  I never use Design view, and it is very annoying that Dreamweaver CS4 can't seem to understand and remember that. I can be editing a file in code view, and when I opened the file again the next day that it opens in Design view. Is there a setting for this somewhere or is this a bug?   When I start Dreamweaver, and I start typing the code I need to do for my site professionpower. In a few minutes, Dreamweaver becomes slow and begins to crash.   Your site is built on WordPress.  You must use the WP Dashboard to edit your site.

  If you just try to create content to paste into your WP site, switch to Design view.

• CC of Dreamweaver crashes when switching from mode code in design mode

  I am a recent problem with a file that I am currently working. When I switch from code in the Dreamweaver design view crashes and requires a stop down. Other files seem to work without problem. That particular file has 3 files EdgeAnimation CC cascading which are selected by questions from the media. I can test the page online, but not in design or mode live view.

  As your new page did not plant, which leads me to believe that you have critical errors or conflicts in your other pages.

  Can someone tell me why the PHP files are still open in design mode?

  I did everything I can think of to say Dreamweaver (CS4) to open in CODE view. However, every time I open a php file, that it opens in Design view.

  I get pretty tired of having to change it. What is the point to ask us how we want our files appear at the opening, while it is ignored anyway?

  I don't want to reopen the latest documents, I want that ALL THE documents, I opened to open in CODE discovered and nothing else.

  Edit > Preferences > File Types / editors

  Open in Code view: Add the types of files you want to open only in mode Code here as .php

  This option disables definitely Design & split for the designated file types, so you only ever, get the Code view.

  Use the commands > apply Source format.  This formats your code as you have defined it in the preferences > Code formatting.

  Hi, I have installed CS 5.5 Master Collection Trial on a freshly installed Windows 7 x 64. When you open a file in Dreamviewer it opens in design mode, which is ok and everything works fine but switching mode Code the Dreamweaver is unresponsive and Windows is trying to find a solution to the problem and the only thing I can do is to close the application. I tried to add the html extension so that when opening the file, the file will be opened in Code view immediately, but the help of this n.

  I tried to remove the Configuration in Windows for Dreamweaver directory, but that does not help either...

  Hi, well it took me a while, but I have maanged to find the solution... and, of course, the problem of this crash. After I installed a few new fonts (that I forgot to mention) switching code view crashes Dreamweaver. So, the solution is:

  (1) power up Dreamweaver and before opening any file/s go to Edition-> Preferences (or CTRL + U).

  2) go to "fonts."

  (3) change the font that is in "Code view" to "Courier new".

  (4) it's she!

  * You can also (and it is advisable) to change "fixed fonts" for "Courier new"!

  (5) restart Dreamweaver (not required) and you should be able to switch from Design view to the Code mode without any problem!

  I've been having a lot of trouble recently and think that it was caused by a virus.  However my Vaio only now starts in safe mode, and I have warnings that firewall is not on, and Microsoft Security databases are not executed.  However, I can't download MSE on the web, because I get an error message telling me that I can't download it because I am in safe mode.  Similarly, I get the same messge when trying to do other operations.  How can I get the computer opens in normal mode?

  I'm working on a project were I am importing to Dreamweaver html code. I just do all of my changes in Dreamweaver and then re-import the file.

  You can make changes in the file inside Muse. Just right click on your imported html file and select "edit HTML" in the menu list.

  I noticed that some of my pages will seem to move to the right it looks like about 3-5 spaces.  It is quite annoying and didn't know if it was just me.  It's like if someone 'tabs' pages and when I look at the code, it is almost identical with the other pages, but it moves.  Could it be Dreamweaver?  A problem with Safari?
