Why certain blocked/unavailable features with firefox?

Hello community,

My apologies if this has been talked about before, but I couldn't find a good answer to my question.

Why Firefox is not supported with the help of Captivate first?

That Adobe has preferred browsers is fine, but I notice some features are blocked/not available when using Firefox as browser.

Comments of my students makes it more and more frustrating for them to participate in the training.

Could someone please explain the reason behind this for me?

(I really try to understand and do not complain)

Thanks in advance!

Sincerely,

Sean

Hi Sean,.

There was a problem with the playback of content on Firefox

We are still working on and that is why we recommend not to use.

Thank you

Deepak

  • Why flickr does not work with firefox

I'm trying to copy images/textures on flickr via a right click on the photo. I don't get the option to see all the dimensions of the image and/or download it or copy the image. These aren't protected files, the owner is available for free to anyone who wants them. I am able to copy these on my hard disk with internet explorer, but not with firefox. I prefer to use firefox. Is there a solution to this problem? Thank you.

Hi Lisa, my screenshot is from Firefox on Windows 7 27. When I open this page in Internet Explorer 8, the image is full-width and the sidebar controls appear below the image. Flickr also said that ie8 is not supported. In any case, try to view the full image size and using the menu «...» "instead of right-clicking. If I think of a faster way, I'll post back.

  • on my desk: Windows Firewall has blocked some features of Firefox public and private networks? What does that mean?

I turned on my lap and a huge dialog box appears with the message above. I didn't know whether to 'Access' or 'Cancel' then just closed. Please explain.

Firefox 36 requires the Firefox Windows to create new access rules, and Windows asks if you really want to do this.

I do not think that these rules are necessary for the current version, but are designed to take account of the features provided in a future release, so you can cancel it just for the moment.

  • Why is wmiprvse.exe begins with Firefox 32.0.1 under XP SP3?

Whenever I run Firefox, I see wmiprvse.exe load as a running process. I see this using Process Explorer from Sysinternals. This happened since I updated to the current version of Firefox (32.0.1). It also occurs whenever I start the latest version of Thunderbird (31.1.1). I have two questions:

    1. is this a normal behavior?
    2. If so, why is it necessary?

And just to clarify things, I researched for HOURS using 'my friend' Google. I also tried to get the answers to these questions in the various forums without success. My copy of wmiprvse.exe is NOT infected (I ran across Virustotal) and is located only where it is supposed to be on my hard drive.

Please help me by joining answers to the two questions I and do not forget that I am talking only about XP SP3.

  • In IE9, it has a zoom feature that is the size of the screen larger or smaller. I don't find any such feature with Firefox. Can he do this? Do not confuse my question with 'full screen '.

In IE9, under Tools, there are a zoom feature that adjusts the viewing size. Zoom in or Zoom out. Is this possible in Firefox?

If you select the menu bar, the View Menu contains a Zoom feature. You can also access the shortcut Ctrl + and Ctrl - if you are not using the menu bar. If you have a mouse wheel, you can hold Ctrl and scroll up and down to use the Zoom feature.

I believe that by default, the Zoom feature only increases the size of the text. You can change this by activating the Menu bar and unchecking 'Zoom text only', as indicated in the pictures below.

I thought it would be FAFSA is causing your problem.

Install Portable Firefox 3.6.x on your hard drive to a Web site. This will not affect any of your current Firefox installation.

  • PDF. JS is no longer compatible with Firefox 35 and more. Why is it not be deleted?

Noticed that PDF Viewer PDF. JS is not compatible with Firefox version 35 and more.
    Then why not delete it?
    Wine

Since you have already installed, why not just update?

For what is 'user' vs 'Developer', like the other reviewer mentioned, pdf.js is already integrated into Firefox for quite some time now and is enabled by default. There is nothing that needs to be installed unless you want to keep testing the 'extension' version which updates with new features and fixes more frequently than update of 6 calendar weeks for versions of Firefox. If this is the case, just update.

    https://github.com/Mozilla/PDF.js
Scroll to the getting started > browser Extensions, Firefox-> development Version = click on it - then 'Allow' the hanging door that appears below the address bar on the left side.

I saw your answer 2nd straight - on PDF. JS modules Web site. I don't see that what listed there more. I have no idea if or why it was deleted, but it will always update this area for users who have already installed. If someone else wants the extension, I guess they will have to get it from GitHub. I can only speculate that, overall, it is sufficiently developed by now that Mozilla doesn't have users more to test the advanced version and code that comes in Firefox works well enough.

  • Flash blocker does not work with Firefox 28.0

I'm on Windows 7 Pro with 28.0 Firefox and Flash blocker 4.20.13 installed. Flash blocker doesn't block Flash in web pages. How can I get Flash Blocker to block Flash applications in web pages?

I'm not familiar with this particular extension. The reviews seem to indicate it does not work for everyone.

Here's how you can enable "click-to-play", a built-in feature of Firefox for Flash. This will delay the Flash start on a page, until you approve.

To set the Flash to "Ask to activate", open the page of modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

In the left column, click on Plugins. Search 'Shockwave Flash' and always change 'enable' to 'ask to activate '.

When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification in the address bar icon and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an information bar slides between the toolbar and in the page area.

Once you approve Flash on a site, all the movies on the page will be charge. If you want to control one by one, there is a different extension, designed to work with click-to-play function of Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/click-to-play-per-element/

    I hope that helps?

  • Why we have stupid fundamental problems with firefox?

I have jre1.6_u31 installed on a Windows 7 and the brilliant
Firefox keep telling me I need to install the plugin missing jre_1.6_u29 when I try to run an applet... a simple applet! The plugin does not appear on the Add-ons Manager then I use 'Check your plugins' and the stupid answer is: "for your security, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Java. Please install the latest version. »

I'm a developer and I develop I do not have the patient of time trying to solve the basic problems of firefox. If you don't know how to solve problems and then stop to develop it and save us headache.

Have you updated Java lately? You say that you have jre1.6_u31 installed, but 'Java (TM) Platform SE 6 U31' does not appear in the folder Plugins with your question (click on "Details of the system more" right of your original message of the question). To activate, addons > Plugins and enable the item.

If your OS is 64-bit, and you have 32-bit browsers (Firefox) and 64-bit installed browsers, then you must install the 32-bit and 64-bit Java.

  • Cannot download files via yousend it with firefox but with safari - why? (mac)

I use yousendit to send files regularly and successfully for the past 2 years, always with Firefox. Suddenly, after you attach a file, the screen always says "connecting", but I have never so much as to see a time bar download. YouSendIt support suggested trying the site with safari and it worked - have I clicked on something stupid in firefox without realizing? YouSendIt support had no idea why this would be a problem... I prefer firefox and use it to every other web browsing activity and it is very good - the only problem is with yousendit, something that I need for my work almost every day! Ideas greatly appreciated!

    Hi carriepatsalis,

You might want to make sure that all of your plugins are up-to-date:

    https://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/pluginCheck/

I know that some sites depend on flash for their download features. You can also try from Firefox Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode. If you do not have the issue so that all your modules, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the guide to troubleshooting Extensions and themes and article troubleshooting issues with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems as well.

    Hope this helps!

  • Why can't I see a padlock in the URL bar Bank / purchase etc. with Firefox? How can I find out link is secure?

Usually, when banking, or buy something online, there will be
a padlock symbol to ensure that your transaction/payment information is secure. This is usually seen in the address URL search bar, but I don't see that with Firefox. Why?

You have more the Status bar which showed the padlock in previous versions of Firefox in Firefox 4.

The padlock shows only that there is a secure connection and does not guarantee that you are connected to the right server.

So you could always be connected to the wrong server if you make a typing mistake in the URL and someone said that mistyped the URL.

The lock feature has been replaced by the How do I know if my connection to a Web site is secure? on the left end of the address bar.

You can use this extension to get a lock on the address bar.
