ArchiveLogs must be independent of the specific database backups. ArchiveLogs can be used for the review (RECOVER) a database to a point in time beyond the backup database. Can I get L0 data backups once a week and backups of databases L1 on a daily basis with the ArchiveLogs daily. The ArchiveLogs should not be bound to the L0, or L1 backups but be useful to RECOVER the database to any point in time.

  • Removal of APPS_UNDOTS1 data files

    Hello
I have four data files in APPS_UNDOTS1. Which two are not used at all and they are really big. I want to reclaim space on these two data files.

In normal databases, I used to create a new tablespace and then slide the old one. But in EBS, I think that we must have the name of cancellation of TBS as APPS_UNDOTS1 according to the OATM. So how can I delete these two files.

OR I should sue the db in State of Mount, then unmold unwanted datafile UNDO.

    Thank you

So it is not compulsory to have the as APPS_UNDOTS1 undo tablespace in EBS.

The name are you referring? If Yes, then it is not mandatory, but it is always recommended to follow the convention of naming (e.g. APPS_UNDOTS).

    Thank you

  • Restore the data in the external drive using Time Machine

    Hi y ' All!

I store my photos in my external hard drive because there is not enough space in memory is internal. This is actually my second drive external hard than my first (Adata HE720) is not the beginning of last year. Unfortunately, my WD Elements has stopped working and I can't restore data using Time Machine, as the drive is not found in Time Machine under devices, and I'm sure that I restored my photo library and many other files from my old external drive using Time Machine.

Can someone tell me how to recover my old files? I have many other important data here including my photos and I don't want to lose them. I'm fairly positive that Time Machine allows me to get the data as is the point of it.

    Thank you in advance!

P.S. If you guys have any recommendation on a reliable external drive, please do tell me!

Hey guys, I found the problem.

It turns out that I'm never giving time Machine to deselect my external drive to backup; Therefore, there is absolutely no copy done during execution Time machine. I really don't understand why Apple made this the default behavior, but it is what it is.

So, people, don't forget to go to Time Machine preferences and make sure that you remove the external hard drive that you want to backup under options. Once you do, you can enter the time Machine and your drive will appear under devices.

    See you soon.

  • Synchronization of changes to contributor region data files

    Hello

We are currently the subject of a redesign of the site and, therefore, we are working on new models in the region. In addition to coding patterns, we also write new definitions of the region to accommodate the additions and deletions of several elements that relate to our new design. Currently, the items in the new definition of the region are named identical to the former definition of the region. Doing so, however, can become a maintenance problem in the future that some names are not necessarily to their end in the model and the site as a whole.

I want to do is rename these items (which are incorporated within the definition of the region) so that their names are more relevant for their new purpose. The challenge with this involves all data files existing contributor. Obviously, we don't want to repeat these contributor data files to adapt the new names within the new definition of the region. It is with this problem, that I turn to you, the experts for help: is it possible to synchronize changes made to a definition of the region so that they also appear in the contributor data files?

For example, if I have an element named "ImgLarge" I would like to rename it to "IntroImage", I would that all my data files of the contributor that are associated with this definition of the region to rename their 'wcm:element' from 'ImgLarge' to 'IntroImage '. Through testing, I noticed that this does not change the contributor data file. In fact, the contributor data file retains the existing (ImgLarge) with its data item and just creates a new element (IntroImage) for me to fill it with content. I wonder if there is a tool or process available to synchronize changes made to a definition of area out to its contributor data files until I turn to writing a script for this.

Here is a summary of what I'm looking for. Essentially, I want just the data files of contributor to resemble their definitions of the region, while keeping the same content ' if their names change.

    1. modification of the element name is reflected in the CDF (as discussed above)

    2. removal of the element leads to the deletion of the content of the CDF

    3. Add the item gets reflected in the CDF (this is done natively, as far as my requirements go).

    Thank you for your time!

There is nothing I know of out of the box which carries out this mission.

You should be able to write a custom component to do this. You will need the following:

1 search to find all IDUS who have a particular xRegionDefinition the tag on them.

    2. an analysis of the XML library.

    3. a mapping between the new values in the definition of the region and which must be replaced to the CDF.

  • How to move data files from drive C to drive E in MS SQL Server 2005 used for hyperion

    Hi all

We have installed Hyperion with MS SQL Server 2005. Hyperion 11.1.1.3 works well.

But in the SQL server data files will register in C drive only. But we have to back up the files in drive E.

I used the Attach and Detach method to move files from C drive to E drive.

After that, I am reconfiguring the EPM system. but I get errors in the configuration.

Now I get the planning of database failed when Confiuring planning.

Configuration of data source interface has failed in the Configuration of EPMA.

Please suggest the best way to make this scenario.

    Thank you

Why do you need to reconfigure after that move data files, if it is done properly it should be without data loss.

  • growth of data files

    Hello

11 GR 2, OS is not serious, the DSO is excluded in this case - only FS

I wonder what the algorithm behind the growth of the data files that belong to a tablespace, but for example for performance reasons, are placed on 2 different physical volumes.

Do you know if the Oracle Server always takes advantage of spread of these files?

What happens if we only have one huge table? -It spreads extended this tables consistently in these 2 data files?

    example:
my_huge_table is located in the USERS tablespace which consists of 2 data files:
    e:\users1.dbf
    f:\users2.dbf

My observation is that it is not expected that users evaluations1 is filled and using the file mobiles2 in parallel. However I don't know if it is reliable where performance is concerned. Please share your verified knowledge.

When you add a second data file to a tablespace after segments have already allocated punctuated in the first data file - these extensions will remain in the first data file - there is no measure of rebalancing mechanism on this layer. The new data file will then prefer to allocate extensions, if, so sooner or later, the two data files will have a fill. This behavior is independent of the type of storage to that of data files.

  • SQL Loader failed to load the same source sometimes data file

I meet different types of data, loading errors when you try to load data. What makes it really annoying, is that I'm not able to identify the real culprit since the success of load depends on the amount of lines in the source data file but not its content. I use dataset Toad export feature to create delimited data set. When I decided to take the first 50 lines then succeeds data to load into the target table. When I decide to take the first 150 lines then the data to load into the target table fails indicating that:
Record 13: Rejected - Error on table ISIKUD, column SYNLAPSI.
    ORA-01722: invalid number
I can see .bad file that the same line has been loaded successfully when the data file that contains 50 rows was used. The content has no column for this particular row is NULL (no chain).
I suspect that the toad generates faulty delimited text file when taking 150 lines. File data for reasons of confidentiality, I can't show. What can I do? How can we all further investigate this problem? Size of the array that must be loaded by SQL Loader is almost 600 MB. I use Windows XP.

  • data file header = tablespace, it belongs to

If storage space is read-only headers in the data file are not changed to reflect the name change and a message is written to the log of alerts to warn you of this fact.
