Why are these so difficult basic actions?

I'm new to CS6 but no video editing tools. I am shocked that some basic controls are missing or hard to find. Can someone tell me if there is a convenient way to:

  • Enter a number (for example '00;) 00; 04; "00") to specify the duration of a clip or a set of clips? I can't find a place to do so in the effect controls window.
  • Expand or shrink the timeline view without using the clumsy Ctrl - + keystrokes or manipulate the tiny slider below the timeline? Perhaps a simple gesture?
  • Select a very narrow (short) when hovering over clip clip produces only fittings cursors? I don't want to expand and compress the timeline just for that.

Thank you!

  • Enter a number (for example '00;) 00; 04; "00") to specify the duration of a clip or a set of clips? I can't find a place to do so in the effect controls window.

Don't know what that means.

You can Alt + roll the mouse wheel.

  • Select a very narrow (short) when hovering over clip clip produces only fittings cursors? I don't want to expand and compress the timeline just for that.

Very irritating and the source of many complaints on the release.

Unfortunately, this is unlikely to change in the CS6.

CS6 get bug fixes and security updates. but I'm sure

It would be in the "new" category

The consolation is that it is better in CC7 *.

  • Why are these networks 0033, livedoor-web, mobilepoint shows on my wireless network connection

Why are these networks 0033, livedoor-web, mobilepoint shows on my wireless network connection? At Microsoft this downloaded without my knowledge in my laptop in the network connection and the internet? Are these safe to use and that they cause to slow down the internet connection?

Your wireless network card is just a receiver (transmitter).  As for a 'normal' radio on which you are listening to music, news, sports, etc., your wireless network card will 'listen' to any nearby wireless network and provide you with a list of these networks:

Wireless networks that do not require a security password appear with the icon of the shield, as the "linksys" network in the figure above.

In general, you should only connect to networks that you know are secure: your own, networks that you know the password, or maybe a public network such as those provided by restaurants and other commercial establishments.

None of the networks that list you are likely to be public networks.  You will not be able to connect (because you do not know the password) or you should not connect because they might be dangerous.

  • Why are these blurry photos?

I have a Canon Rebel T3i. I took a few pictures of group w/tripod, without tripod, w/flash, no flash, different openings, many on automatic mode. All about the autofocus. All of them come out blurry, especially people on the ends. The joint may seem small ok on this web page, but if download you it and watch it 100% you will see what I mean. I have two cameras T3i and they both give the same results. I'd probably get a better photo with a phone. Any ideas?

The lens is a Canon EF 18-135. Photos taken at 1/8 to 1/250 shutter speeds and F3. 5 - f9.0. Why the fact that the ends are more blurry implies it is a poor quality lens? Should what kind of lens I buy? Thank you

The 18-135 has a pretty good reputation, but for that you would use it at the wide end. Lenses with a long zoom range (and yours is long enough) tend to be more marked in the middle of their range to the ends. The ends of your group are fuzzy because the sharpness falls off because the topic becomes more distant from the center of the lens. More expensive lenses tend to do a better job to minimize this effect. 1/8 of a second will work normally if you are using a tripod, but it's too slow for this kind of picture, because the subjects will move. I wouldn't use anything slower than 1/160 for group photos, the only exception being if a flash powers most of the light. For group photos, I use the Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 IS usually on a 7 d body. This lens is very good and cheaper than it used to be. If this goal would solve your problem, I don't know. Maybe you could rent or borrow one and try it. Note that while you would always use it at the wide end, he doesn't have to worry about being strong at 135 mm.

"When I turn off my computer, I have an icon of" ready to install update "in the upper right of the button 'disable' located between the"stand by"and"restart"buttons. In the past, I would occasionally get one of these notices, but now they happen whenever I'm on the computer. What are these updates and why they are so common and if they pose a threat to my computer?

    Hi Michael,

    Try the following.

Step 1: Check if there is lack of updates.

    a. click Start, click all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.

    (c) in the State of this window column, find the update failed to install and then click on the red X. A new window opens that displays the installation error code.

    d. Note the error number. (If any).

Step 2: reset Windows Update components and then install updates. Visit the following link and click on Fixit.

  • Discussion questions with rebel eos of cannon during the action of street shootings? Why are my blurry pictures?

In situations on a tripod or in most other situations my camera and objectives seem to focus well. In a stable situation where the subject does not have many, I simply turn the wheel around the focal point I want the camera to focus on my photos are usually good, but I found that I love street photography and capture people who do things. Sometimes, they are moving toward or away from me. .. I use a wide-angle F2.8 and generally have no worries to keep larger than the focal length shutter speed... I keep the camera autofocus and AWB... So why are both my photos blurry... I don't have time to every shot to lift the unit and turn the wheel to emphasize a particular point if I usually leave a central development... What should I do to get my shots in short without looking through the viewfinder with each stroke?

Note that the update "AI Servo" difference in mode of development of "One Shot" in terms of what it does when you press the shutter button.

In "One Shot" mode, the device uses "Focus priority".  This means that the camera will NOT take a hit if the lens is in auto-focus mode until it can confirm that he was able to focus on the selected AF point (or on a Focus point if you let point AF Auto selection) in brief: realize the development is more important than shooting at the precise moment when you press the button.  That's why "focus priority".

In "AI Servo" mode, the device uses "release priority".  This means that when you press the shutter button completely, the device will take the shot immediately and it will do so if he had time to reach the focus... or not.    In short: capture the shot at the precise moment when you press the shutter button is more important to achieve focus.   That's why "release priority".

If you quickly press the shutter button to take a picture, the camera will shoot first and development worry later.  You half - press the shutter to allow the device to reach to the point before you fully - press the key.

  • Why are there redundant for Microsoft Security Essentials download sites?

    Original title: Microsoft Security Essentials:

At the insistence of some other people on this community, I decided to start another thread for this exact same topic:

Why are there redundant for Microsoft Security Essentials download sites? I went on the first site in my search on the web:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=520

It looks pretty official to me, however, there is only one problem with the above site. Download options are way too vague for us lay people. After publication on the website of MS Community, I was quickly corrected on my ad which does not seem to be an idle thread and offered a link to download the instructions and frequently asked questions that did not work. Much later, I was offered another site to download with different language options and a more detailed description of download:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Security-Essentials-all-versions

Well, I have to ask the same question again, but in a different way: why society billions of dollars allows this kind of nonsense (multiple and various download sites on the web) occur under their name? Excuse me if I look a little frustrated on this problem, but I am!

Here's what the site was used initially. I still don't know which version to download for use on this site. The only distinction: "amd64" or "x 86". I don't know looking below that mean both.

    Version:
    Date of publication:

    4.4.0304.0

    10/11/2013

    Name of the file:
    File size:

    ENUS\amd64\MSEInstall.exe

    13.0 MB

    ENUS\x86\MSEInstall.exe

  • Why are my smaller placed images that I expect?

I am designing a game of cards bridge-size for printerstudio.com in InDesign, and will be given merge in images of a worksheet.  I have 128 photos in photoshop for the Basemaps which are defined in pixels exactly 1122 x 747, the metadata says 300 DPI.

I create a new document in InDesign and have set the size of the document to 1050 x 675 pixels with a 36 pixel bleed and margin 36 pixel, which puts the total size more bleed to 1122 x 747, which is what I want.  I also tried the same values, except as points.

When the image of places, it is much smaller than I expect, and well as info link, the properties of the image are 1122 x 747, real and effective 300 PPI, when I measure on the page that it is said that it is 269.28 x 179,28 pt or px, according to what I have to change the preference.  However, if I measure in inches, this is the correct 3.75 by 2.5 nominal without bleeding.

So obviously the document assumes a 72 dots per inch of resolution and 1 pixel = 1 point, instead of the 300 pixels per inch, I want to be, and it changes the size of image pixel to match the correct size of real thumb.

I found that I can work this around by setting my document to 3.75 x 2.5 inches, which makes some sense, but I cannot wrap the head around why it behave the way which it doesn't.

So, why is a document of 1122 pixels x 747 pixels size actually a document of 269,28 pixels 179,28 pixels?  I want just a canvas 1122 x 747 pixels which is completely filled by a picture of pixel 1122 x 747 placed.  Why is it so difficult?

When you select pixels of your unit, ID maps to a rule unit equal to 1 pt, so your leaders are 72 dpi.

When you pass, if you save the image at 300 dpi, it also includes a physical dimension which is the number of pixels divided by the resolution. ID reads this physical dimension and use it as a scale of 100%, so your image seems to have been scaled down, but it's the same pixels, crammed into a small space. Scaling upwards or downwards in ID has no effect Watt on information in pixels in the image.

Pixels have no physical size. If you print your picture on a balloon, you can jump to the top very great, and the number of pixels of the image does not change. Similarly, resolution has no meaning until you put an image in physical form. As jump you the ball the pixels of the image even change resolution in inverse ratio to the amount of expansion. ID works in the physical world. Your pages have 'real' dimensions and you you size content to fit these dimensions as you want.

    Why are my synths distorting?

Particularly film patches such as erosion and SFX. At first they seem like a lot, but after a while, as I work on the file, they develop distortions, sounds like static.

The only solution I have found is sometimes I can create a new track from scratch and copy the notes (from the track on distortion) to him - but this does not always work.

So far, I worked on three projects in a row where this has happened. Once he arrives, he is not resolve, even with a reboot.

  • Why are cookies not deleted when I close Firefox?

    Hey,.

My problem is that I put Tools / Options / Privacy / history to "Use the custom settings for history", then under "cookies", I put keep up to the: to the "closing of Firefox".

Yet, when I close my browser and restart any of the cookies are deleted. If I register my tabs, I be online on Web sites that are open in the saved tabs. But even if I close the site and then leave. The site, and then reopen after having restarted Firefox, I am always connected. While Firefox is defined do not remember my user name or password, the only way this can happen is through cookies. Therefore, cookies are not deleted. But I can also see it in the list of cookies: it is full of old stuff.

So why are cookies not deleted despite this setting?

Firefox has beeen quite soft on the life private lately, and frankly I do not understand why. The possibility of having more than X days History automatically deleted is also long gone, and now this cookie setting does not, either.

If you reopen tabs automatically next time then Firefox stores cookies from these default tabs as part of session data in the sessionstore.js file.

You can set the browser.sessionstore.privacy_level pref 2 (never) or 1 (not HTTPS) on the topic: config page to disable the registration of cookies via session restore.

The browser.sessionstore.privacy_level_deferred pref is used when you do not reopen last session automatically via "show my windows and tabs from last time" and use the same values.

  • Why are there updates as long as there is no place for the programs they update?

I have a Sony notebook with windows XP operating system. Whenever I turn it on, I have more updates. It got to the point that there is no more space left on the drive C for programs that are updated. Why are updates written so sloppily? Would not take more attention to the space used by these updates? My first computer was a 10 meg hard drive and it works perfectly, now 14 gigs is not enough. Must we have 500 gigs to run windows? Does this reader size filling too in time? Is there a way to provide more space on my hard drive without replace or remove the original programs IE. Windows? Cant I consolidate updates into a lighter version to date of a program without updates? I wonder if a total format would help even at this stage.   HERE COMES UPDATES!

If you run out of space on the hard drive of your computer, you do not have a large enough hard to meet your needs drive and/or you have not successful space.

You have posted in forum Windows XP and Windows XP with all updates since the beginning and a Suite of office of your choice and a picture/photo editing application of your choice and alternative browsers of your choice and several Internet Plugins for each of these browsers installed with an assortment of other applications should take between 4.5 GB and 10 GB of disk space.  Which leaves you, with your stuff, the rest of the car in question.

If you are comfortable with the stability of your system, you can delete the uninstall of patches which has installed Windows XP...

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...
(These instructions will be different depending on the version of IE that run you.)

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.
