edit the CSS file, rather than changing each individual IMG tag in XHTML files.

  • I can't activate my software adobe digital editions and wandered if I had reached my limit

    "I get an error message saying editions digital"Activation server error"encountered an error on the activation server" I work in a library and provide training with peoples eReaders and sometimes I have to show them how to download adobe digital editions and how to download it on their device and I can have exceeded my limit

    Can someone help me please?

    If too much records is the reason why, it may be preferable to use the customer record.

    I guess that most of the customers trust you with their Adobe ID.

    If you choose your copy of the library of ADE ctrl-shift-D, which will write off of your Adobe ID

    Restart and it will ask you to register for an AdobeID.

    Enter the coordinates of the client; or if they do not have an Adobe ID still give them a chance to get one (with your help).

    If they got their eReader with them you can allow even that, for them, form of ADE with their ID at the same time.

    When the client has disappeared; cross the ADE new exercise and record it again with your username.

    (ADE DRM is not very smart, but I think he's smart enough to recognize the same device re-enrollment).

    I don't know how much time you should spend with each client, so what I say may prove impossible.

    The entire Adobe DRM mechanism can be quite intimidating even for literate computer;

    I guess you must have some work helping some clients of library with computer little experience.

    You may be able to obtain the additional records as a librarian; See useful http://www.lincolnlibraries.org/databases/How_to_Request_Additional_Authorizations_From_Ad obe.htm post

    If this fails, at least their support must reset your existing.
