Why is the latest Version of Java blocked as being obsolete?

Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 with all the patches.

Update Java at the current level and the opening of the web page to check it I got a message at the bottom of the web page saying that Java has been blocked because it was out of date.  Click the button to update and it takes me to the same page (https://java.com/en/download/windows_offline.jsp) I have download the installation package-Version 8 update 25.

If I say that it runs, in any case, the web page check that I have the latest version of Java installed.

What is going on?

Not sure, but check in Control Panel - programs and features, or use this tool - https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp to make sure that only the latest version of Java is installed.

Hi, I'm new to the java world and want to take this language, y at - there a lot of difference in versions of Java

Then I suggest you START with the Java tutorials

    https://docs.Oracle.com/javase/tutorial/

The Java tutorials are practical guides for programmers who want to use the Java programming language to create applications. They include hundreds of full, examples and dozens of classes of work. Groups of lessons are organized into "tracks".

The Java Tutorials primarily describe features in Java SE 8. For best results, download JDK 8.

If you are a beginner, then you have NO REASON to use an older version of the current.

  • The latest version of Java is always a security risk?

According to the link in the plugin manager defined as insecurity, it points to a bug reported nearly 4 years report and the status says it has been resolved. So if it's that old and marked as solved why he always class plugin not secure? I understand this plugin has been the Bugbear of browser security but honestly if you can't properly class it how can we trust the Mozilla team to post accurate and up-to-date information?

The Java platform Plugin is ok, as long as it is the most recent, but the Java Deployment Toolkit Plugin continues to be vulnerable. Few end users never need the deployment tool, it is mainly used by Java developers and some institutional users.

In the years before Oracle acquired Sun Microsystems (2010) Deployment Toolkit came not with the end-user Java package, he was part of a separate Java Developers Kit.

  • What is the latest version of Java that OATMEAL is compatible with?

    Hello

We currently have JAVA Version 6 update 33 (build 1.6.0_33 - b03) installed, when executing 12.1.0.1.361 OATS.

Update JAVA to a subsequent update causes OATS to fail when it goes from Web to forms.

Is there a solution to this, for example OATS 12.2 takes care of this problem?

    Rgds,

    B

    Hi B,

You don't have to install or update java for OATS. OAT itself comes with packets of jre. In order to not install updates.

If you are installing updates, you will face problems with the launch of forms.

    Kind regards

Java does not have to be installed in Oracle_Home, it can be installed anywhere on your system. You probably already have a Java 6 is installed somewhere. But if not, just install it (via the package manager or installed manually from a tarball, etc.). Just set JAVA_HOME to the 'bin' directory and then add $JAVA_HOME/bin to your PATH (this should be fairly simple).

  • After installing Firefox 6 it disables java 6.0.26 and says 'not compatible '. ». The latest version of java ov is 1.6.0.26 which is what most users use. What is the solution?

This morning I installed Firefox 6 and he says that is not compatible with the Java Console 6.0.26 and deactivated. I use Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. Is this normal?

The add-on "Java Console" is necessary only if you are a programmer writes Java code that runs in Firefox. Otherwise, this add-on is not useful. Turn it off will not affect web pages that use Java.

After updating Firefox yesterday, I made a mistake with a code css and immediately picked up Firefox (very useful). After correcting the error, Firefox continues to show the error unless I have validate page and then reopen Firefox. Hi Jgrossman, checker plugin site does not currently distinguish between the latest version available (Java 8, for developers) and the oracle recommended for your computer (Java 7, for everyone). This is a limitation of this site. A new site is underway due to the changes in Firefox 29, and that works is having the priority at the moment, so problems with the current site will have to wait or will become irrelevant after the new site launches.

  • Plugin Flash will not install even after installing the latest version of Flash

When I go to a site that contains Flash content, it says "a plugin is required to view this content" and there is a link to install the plugin. In addition, there is a message at the top of the page that says "additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" with an option to "Install missing Plugins". I click on the link to install the missing plugin, and a dialog box appears that says "the following plugins are available: ' and 'Adobe Flash Player 11.0.1.152' lists with a checkbox next to it. The box is checked, and I click on 'Next' to install. He's going through the motions and then told me that 'no plugins were installed. There is a link to manually install the plugin, which brings me to the Adobe's Flash download page. I unchecked the box for pair McAfee Security download and downloaded the latest version of Flash (to be honest, I downloaded actually this exact version even about 10 times today). The dialog box appears, I save the file and once it has downloaded, open the folder that contains (my downloads folder). I then, close all programs (including Firefox) except for the folder of Windows Explorer I want to run the installer from. I double-click the Flash Installer to perform the installation. The installation process is complete, the installer tells me that the download is successful, and my browser opens upward with a message "Successful Installation" from the Adobe Web site. Yay! My installation is successful... Orrrrrr not. Return to the page with the Flash media - always have a message saying that I need the plugin. Try to download plugin once again... no dice.

THEN, I go to "Manage my Add-ons" thinking maybe I need to activate the plugin. There is no plugin Flash (or Shockwave) listed on any of the menus - it is as if it does not exist.

I downloaded the latest version of Java because I read somewhere that Flash requires Java work; I installed the "add-on Compatibility Reporter" so I could force Java to be enabled. It made no difference whatsoever, best I can tell.

I also went to the Adobe homepage where you can see what version of Flash you use (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) and it does not even show that I have installed Flash. In Internet Explorer, it shows that I have installed Flash, but it's the previous version (but this is probably due to the fact that I downloaded Flash in Mozilla, not IE, and they use different modes in each browser - so an update that you download from a browser does not necessarily apply to the other browser).

So in summary: I don't know what on Earth is wrong here, but I'm about as frustrated that I've never been in my life. I don't know why the installation of Adobe Flash is said she is successful (it sleeps for me?), but there is no plugin appear in my menu manage add-ons, and I googled all the possible combinations of content in this message and have not found a solution that works yet.

It seems that you have found the 64-bit version of Flash. Is your Windows 7 64-bit?

I did read your entire post, but NPSWF64_11_1_102.dll which is Flash 64-bit; This turns into a novel when it should have been a short story.

First, uninstall all Flash your system by following these instructions from Adobe

Second, get the 32-bit versions of the following. Why? Unless you use an unofficial Firefox 64-bit version, the regular Firefox is a 32-bit browser and needs 32-bit Flash.

Third, test Flash on websites where you had a problem before.

If this does not work, my last suggestion for you is to follow the instructions from Adobe for troubleshooting. I don't know what's happening with your system, which could possibly be the cause of the problem.

If this answer solved your problem, please click 'Solved It' next to this response when connected to the forum.
