I disabled the scan to email from my AV, both for incoming & outgoing messages. It is AVG Free Edition, Ver.8.0.169.

My ISP tech support says that my setup is correct; that the problem must be a bug in my email client... "call", they say... It was at their suggestion I went from WM to WLM. So Windows XP you pretty much has the same result as Vista, regarding the sending of attachments. To exclude the server as being the cause of the problem, you should try another server. Get a free account with Gmail, which will allow
    you try their server smtp.gmail.com.

What happens here?  At the opening of some of my programs I suddely the message:

I thought that using the protocol HTTPS is safe for all it's content.

What must I do tget rid of this disturbing interrupyion and still be safe.

    Thank you

    Jim Bachner.

    Hi Jim,.

First of all, this is not recommended.  While I'm going to show you how little (after the second break), it is not really a way to remove it AND be always careful.  Its purpose is to protect you since removing the method by which the notice appears, you remove the security it provides as well (but I'll tell you anyway, and you can choose to follow the advice not to do or risk of your computer and the security of your computer and personal information that the decision belongs to you).

    ***********************************************************************************

But first, here is a slightly modified to pay tribute to this topic, by Rob Koch you need to keep in mind:

This message was created because the content of the site should never be mixed in the first place. This is extremely bad design and shows a cynical disregard for designing a secure web site. It is often the result of sloppy either coding or, more often, a lack of server resources in order to support the SSL of the images or other content [often third-party advertising].

See this blog page for a brief discussion of this and how developers should determine the cause of this on their pages of 'trust '.

    http://blog.HttpWatch.com/2009/04/23/fixing-the-IE-8-warning-do-you-want-to-view-only-the-webpage-content-that-was-delivered-securely/

And here is the official Microsoft article, please read the whole thing to see why they suggest you do this. When they mention 'secure content', think that name to username/password or other form data as info credit card on the same page where you let this mixed content.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2625928

You must consider the dangerous site and not to provide any information of nature personal or even use the site at all if possible. If you need to use it, they should complain to the site management on the shoddy security methods so developers or other responsible for this pressure of receipt of choice to improve aspects of the security of their web site.

    ***********************************************************

If you decide to ignore the advice and do it anyway, you'll be surprised when you see how easy it is. And it's the job of the IE and not of MSE.

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools / Internet Options / Security / custom level. Scroll down to "Display mixed content" and change it to "Enabled". Click OK and then again click OK, and then close all tabs and Windows Open IE. That's all.

The next time that you open and use IE, you will never again see this notice.

I hope this helps. I am pretty sure it will solve the problem and pray that if you do, you are causing yourself even worse problems well beyond the simple discomfort, it's now.

    Good luck!

  • Why do I get ' Windows Live Mail error ID: ox8de2007 ".

If I try to contact someone to a Web site. Live Mail won't send it. I get this error message

    This can happen if

    1. WLMail does not run when you click a m a i l t o: link in a message or a web page.
    2. The default account in WLMail is a Hotmail type account (@hotmail. *, @msn.com, @live * and many other areas);
    3. The default account is configured to use HTTP via DeltaSync (the default value).

The solution is to ensure that Windows Live Mail is running before clicking on a link.

Windows Live Mail has its own support at the Windows Live Solution Centerforums. Please address any other question you may have on one of the forums on the right side of this page. You are probably asked to give your version of WLMail and Windows so that the answer may be more accurate. In WLMail to find your version of the software, a press on ALT - H. If it doesn't show you the version and the build number, press on escape to two times, and then Alt - F B.

  • "sessions is expired" message often received when you try to connect to my Windows Live Hotmail account, why?

I noticed a very bad trend of Windows Live Hotmail to generate the message, ' theSession has been exceeded' when I try to log into my email account.  It occurred when I just connected to my Hotmail account & need to reconnect, but also does not happen when I was offline for several hours and then try to connect to my Hotmail account.

It quickly became more than a bother, and it got to a point I think seriously, just to close my Hotmail account altogether and go with another provider, or just use my ISP as my main email service.  It is enough, I will wait, wait and wait, Windows Live Hotmail bad to take its * old time to throw up its ads before I can even open an email in my Inbox!

How about it Microsoft?  Care to explain this absurd mess?

  • Windows Live mail received sends do not. Sudden

Hi people, I have trawled through many discussions about a similar problem, but they have all turned out to be customers of Comcast.

Just changed ISP from one company to the other. and it will still receive mail, but sending messages sit in the Outbox, where this error message.

The connection to the server has failed.

    Subject "GREETINGS FROM LYNDON."
    Server: 'smtp.orangehome.co.uk '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC0E
    Protocol: SMTP
    Port: 25
    Secure (SSL): No.
    Socket error: 10013

    Any advice?

To try to deter spammers, your new service provider may not be allowing you to send messages through someone else (Orange) Server SMTP on port 25. Who is the new ISP?

In the meantime, try this: right-click on the account name in the folders pane, and then select Properties.

    • On the servers tab, select my server requires authentication.
    • On the Advanced tab, change the port to 587outgoing mail server.

Delete all messages waiting for the Outbox (below the records of account in the folders pane), then dial a new test message with a single topic and send it to yourself. Post a new message in your response.

I had problems with windows live mail, I uninstalled it, now I have no mail at all, I was using windows vista

    Hello

You can download, install, and configure Windows Live Mail again or use Windows Mail, which is the default email program in Vista.

How to set up Windows Mail.

Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider); They provide your broadband / dial connection.

    Ask them to:

    1. your username with them

    2. your password with them.

    3 incoming mail POP3 server.

    4. the outgoing mail SMTP server

All the settings that you need to come from them, not Microsoft; and they are usually happy to help you set up your e-mail program.

You can use this guide to set up Windows Mail:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-mail-setting-up-an-account-from-start-to-finish

    See you soon.

  • Windows live mail does not retrieve messages unless a restart occurs first. Why?

Window live mail will not recover messages unless I restart my pc. If I reboot and then open direct mail all right, but if I wait a few hours (perhaps a shorter time...) I do not know) and try to retrieve the messages it just hinders is when extracting them... I get no error message, it's just trying to get back the message without success. If I then reboot my pc, direct mail works (until next time).

  • Export of all fields in Windows Live Mail

When I try to export contacts in Live Mail under the comma separated values (.) CSV option), only some fields are listed in the export.  For example the field called "another significant" is not listed as one that is to be exported.  Similarly, if I try to export using the business card (.) VCF option), I don't get a choice of which fields to export, but the field "other significant" is not exported.

I use Windows 7.  This question was asked by someone in the forum for Vista, but the response simply treated the export procedure, without addressing the issue that all some fields are not exported.
