Windows Vista player - D labelled "Recovery" what is its purpose? Why is it complete?

This computer is 3 years old. Until recently, the D drive was essentially empty. Now, it's almost filled to capacity.

Hello

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

1. to reinstall Vista from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

There are backups on an external hard drive.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

See you soon.

    Check if you have errors associated with updates?

    1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
    2. In the left pane, click view update history.
    3. Find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information. Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update.
    4. In the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.
    5. Follow the links in the dialog Windows Update under more information or help and Support to try to solve the problem, then try to reinstall the update by using Windows Update in Control Panel or to display error codes/messages and maybe someone may be able to help others.

  • Satellite P100: No CD Windows Vista but only the recovery CD

    Hi, I recently bought a toshiba satellite P100, but it does not seem to have fitted with a disc of Windows Vista, only the preinstalled Vista.

    The laptop works fine for now, but I'm a little worried that if something is wrong in the future, I will have no way to reinstall the OS.

    The laptop came with a recovery disk, and I don't know if Vista is included on this?

    If it isn't in any way I can make a copy of vista installed on my HARD drive?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Don t worry, you don t need to make a copy of your HARD disk, since you already have a vista on your recovery media.

    If you have problems with your system and you want to re - install, then backup all your data on an external, put the recovery in your CD/DVD drive, boot from it and then just 'recover' or 'reinstall' your system. The recovery process works automatically and you will have an installation "factory-like" after recovering from your machine.

    Hope, I could explain it... ;)

When I activate my window, he asked for the product key which has been mentioned on the sticker under the battery of the laptop.at, first that I have not found the sticker so I don't have to enter the key bt after that I restarted my computer, he asked me to activate windows, few options were available.i opted to activate windows online.again it asks to enter product key.i entered , but it gives me the error message incorrect windows vista key.i restored my computer several times older points but in vain.i also adopted the method run services.msc and then this selection of software licenses and properties by clicking the start of stop.the type has already been set on automatic and I have so I still clicked on start.and when I rebooted my computer He asked again for the key.

  • My Windows Vista is crushed - no recovery disc-screen is black, can not activate, can't not to start, f8, f9, f10 does nothing

    Installed at the factory Basic to the Windows Vista Home page

    Looks like you may have hardware problems.

    If you get no splash Screen at startup;

    If under warranty, contact the manufacturer of the computer.

    If it is not under warranty, contact a local reputable repairman computer.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    This is the normal recovery Options;
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

    See you soon.

    I have a HP Pavilion with Windows Vista a6214x.  About 3 years ago, I created my recovery with 2 discs dvd - r system

    I never had problems by creating discs and my HP troubleshooting and maintenance guide says that I could use either

    the dvd - r or dvd + r. But the other day, technical support of HP said use the dvd + r to create system recovery discs. If this is the case, I have to start all over again and create Sytem recovery discs on dvd + r?

  • Clean reinstallation of Windows Vista on a Latitude E6500 - what drivers?

    I am trying to wipe my Latitude E6500 & reinstall Windows Vista Home Edition. Have managed to install Vista, I am stuck at the part of the driver installation. Everything I read says I need to install the drivers for the chipset first. When I plug my Service tag on the page number drivers & downloads on the Dell Support website, there are 2 recommended drivers for the chipset - Intel AMT HECI, v.4.2.30.1040 PV, A03 & Intel AMT GROUND / A03 LMS, PV v.4.2.30.1040,. How can one to use?

    Hi dhjaffe,

    You can install both/all drivers from the chipset available for your service tag. There is no harm in it. Also here is the order in which the pilots should ideally be installed.

    Driver or application name Category What it does
    1 Dell System Software System utilities Provides critical updates and patches for the operating system.
    2 chipset driver Chipset Help Windows components control the map system and controllers, such as the USB ports and other internal components.
    3 PCMCIA and smart card drivers Security Measure of capacity of slot PCMCIA and smart card.
    4. Intel Matrix Storage Manager Serial ATA The Intel storage driver is only applicable to the Intel chipset computers.
    5. audio driver Audio Activates and enhances the audio controller.
    6 video driver Video Improves video performance.
    7. ethernet drivers or network interface card Network Improving internet access network or network controller.
    8. ControlPoint System Manager, Manager of ControlPoint and ControlPoint Connection Manager security

     Note: This driver is required for some Latitude laptops, and depending on your system configuration, you do not have to install all three parts.

    Control point The Dell ControlPoint (DCP) controls the management of food for some Dell Latitude laptops. ControlPoint System Manager monitors the management of food and ambient light sensor settings, controls ControlPoint security features Security Manager and ControlPoint Connection Manager control wireless connection profiles.
    9 Dell Quickset Application Controls power management and ambient light sensors.
    10. wireless network drivers Network Activates and enhances the wireless network controller.

Continue to the next on the list driver.Network Controls and allows Bluetooth connectivity. 12 mouse, keyboard, touchpad and drivers for input devices Mouse, keyboard & input devices Enhances the pointing device features. 13 Intel AMT or vPro (if available) Chipset Improves the manageability of the system. 14 drivers wireless card Dell mobile broadband (if available) Network Allows wireless connectivity to broadband. 15 drivers modem (if available) Modem/Communications Allows dial-up capabilities. 16 Dell Digitech touchscreen driver (if available) Mouse, keyboard & input devices Allows you to enter key screen on some Dell laptops.

  • The library used by Windows Media Player is corrupt. What can I do?

    We have removed the virus that caused it (the library is still corrupted), but now we can't find one of our photos, videos or documents.  We saw all our photos and videos for a few minutes when we opened the Windows Media Player for the first time, but as soon as the update is complete, all disappeared.  When we click on 'Properties' on a couple of records that appear still under 'Photos', the file size and the number of files, the two seem to be OK; However, when we open the file, it is empty.
