  I got an eMachine who was 'slow' that my client wanted cleaned and accelerated. It is Vista Home Basic (without Service Pack yet) and has two users, an administrator and a Standard. Antivirus is Norton. The reason why it has been slow is that she only had installed 512 MB of Ram and a part of which was used by the video.   Seems you might want to try resetting Internet Explorer from the Internet Options / Tools / Advanced tab... on the Advanced tab is a button Reset IE.    So if you want to save these press the ALT key, then the file menu appears in the upper left corner, it will remove things like favorites... Click on export and read a little.

  I solved the problem!  I uninstalled two programs (the current ver.11 and one old worm 5, which I think caused problems), went to the registry and deleted all records pertaining to the programs adobe and adobe has decided to re - install the latest version (ver.11) for a clean install.  It seams to go around.  Thank you for your concern.  Either by the way, it's Internet Explorer, Windows XP and versions of Adobe were 11 and 5.
