CTRL + F 'Find' is disabled on my Firefox 34. How do I get it back?
CTRL-F ("find") in the Edit menu is disabled (i.e., "grayed out"). How do I get that back so I can search in a page? It would also be nice to have the function of status bar that brings back too.
Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:
- In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button
click Help
then select restart with disabled modules.
- In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
- On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."
If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.
When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

I have a Mac and can no longer reduce the firefox window by double-clicking the title bar in my dock since I updated to the latest version of Firefox. How to bring back this feature?
So, I was pretty upset by it. I found myself constantly opening new tabs by accident when all I wanted to do was minimize with double click as I always had. But I have solved this problem.
1. click on the tab from the menu to the far right on the top
2. click on the [+ customize] button at the bottom of the menu
3. click on [the title bar] in the lower left corner. That's all. Your title bar is back and you can double click to minimize your browser do you have for the last decade or two!

I managed to keep away the visible desktop Firefox. How can I get it back?
I can optimize it so I can use Firefox, but it disappears if I've maxed it
Alternatively, you can try the following steps:
- Use Restore or expand in the context menu of the taskbar icon to set the focus to the Firefox application if you do not see the window of Firefox.
- Open the system menu of the window of Firefox via Alt + space and see if you can move and resize the window (use the arrows on the keyboard).
If it works, then first close all other open windows of Firefox and then close Firefox via "file > exit/Quit" to save the setting.
If the above didn't help then see:

I've just updated to Firefox Beta 20. Not happy! The options "View Background Image" and "Image Mode" when you right-click is missing. How can I get that back?
These entries should still be there if you right click on an image or an area with a background image.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.
