The Trend Micro Client caused a bit of stir in my computer.

He gave me the UiSeAgnt.exe error and I couldn't open any .exe files. I uninstalled Trend Micro and that pop up more rises. But the "System could not find the environment option/variable is entered" is yet to come when I try to run the .exe. This means that same cmd cannot be opened. I can not connect to the Internet independently wireless or wired. Audio system is not even the sense system speakers or external audio devices.

I tried the system restore, did not work. I tried SFC/scannow, did not work. Now my current idea is to back up my files and blow the computer on with a clean restore. What should I do? I use a Vaio E series 14 p, btw.

If it really comes down to it, how much memory should I backup everything?

    Hi Vey,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft community.

Your system is connected to a domain network?

This problem occurs in situations where Shutdown.exe cannot access the UserDomain environment variable. The task of the judgment which is on demand by using the at command runs under the system account. When the task is run under the System account, the UserDomain environment variable are not accessible because it does not exist. But the problem occurs mainly on the areas of server.

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if these help to resolve the issue.

    1. start your system in safe mode.

    2. press on the Windows key + R.

    3. type sysdm.cpl , and then click OK.

    4. click on the "Advanced" tab

    5. in "Startup and recovery", click "Environment Variables".

    6. under "System Variables", click 'new '.

    7. for "Variable name", type in windir%

    8. for 'Value of the Variable', type in C:\Windows

    9. click OK on the all the dialog boxes that pop up.

    10. restart your system in normal mode.

If, however, your system is connected to the normal mode, please see the following support article.

  • The system could not find the environment option that was entered.

I have Vista Home Premium. I must have met a significant corruption or a virus. Here's what the system won't let me do.

    System restore
    Launch any program exe
    run cmd as administrator
    launch msconfig
Basically, everything I download don't throw (including several ladies virus recommended this forum and others)
If it's a virus, he got by AVG free edition
Safe mode does not enable all the options I get always "the system could not find the environment option that was entered."
It of almost as if someone really took time to reflect on how to thwart an attack and then implemented in the opposite direction.

Is blowing the entire disk and back at my only option?

    Zitouni,

Thanks for your reply, good point on the File Checker, I didn't know that. Unforuneatly I have not see your reply until I decided it was time to re - install the system. One thing to note, I couldn't do a 'run as administrator' anyway possible. This system was really corrupt which leads me to believe that he may have been a NTFS/Fat 32 Co-mingling question. Just a guess, but I really don't see how it could have happened otherwise.

Another thing to note, if you have a Dell Inspiron 1720 with a 250Gig HD-make sure that you format the partition, you then load the SATA drivers! Also, make sure that the restore partition does not primary. Make sure that you format (assuming that you have backed up your data before!). Otherwise, it hangs on Setup to complete the installation. Who took me ahwhile to understand.

Everything is cool now (reinstalled Vista), just thank ful there is a site like this to run things by! ;)

  • Error message "the system cannot find the environment option that was entered.

I'm having a problem to launch programs on my system. I have Windows vista. Whenever I try to run any program on my computer, I get an error message that says: "the system could not find the environment option that was entered." He won't let me do things like: update of the parental control settings, System Restore, uninstall programs, install downloads, run antivirus software, ect. I tried to use the advice given in this forum without success. The system won't let me use the run as Administrator option and no longer recognizes my account administrator. I've lost my Vista boot drive, so I can't use it to repair the computer. I am at the end of the roll and can't not think of anything else to do, but my computer reset it back to default settings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a recovery disk (unless you have an already or that you have an Installation of Windows Vista genuine disc) using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning like software: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and of course a blank CD.  This recovery disk will allow you to do the Startup Repair and system restore. You may need to change the BIOS to do the CD drive first in the boot sequence.  It was boot the PC and wait for the screen where it shows the F key to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the change, save your work and exit.  Insert the CD into the drive and restart.  When you are prompted, press a key to start the PC.

Try a system restore to a point BEFORE this problem started to occur.  Here's how: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If this does not work, try an earlier point or two.

If this does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the Installation of Windows Vista genuine disc or your recovery disk. Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.

If you don't have a floppy, you can make a recovery disk to http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ using a burning like software: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and of course a blank CD.  This recovery file is just as good as one that comes with Vista, but it can't do a reinstall.  You can do a system restore or startup repair or even use the command prompt.  Boot from the CD may be your only option, because you are not an administrator and therefore cannot do these functions in normal mode.

Let's see if it works before moving on to other troubleshooting options.

Good luck and I hope this works!

  • The system could not find the environment that has been entered - option Windows 7

I don't know what I was doing at the computer before this problem started. However, I first noticed that something was wrong when I tried to open the photo viewer and was faced with the problem of the impossibility to find the module specified for this program. In an attempt to solve this problem, I tried to download and install the Photo Gallery in Windows Live and this is when I first discovered that my system has this problem.

I went online to search for solutions to these problems, but none of the solutions worked. Here are the steps that I tried in vain that the system could not find the environment option that was entered.

I tried open CMD with administrator privileges but am unable to do so. Once more, the next step on the start-up of the Installation DVD of Win 7 to use the Startup Repair tool doesn't have that the system was unable to find the environment option that was entered. I proceeded to try to use the system restore, but is facing the same problem too.

You can probably fix your problem by using the system restore. Here's how it works:
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. select Repair from the menu.
    3. Enter the administrator password when you are prompted. It is often empty.
    4. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    5. set Windows to a point before this problem occurred.

  • Windows Virtual PC integrated with components lock me out of my WinXP - error of OEM comments - "the system could not log. Make sure that your user name and domain are correct... »

With my new desktop Windows 7 hardware configuration, I decided (before you consider VMware Player) to retry Windows Virtual PC; but instead of using Windows XP Mode (which is useless because the disk is inaccessible), I decided to use my own Windows XP Pro OEM. [I use it for games that won't play on Win7.  Security issues are also irrelevant, because for these games, I'm not likely to use the Web.  Of course, I always Windows Security Essentials in my OEM customers.]

The problem here is, whenever I have to Activate my integration, features VPC opens as if the Windows XP Mode have been installed (it is not); and when the screen is turned on, it asks my user name and password.  I tried to use the name and the password that I entered when installing my XP OEM; but I get this message:

"The system could not log.  Make sure that your user name and domain are correct.  Type your password again.  Letters in passwords must be entered using the proper case. »

How is it that I can't access my Windows XP OEM guest when the integration features are enabled?  Only when they are disabled can I activate my OS; invited but it's counterproductive, because I won't be able to move items from my host in my comments.  Once more, if I should decide to use VPC as my host VM for Linux Ubuntu/Kubuntu, what chance is there that the activation of the integration features will lock out me my Linux guest?

Another thing: in the Start Menu under Windows Virtual PC folder I have shortcuts for ' Windows Virtual PC ' or 'Virtual Machines' (according to the Win7 version I use, 32-bit or 64-bit); but I also have "Windows XP Mode", I have not installed.  How is that possible?  I checked the shortcut, and point it to rundll32.exe.  Should I just get rid of the shortcut, or I will incur damage to my VPC if I do?

Canadian technology has given me the help I needed to get Windows Update, run again, but remains a problem. Even after the download and installation of updates today, Windows Update always starts with "Windows 10 could not be installed" with the error 80004004-40019. Is it going to annoy my client forever or there at - there a way to reset Windows Update in order to start to show the previous screen of the remaining updates?

And to make the situation quite clear, the client never asked for Windows 10. His anti-virus caused all coming to a sudden stop (long story), which was actually a good thing because Windows 10 could not settle via deceptive tactics of Microsoft. I manually uninstalled all updates of Windows 10.

    Suggest:

    1. Install the GWX Control Panel and use it to stop the thing Win10
    2. Set Windows Update to NEVER, and then you take responsibility and control to manage the process.
