We tried to uninstall Firefox and reinstalling and that did not help. We also tried to uninstall Adobe Flash and reinstall a new version of it as well. None of them is the problem. Firefox reset as well didn't help either. Being that this happens only on one computer I think it's a very strange situation. Y at - there anyone out there who has an idea of what is happening and how to fix or is really something that can't be fixed? There is no virus on the system. Yes, I tried the update through the update button as well as trying to go directly to the site Adobe itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Well, I just thought about it all now, but I still want to thank you for your help. You'll love the answer too. I was literally looking at the plugin page and I saw 17.0.9.18 and I arrived just to scroll to the bottom of the page where he showed another application like 17.0.9.18. Guess what he listed as. Real Player. I uninstalled Real Player cloud of programs and it solved the problem. The problem is that stupid little icon appears as Adobe Flash up and in fact what we really know that for 17.0.9.18 is true cloud player.   Google was planning to depreciate the NPAPI plugin for quite some time. According to this post chrome Blog: The Final Countdown for NPAPI NPAPI plugins will be disabled by default in April 2015.  This post contains instructions on disabling default plugin for substitution.  If you have the latest version of Chrome (42) it's probably why you don't see it there.   I've done a clean install twice before posting this discussion. And went through the entire process using your links. And then returned to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html and the box is still a Virgin despite flash player now in my system preferences once more.
