Why Firefox 10 installation don't revert not to 3.6?

I downloaded * and * version 10 about 5 times. I check in respect of aid, and it is indeed 10 version that is currently running. After a few days, I get a message that I need to restart Windows 7 to perform a previous update. When I do it, he complains that I'm not up-to-date, and when I look at, I'm indeed now under 3.6. Download/install again, and this is repeated. I tried a complete uninstall and reinstall, but the result is the same.

What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?

It is possible that you have security software that restores files on a reboot or on other occasions.

• Why force Adobe installs their new Flash drive when it is originally from the browsers play not video?

Why force Adobe installs their new Flash drive on billions of computers when it is causing so many browsers only play video?

I had installed the Flash Player 11.2.202.228 28/03/2012 and it worked very well, unlike some of the previous Flash players in several web browsers, so I chose NOT to install a new actors Flash that came after that, all based on experience.

But last Friday, 22/06/2012, I received a new message to install Adobe Flash Player that came in my office for the new Flash Player v 11.3.300.262 and I chose NOT to install it for the reason I said above... and the look now at all the problems this new Flash player has caused for so many people.

Now I see glancing at my Add-ons Manager in my Firefox browser, and in my program Panel of Windows 7 in the control panel that the stupid new Flash Player v 11.3.300.262 has been INSTALLED FORCE behind my back, even if I don't install certainly NOT it and I deleted the installation Panel when he came to my office on Friday.

And now no videos or content Flash will not play in my Firefox browser! Good job Adobe!

What is the Adobe problem?... why you require the software on our computers that obviously was not installed by the user, and then screw it to the top of our computers.

How to explain something like that?

Now, I have to troubleshoot it and try to install my old Flash Player.

Why?

Having click on classic view on the left side of the Control Panel window, which should show all of the icons and allow him to see the Flash Player icon. The alternative is to type 'flash player' in the control panel search box which should be also.

Note also that change the auto update to "notify me to install updates" will only delay the process of 30 days. After 30 days, the update will be installed automatically. You can completely disable this by changing it to "never check", but I would certainly recommend against that.

Hi RickAce

Could you please start a new thread for your question?

You can provide more information such as your operating system and installed extensions and plugins installed.

In case of accidents also please add a few recent crash ID that you can find on the subject: page hangs and which begin with a prefix 'bp '.

You can check for problems with the files that store the preferences.

• Why Firefox is not recognized as a modern browser?

Whenever I connect to most of the sites (gmail, youtube, google news, etc.), I get a message telling me that my browser is not supported and I need to upgrade to a modern browser. I am running Windows 7 and the browser is Firefox 8. I have reintalled FF8 after remove it entirely and it work first, however, when restarting it began to do the same thing, gmail for example, come in HTML and sites demanding the same level that I just made. I saw there was a problem with Adblock, so I removed that from my ad - ons, tried to find a way out with subject: config but saw no glaring problem. I also saw on the web that someone running IE8 has had a similar problem and told them to change some specific fields of EI in Regedit. I've done these, are not sure that they would be the same for FF8. Other browsers I use, Chrome, Safari, do not have this problem and I basically went to Chrome because this has been a problem since the day I installed FF8. What is the problem with the program, and why he switch back to inconsistent after a reboot?

You seem to have the general.useragent.override pref set to an empty string.

You can reset this default pref via the context menu to remove this override.

Why Firefox is not saving my log in info after that I used the option "Remember Me"?
Whenever I get on a frequently used site where I have already indicated on the Firefox browser to save my log in info, I still need to manually connect. The latest versions of Firefox are not like that. I am running Firefox on both my Imac (OS 10.5.8) and on my Mac Book Pro (Snow Leopard), and on each machine, the latest version of Firefox does the same thing. I don't have this problem with Safari, but I prefer to use Firefox then please let me know if there is anything I can do to solve this problem.

• Not so much a question as letting you know that when I downloaded mozilla firefox I'm done with download trogen. Would you go through your code to solve?

I downloaded mozilla firefox because I always said that it is safer to surf the net with her than IE and have used it for years. So I downloaded it on a computer in order to prevent virus popup problems I had. After Malware said they were all off the coast, I downloaded Mozilla... and again ran Malware only to find representatives of trogen trogen downloads and spyware infected files. I think that maybe someone messed with your codes. I have since sunk all of this, but thought you should be informed that there might be a hidden problem. Please check it out. Thank you

If you wish to make such a request, please give more details as what antivirus or scanners, you used, what they find so-called and where exactly.

Where did you downloaded Firefox from stood at www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org/firefox/all

If you have indeed downloaded Mozilla (and not a random download site) then it is pretty much guaranteed to false positives.

The installation program of small heel online for Firefox on Windows (served on mozilla.org) exists since Firefox 18.0 and still some antivirus clients gives still false positives about it although if customers have no problem with the complete configuration of www.mozilla.org/firefox/all

39.0 Firefox has been out since July 2 so much time to find all these issues in all versions of Firefox 39.0 for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux.

If it was true that Firefox 39.0 for Windows was a Trojan horse, then it would be a very hot topic here, the independent forums.mozillazine.org and tech autour sites even if Mozilla removed affected built quickly.

I have seen people claiming viruses, Trojans or malware in Firefox releases in 12 years. Not once was as true as it was false positives subsequently fixed by the update definitions antivirus or just something that was detected in the Cache that makes these things harmless while in the Cache.

The other times it was from users who have malicious software on their system, install Firefox, then did a scan and found should it is come with the installation of Firefox.

There was a case back in Firebird 0.6 days a local accumulation contributed has been apparently infected (Chinese?, I forgot) that Firefox 1.0 was the first version to have other official other than en-US language.

• Why firefox can not open with the default profile. It should be renamed?

trying to install "malwarebytes" for extra protection, the Norton toolbar on firefox has been reduced in size by losing my option "Vault". This prompted reinstalling on securities Notion which then prevented the opening of firefox. Internet Explore works well but I use firefox for years so why change. Firefox won't open (even after being uninstalled and downloaded and reinstalled. The message 'your firefox profile cannot be loaded, etc.' following the instructions of your forum, I locate a profile with the word 'profile' embedded file. The word "profile" in the flow path is preceded by a weird name (such as a foreign name). Path =
'C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\bzjajhor.default-1419035389504 '. This file needs to be renamed and can they?

Please help me to go back to firefox. Thank you

Do not rename a profile folder.
It seems that there is a problem with the profiles.ini.

See:

This is usually caused by a problem with the file profiles.ini and the profile marked as the default value = 1 in this file is no longer present on the hard drive.

• Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.
• Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/
• Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox /.

You can use one of them to make Firefox/reuse to create a new default profile:

• Remove the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
• Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
Use "Choose a folder" when you create a new profile to select the location of a lost profile and recover this profile

• Firefox is already running but is not responding? Simple answers don't seem to work

I started Firefox earlier today and received a message about a problem with Firefox and he had to be reset. Because the other option seemed worse than the reset, and Firefox Reseting seemed relatively painless, I clicked OK. A short message popped up on the registration of passwords, bookmarks, etc. with success. Then a small window pops up, saying it was cleaning of Firefox. While the process seemed to freeze. I liquidated it, killed at any process of firefox running and attempted to restart Firefox, when I received the message "Firefox is already running, but does not." There is a folder on my desktop labeled 'old Firefox data' which I assume is from Firefox reset (it is also now a copy of the profile on my desk, just in case).

https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/Firefox-already-running-not-responding

I found this and tried to work through it, but it doesn't seem to help.

(1) Ther' are no Firefox.exe in my task manager, nor is there a process plugin-container.

(2) I deleted the file "parent.lock" in both the profile (which is just a bunch of jumbled letters and numbers with 'default' in it) and the record of the old Firefox. However, these files were just "parent.lock" not "parent.lock.parentlock".

(3) did not change the name on it, so unless the reset did before she locked herself, I don't know what to change it to.

(4) it is not a file share, so...

(5) this could be a possibility. The folder of Firefox that my profile is 'Read only' is, but I can't not to change cela. Everytime I go in, turn off the 'Read only' option and tell him to propagate the change through subfolders, it seems to work, but when I check the properties 10 seconds later, 'Read Only' is checked again.

Sounds that the profiles.ini was corrupted when you remove the old default profile and adding the new profile.

You can have security software that preventing to change the Firefox file.

You use the Profile Manager to restore an existing profile or create a new profile.

A "Reset" creates a new default profile with a timestamp attached and is trying to import some settings of the old profile, leaving the old profile intact, including the (invalid) cache folder (topic: cache) can take up to 1 GB.

Versions of Firefox 15 + will move the old profile folder "old Firefox Data-#" folder on the desktop that gets a figure if you use reset several times, so you can no longer use the Profile Manager to return to the old profile.

Hi cleopt,

You can see this message under the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old default Firefox homepage. This page is no longer maintained by Google.

You should try to change your home page:

If you don't know how to change the home page, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base How to set the home pagearticle.

Hope this helps

• Why Firefox does not scroll the page when choosing & the cursor reaches the bottom of the screen

The selection of text on a page of the screen when the cursor reaches the lower edge of the screen in Firefox (version 9.0.1) does not scroll. Other programs (including IE) do, so it doesn't seem to be a local computer problem.
I don't see a setting in the page options that enables / disables this then what is the solution?

Activate the module bar (Firefox > Options or view > toolbars;) CTRL + /) or find bar to make Firefox scroll the page while selecting the text (Ctrl + F).
