Why is-C; Complete player?

I have an a 300G hard drive; 10G attributed to recovery and 290G D: on the C drive.  The C drive shows that about 90% of the full no reason apparent.  When I analyse all files in C: drive less than half of the total area is explained (view hidden folders is checked).  Here are the steps I've taken so far to address:

  1. Disk ran Windows 7 clean
  2. Defrag ran Windows 7
  3. Scan ran Malwarebytes
  4. Ran CCleaner
  5. checked for the older version of Windows to remove (does not exist)

I read in other post that backups and restore points can consume a lot of space.  Could it be consume 150G?  If this is the case, how to clean and don't would not this also showed in my analysis of the C: drive?

Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

There has been several reports here to change the amount of space it uses as much as 50% of the capacity of the hard disk without reason apparent the system restore.

Here's how check and change if that's the problem:

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/5482/make-system-restore-use-less-space-in-Windows-7/

Now you should be in the configuration screen for the drive you selected above, where you can turn off protection system entirely, delete everything, but the latest restore points, changing only restore files (and), or drag the slider to use more or less space.

See you soon.

  • Why not Windows Media Player 11 does not recognize w4a files in the library list more.

I have Windows XP Pro (SP3) with Windows Media Player 11. I had a virus wipe my hard drive (everything has been updated) and after reinstalling and updating everything, it no longer recognizes the w4a files, but it automatically plays them the OMP 11 if I click on the file in Windows Explorer.

Before the accident, all the files on my computer w4a was included in the library. Now the entire albums, as well as individual songs are missing. In fact, now NO w4a file is listed. So my question is, why does Windows Media Player 11 recognize the w4a files?

    Hello

Method 1: I suggest you try the steps from the link below and check if it helps.

    a. close Windows Media Player.
    b. find the file of database on the computer that contains the entries of your library. In general, the library database file (CurrentDatabase_219.wmdb) is located in the following directory:
    (Drive :) Users/xxx(the user name)/Appdata/local/Microsoft/Media Player
    c. right click on the file and then click Rename.
    d. rename the file by changing its file .bak extension.
    e. start the player. When you do so, a new database of library file is created.
    f. press F3 on your keyboard to open the add to Library dialog box search for computers.
    g. click the Browse button to search for a folder on your computer that contains digital media files. Specify the location of the folder in the box look in.
    h. click on the search button.
The player will search for digital media files and playlists in the folder you specify and add to your library. If you have your files and playlists stored in different folders on your computer, you may need to search for files several times, by specifying a different folder every time.

    Method 2:
You may need to rebuild the database of Windows Media Player.
    Here's how:
To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:
    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.
    c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.
Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
    d. restart Windows Media Player.
Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Windows Vista player - D labelled "Recovery" what is its purpose? Why is it complete?

This computer is 3 years old. Until recently, the D drive was essentially empty. Now, it's almost filled to capacity.

    Hello

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. to reinstall Vista from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

There are backups on an external hard drive.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

    See you soon.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. click on start, run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK.

  • Why did Adobe Flash Player 10 Activex appear twice in Add/Remove programs?

I tried this request in an Adobe forum but got no answer. I use Windows XP SP3. When I go into Control Panel Add / Remove Programs, I see that Adobe Flash Player 10 Activex appears twice. Same name and both show the last time that I acceded to them was 14/08/2010. The second one is slightly different because it shoes 2.42 MB in size. Why the duplication? Can I delete one? Besides, if it has not been used since August of last year, do I need at all?

Information on "Last use" and "size" in Add/Remove programs are notoriously inaccurate.

Each of the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller from Add/Remove Programs entries.

Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash

The current Flash ActiveX control is Flash10s.ocx.  There are several other auxiliary files as well.  If there are any files with the previous letters after 10 (e.g., Flash10p.ocx), delete them.

Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ to download the current version.

  • HP TOOLS (f) complete player

On my computer it tells me that the HP tools drive is full. Is there nothing in it, not even this would came previously downloaded on the laptop. Also, my computer takes a long time to start and he tells me that the battery is low, every time I have to unplug the unit. Even though it was plugged in overnight to recharge. I did a disk clean up, but it made no difference. Help, please!

The drive is supposed to be complete, it contains hidden data used to start your system, if ever you use factory recovery capabilities.  You shouldn't try to clean, to use or even directly access this drive.  It's only for the only emergency recovery.

If your computer takes a long time to start, you can use these steps to find out why and speed it up.

If your battery is said it is low, the battery may need replaced. After a time, they lose their ability to hold a charge.

  • Why settings of flash player from adobe ("always ask" is my default setting) does not respond when 'decline' is still selected when 'allow' selected

This issue has always been on any computer I have used or owned. A small pop-up window opens asking if the information can be stored on my computer and is not removable until "allow" is selected. Why is the option "Deny" shown if it can ever be used? In addition, this pop-up window moves the cursor flashes at a rate of 4 - 5 times faster when a video shows. Any information would be appreciated as it has intrigued me for a long time. Thank you.
