  • Why flickr does not work with firefox

I'm trying to copy images/textures on flickr via a right click on the photo. I don't get the option to see all the dimensions of the image and/or download it or copy the image. These aren't protected files, the owner is available for free to anyone who wants them. I am able to copy these on my hard disk with internet explorer, but not with firefox. I prefer to use firefox. Is there a solution to this problem? Thank you.
    Lisa Hatter

Hi Lisa, my screenshot is from Firefox on Windows 7 27. When I open this page in Internet Explorer 8, the image is full-width and the sidebar controls appear below the image. Flickr also said that ie8 is not supported. In any case, try to view the full image size and using the menu «...» "instead of right-clicking. If I think of a faster way, I'll post back.

  • Why is there the icons collection (with blue arrows) on my files and folders network?

I've never seen before, it has just appeared this morning.

    That is right.

You can check your offline files by going to start-> Controlpanel-> offline files

Here you can also turn it off if you have not (especially useful on laptops)

  • Why are there two icons all at once in my URL (Google manage requests and queries to manage Facebook) that I can't control?

    Hey Mozilla. ~

In the area of ADDRESS of Firefox, there are two icons on the right, just to the left of the arrow in the drop-down arrow and refresh. They seem to be to Google and Facebook, both with ToolTips who say, 'see and manage applications. The drop down menu allows me to manage their link friend requests, but "Go to Menu" and "Remove from toolbar" grey outside and no action.

Q1 - How are they there?
Q2 - How can I prevent them being placed automatically in the future of these abusers of privacy?
Q3 - what they are in the URL field?
Q4 - if the menu context menu has disabled the option "Remove from Toolbar", how can I remove them?

FWIW, I have accounts at Google and Facebook but trust neither and if them were blocked by all possible means to look at me, sending me notifications, do something 'for' me, etc.. My Add - ons may be visible in my account, but in general they are related to the Organization: "Group Tabs", "Bookmarks" or my custom work process: 'Send to Kindle', 'HTTPS Everywhere' and 'disconnect intimacy. " I hope this helps.

In a world of sharks and blood-suckers online, I hope that Mozilla to help me to be safe. Thank you for helping me to understand what Google and Facebook, go to my URL field.

  • Why certain blocked/unavailable features with firefox?

    Hello community,

My apologies if this has been talked about before, but I couldn't find a good answer to my question.

Why Firefox is not supported with the help of Captivate first?

That Adobe has preferred browsers is fine, but I notice some features are blocked/not available when using Firefox as browser.

Comments of my students makes it more and more frustrating for them to participate in the training.

Could someone please explain the reason behind this for me?

(I really try to understand and do not complain)

    Thanks in advance!

    Sean

  • Is there a problem with firefox does not, it's happening on all our computers at work and at home. It takes about 10 seconds, then stops responding.

I read FF posts of the community, and it seems to be a problem with a lot of ppl. It happened for about 3 days now on all our computers at home and work. This cannot just be linked to a computer if this happens for many. I was wondering if there is a general problem with FF, is that what is happening for many users. When I start FF I am lucky to get 10 sec before it does more, ready to give FF film! I use it in safe mode now & use of IE next until I find another solution other than resetting FF. FF should maybe see if there is a problem at their end, & then show us how to fix it.

To return to regard to extensions, you can view and update the extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Click the "gear" above the list, and then use the check for updates.

You can also disable non-essential or unrecognized extensions (or so obviously not good, remove them).

Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled/removed to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Any improvement?

  • Why is there a gap with disk space?

I have an old hard drive of an older XP machine. I connected it outside to take a glance of data for backup purposes. The hard drive is 80 GB, and Windows reports that there are 21GB free (or 69GB used). If I take the properties of all the files (including hidden and system files), it showed a value of 60 GB of data. I made a clone of the disc and that the container was also 60 GB. Why "Camembert" said 69GB? Where the 9FR? I also run Chkdsk as well.

I'm nervous that I'm missing some data...

You have at least three different things that may be confusing you.

The reason most likely for a "gap" as big as 9 GB is the System Volume Information folder.  This 'super' hidden folder is mainly used for system restore points, but also may include databases indexing (when you allow the default behavior of "Allow the Indexing Service to index this disk for fast searching of files").  Even if you can see the folder System Volume Information in Windows Explorer when you uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files" option, it reports a size of 0 bytes - regardless of what is actually in the file.

Although there is a way to access the IVR - which is strongly discouraged - folder start by opening the system restore and see how much you have restore points.  By default, Windows XP allocates 12% of the size of the partition to restore the system, so if you have a nominal 80 GB partition, you 9.6 GB allocated for SR.  Assuming you did spin for a while, this allocation is probably filled (restoration of old points are deleted on a FIFO basis as new are created).

If you are reasonably confident in the stability of your system, run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr.exe > OK) and select the tab 'other options '.  Then click on the "Clean up" button in the "System Restore" section to remove all but the last restore point.  If you do this, my guess is that your 9 GB gap will disappear.

In addition to the SVI folder, there are a couple of relatively minor points:

Not all 'gigabytes' are the same.  When a drive manufacturer says you have a 80 GB drive, it means that your player has about 80,000,000,000 bytes.  Windows reports a drive of this size as having 80,000,000,000 / 1.073.741.824 = 74.51 GB (where 1.073.741.824 is 1024 * 1024 * 1024).

In addition, there is a difference between the number of bytes in a file (the ' size' reported by Windows when you examine the properties of a file) and the space occupied by the file on the hard drive.  Windows is reported as the size of the file 'on the disk."

More recent operating systems Windows, including XP, the default size 'cluster' for readers to the NTFS format is 4 KB.  See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/140365.  When a file is recorded on the hard disk, it occupies a whole number of clusters.  On average, half the size of cluster is "lost" for each file stored.  For a player with a normal mixture of sizes of files and about 150 000 files, only about 300 MB of space will be wasted.

PS: You should reduce the allocation of space SR to 1 GB.  See http://bertk.mvps.org/html/diskspace.html

  • Why is wmiprvse.exe begins with Firefox 32.0.1 under XP SP3?

Whenever I run Firefox, I see wmiprvse.exe load as a running process. I see this using Process Explorer from Sysinternals. This happened since I updated to the current version of Firefox (32.0.1). It also occurs whenever I start the latest version of Thunderbird (31.1.1). I have two questions:

    1. is this a normal behavior?
    2. If so, why is it necessary?

And just to clarify things, I researched for HOURS using 'my friend' Google. I also tried to get the answers to these questions in the various forums without success. My copy of wmiprvse.exe is NOT infected (I ran across Virustotal) and is located only where it is supposed to be on my hard drive.

Please help me by joining answers to the two questions I and do not forget that I am talking only about XP SP3.

  • Why is there no warning that firefox 4 does not run on a powermac? where can I find firefox 3.6 to reinstall?

Then I answered a command prompt (by running Firefox 3.6 on my powermac) to download and install Firefox 4. Great! Well, install and replace 3.6 went well, but trying to open Firefox 4 there is a message saying that the material he has not supported. OK fine. But now I don't have firefox. Where can I find 3.6.16 to install?

The beta of Firefox 4 a few months ago DID run, so it's curious.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

For Mac OS X 10.4.11 or Mac OS X 10.5.8, you can watch:

I use firefox 10.0.3 and using JAWS 13 to read on the screen.
I put the attribute "aria-labelledby" for the duration, and only first item's content has been read that even I put three 'id' for this attribute. It can work perfectly in IE8.

    Hello!

I think you don't need the ARIA markup for what you're trying to accomplish. Firefox has very sophisticated algorithms correctly make accessible data tables. You are already using line and column inside the table headers, and you use the attribute headers etc. You don't need the extra markup role and aria-labelledby to create the table works the way you want. JAWS 13 also supports this interface table and should work without all the stuff of WAI-ARIA. I think because we have this sophisticated table interface, the largest part of the ARIA markup is ignored inside the correctly marked data tables.

Make a test without the ARIA markup and report if you still have problems.

Note that Firefox 11 improves even a couple of these things in the data tables still further, you can update.

  • Why are there two icons for my P1102w in devices and printers, Windows 7 Pro?

I've recently updated the firmware and drivers on a LaserJet P1102w and now have two icons in devices and printers on Windows 7 Pro. An icon is correct and functional; the other is basically an icon that does not work and it reads series of printers HP LaserJet P1100. Functional icon reads the printer HP LaserJet 1102w (which is correct). If a single UN-installs the unusable icon, Windows just charge drivers to re - start. Is it possible to get rid of this icon?

    The problem has been resolved.

HP Smart Install apparently was the problem. It is that I have updated the firmware and drivers to the latest (version October 2012) that the problem started. I used the HP CD and run the utility to disable Smart Install. I managed to remove the second icon, and he never returned.

When I bought the printer, Smart Install worked fine, but not after the firmware upgrade.
