Why I can't download service pack 3 for windos XP, I'm running under the account HP_Administrator supposingly?
I need to go to Service Pack 3 to run a new tax program, but windows update said I'm not Administrator ad. I should add that I get error # 0x8DDD0002
When you try to down load the service pack from 'Windows Update'.
I need to go to Service Pack 3 to run a new tax program, but windows update said I'm not Administrator ad.
Given that you do not specify this error message you receive, I guess you have found "Service Pack 3 Setup error. Access is denied. "since you mention that you run under the admin account.
Download and install Service Pack 3 from HEREmanually. Save the file to your desktop. Double-click on the file and choose run. Make sure you disable any malware software and anti-virus first.

How can I download service pack 1A
original title: How can I download service pack 1a for my computer to install on the laptop got for her grandchildren
bought 2 varbook computers cell phones of our elementary for her grandchildren when they are home, I installed XP but I am unable to download SP - 1, the server keeps timing out.how can I download it to my computer it can install on the varbooks?
Jump SP1a and go directly to the SP2:
http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=28
The link for SP1a is for quick installation, which requires an internet connection on the computer that you are using it (it looks like DirectX Web install). You can go directly to SP2 without first having the SP1 (or 1A). Copy the file to a CD or a flash drive, and then copy it from there to your target PC and run it. Then, you can download and install SP3:

Why can't I download service pack 1 for windows xp
When I try to install service pack 1a for windows xp, I'm meeting the message that I am unable to connect to the server. Do I have reason to assume that the problem is on your side? Anyway what can I do to fix the problem? I jumped on it and installed 2 and 03:00 I'm going to have problems because of this?
SP1a is useless until you install SP2 and SP3. Do not forget to include also updates well-too-100 post SP3 security, too!

How can I install service pack 2 for Vista, while on battery.
My computer is running on battery power, even if it is plugged. My battery is not, but it's OK since I use as a desktop replacement system, and it works fine. Unfortunately, the update of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 will not install. How to ignore the condition to be plugged, or tell my stupid computer it is plugged and won't run out of juice during installation?
[It seems to me that you will have to replace the battery before installing SP2. YMMV]
Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for Windows Vista, but only for Service Pack 2 (SP2). This support, initially planned to end on November 26, 2009, has been extended until February 26, 2010. Availability of support chat or messaging differs depending on your location. Some questions may require that more support for which he is advanced a charge. Recently, my computer crashed and had to be reloaded with XP. Kinda weird Explorer that all text is very very low. I tried to adjust the resolution and have implemented the automatic updates. I thought that installing service pack 3 could help, but I can't download. I get the Win 32 application error. Can anyone help?
You download the SP3 on the website?
try to get SP3 installed using Windows Update utility (start > all programs > Windows Update) and see if it will install that way.
Hope this helps

I can't download service pack 3 (SP3), error 0 x 80070424
I have Windows XP Home Edition (32 bit), I need to service pack 3, so I tried to use the Windows Update tool, but when I search the new updates, I get this error: [error number: 0 x 80070424] Please help me I need SP3 so I can download visual c++ 2010 express.
(Also for some strange reason I can not turn on automatic updates on my computer)
Hello
Service pack 3 is here...
http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=24
Don't worry about the text which says that these are network installs, or the text which says do not use if you are only up-to-date a PC, it works very well for any installation of XP.
Install SP3 by running the download.
I suggest you post another question about windows updates if it still does not work after graduating installed SP3.
