As a result of one of these points, a possible culprit would be an extension. If you prefer a little troubleshooting before using Refresh...

You can view, turn off and often remove unwanted extensions or unknowns on the page modules. Either:

    • Command + shift + a (Windows: Ctrl + Shift + a)
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, take a critical look on the list on the right side. All extensions are optional. When in doubt, turn off.

  • Help! I can't change the search engine for the Firefox widget on my home screen

OK, so my engine failure to research on FF for Android is Duckduckgo. It is also the only one I have in my list of search engines in FF settings. I also use the search widget FF on my homescreen for quick search. It is and has always been, Duckduckgo. But, all of a sudden after the recent update (I use the FF, 36 beta something), for my search widget on my home screen, switched to Google search engine! I don't know why... I never use it. But this applies only to the search engine for the FF search on my home screen widget, not when I'm looking for something in FF itself. Does anyone else have this problem? Because I can't find a way to change the search engine in the FF widget... Looked everywhere in search widget settings and in FF itself. Thanks for the help of any body!

I found a way to implement back to DuckDuckGo after a bit of fiddling with the default search engine in the browser.

I think that the update should have overridden the setting somehow. What you need to do is to any other search engine default, then set DuckDuckGo returned as default. This will also update engine of the widget's default search.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to change the sort order of the items sought for the last element of this research first. I DON'T want to say the order search engines, but the existing research by arrow down

I want to be able to change the sort order of the items, I already looked in the search box. I want to be able to hit the arrow key down and see my previous searches in order of last search showing the first. For the moment, I don't know how it is sorting and it is very annoying to have to re - enter a query that I typed 5 minutes earlier, but because I typed in another 10 since it's lost somewhere in the list. Is it possible, I Googled, but did not find the topic anywhere. Just to clarify, I DON'T mean of the order of the search engines (which is what appears in google), I mean that the text typed into which has been registered in the drop-down list.

'Form filling' uses a "frecency" algorithm, frequency + recency, similar to the list of AutoComplete address bar.

I found an extension that seems relevant, but critics are old, so I'm not sure it's still working: Searchbar Autocomplete Order.

But... is the AutoComplete does not? I expect that typing a few characters of the previous query would be to filter the list so that you can easily select? Or is the problem that the list does not remember quite who looking for?

  • How to pass the bar of search engine in the old design, where I could spend the engine of research instead of having to click on the

Hello, unfortunately, I have updated to Firefox 50.0 without realizing a lot of my modules and apparently my search bar would be altered... The modules except for (what seems to be "they are not signed" that I hope will be fixed at some point by itself), the search bar, it's really what grinds my gears.

I think I've had this problem before and after weeks of trying, I could fix it, but for the life of me I don't know what to look for to fix, or what I did.

My problem is that I have several search engines, and I often STAY on a SEO and looking for several things. I used to be able to click on the button to default search engine (which is now a magnifying glass) and select the search engine, I want to use AND CONTINUE to USE it until I CHANGE IT to SOMETHING else.

The path before the update was so: click on the magnifying glass symbol / google-> select a search engine, for example Wikipedia-> enter something I want to search-> it shows results on wikipedia-> do not click on anything whatsoever, but rather just enter something into the search again-> it searches on wikipedia.

Now, it's this... Click the magnifying glass-> click on wikipedia-> enter something-> it searches on google-> realize you must click on the wikipedia button AFTER entering in the things-> click button wiki now-> it research wiki-> enter something new-> it goes to google. -> get really angry and slam your head against the table-> click the wikipedia-> realize I clicked the wrong language wiki, since I have 4 of them right next to each other-> hit enter once again-> it goes to google-> quit smoking.

So yes... is there a way the helm of research back to the old design, where there was a LIST of engines of research instead of buttons, and she kept the search engine locked up until you have selected something again.

  • My default search engine has been on anything other than Google. How to switch this back?

Somehow my default search engine has been changed to Google to what is called "My Web Search". I want to switch to Google, but I can't figure out how. I disabled the plugin and removed my options of search engine in the top right, but nothing has changed.

You have My Web Search installed; Look under Tools > Modules > Plugins. He could have grafted in on something that you have installed. Always seek and opt-out when installing other programs and Add-ons that you install from sites other than the site of Mozilla Add-ons. My search on the Web is considered malware/adware/spyware by many. You must remove it.

Step 1. You can check if you have one of these installed ' Fun Web products ' :
Control Panel > add or remove programs: Ask.com Bar, my search bar, of the MyWay Bar speed, my search on the Web Bar, Fun Web products Easy Installer

    http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/troubleshooting+plugins#Manually_uninstalling_a_plugin

Step 2 You may need to change a preference to reset your default URL/location bar search engine:
-Enter Subject: config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key
-If you see a cautionary, accept it (promise you'll be careful)
    -Filter = keyword.url
-Under the filter, right-click on the keyword. URL and choose "Reset".
-Restart Firefox (file > restart Firefox)
    See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Keyword.url

Step 3 You may need to reset your homepage. Firefox can open multiple home pages. Home pages are separated by the ' | ' symbol.

  • When you click the back button in Internet Explorer, I went back to the same page, I am already on. Problem seen in Google search engine.

Problem seen in Google search engine.

I used Google for years without problems - I work from home as a freelance journalist.  But this last few days, if I search for something on Google from IE and click on a result, I can get the page I want upward.  But then, if I want to go back to the same Google search page to check the other results, I can't go back by clicking on the button 'back' at the top left, as I always did.  If I click it, it just keeps returning me to the page I'm already.  I find no mention anywhere using this problem or any means to remedy.  If I have the cursor hover over the arrow bak, the address of the current page appears rather than the original Google search page, so there is obviously something wrong.
