Why my model isn't updating pages?

Hello - I'm a beginner and I'm going quietly crazy trying to understand why my model changes are not displayed in my pages.

I can create a new page for example clue of my model dwt no problem, but if I try to change the image of the banner or the title nothing pops up after I update the pages using this template. I made a model with many editable regions because I thought changing the banner image id according to the theme of the page... could this be a problem of regions modifable?

The html pages and the model are in the same site... What on earth I forget to do when I refresh the model and make changes?

Thanks in advance for maybe really stupid question (teaching myself dreamweaver in English with french, not easy software!)

"model"?  You mean "model"?

Here are seven common mistakes which will result in changes of proliferation do not model for child-

1 rename the Templates folder

2 move the folder models to another level of folder in the site other than the root level

3. move a template outside of the Templates folder.

4 changes to an editable model (which is not set)

5. on the assumption that the changes made to the model will be will be by simply downloading the file Template modified on the server without downloading also files the modified

6 corrupt the site cache to make the link between the model and the child page is broken

7. bad create your child pages simply open the template, adding specific content on the page and re-register the model with an extension rather than expanding *.dwt *.html. (you can tell if this is the case by looking at the code on a page of the child - if you see something like

    Help us! Our model we have created with several editable regions will not update other pages when we make a change to the model. We bought books, called Macromedia, called local experts and we're back to the drawing board. Why will update our model? It has several tables in it, and we can apply our model of new pages we create them, but if we make a change in an editable region on the model and update the pages, pages never receive changes. If you have any ideas, please let us know. We have more than 100 pages to our intranet site and we cannot begin to replace each page individually. We must do this work. Help please!

    But it is always the case. Changes to the editable regions in the model

    Really? This is the way it has always been and always will be.

  • Dreamweaver CS6: Model do not update pages

    I developed a small promotional site using Dreamweaver CS6. Practically all the pages have been designed around a single model, and it has worked well throughout the development.

    However, I now notice that updates applied to the model (updates in a non-editable region) are passed to only some of the pages.

    Here is a page not updated by model: http://www.purepowerengine.com/about.htm

    Thank you in advance.

    Never mind... it seems to have been a mistake in a small script referenced within the model.

    Thanks anyway.

  • Why aren't the models automatically update pages?

    I added a page and changed the link to the page in the menu bar, I saved all and then the dialog box came not upward to update all pages. Then we went to change models, the updated pages, and still nothing happened. No answer box has popped up. What can I do so it will work on Dreamweaver CS6? Is there something to do with the settings? In addition, the original model was created using the CS5.5 version, which is a factor?

    www.iewaterkeeper.org

    The menu is an editable?  If so, then that's exactly what should have happened.  The only changes that propagate model to the child are changes made to the non-editable regions.  We can say with certainty what happens if post you a link to one of your pages child so that we can look at the code.

    In addition, the original model was created using the CS5.5 version, which is a factor?

    No, certainly not.

  • Model no updated pages on save

    I'm having a problem with DW CC when I make changes to a template and save it but it isn't updated all pages. What is even more strange, is that if I open the pages and I save the template it will update the pages, but not all those closed. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

    I am happy to report that this bug no longer seems to be a problem in DreamWeaver CC 2014

  • Why my model created the out of sync page break?

    Hello

    I am relatively new to this, after reading in the classroom in a book on Dreamweaver CS6, I thought I would try my own Web site.

    I ' relatively simple and there are only 4 pages derived a model.

    3 pages look good and jump from one to the other while is precisely recorded.

    1 page however refuses to play ball and is horizontally out of register with the other 3 pages - it moves about 3 mm to the left

    I isolated it as being down to the text in the main editable region. If I remove a paragraph (any one), she returned to be in the registry with the other pages.

    When you create the template itself I gave lesser amounts of text in situ in the editable area so that I could just cut and paste it, I also did it for the title which seems to work well.

    Below is the code from a code of the home page which is fine and the problem on the graphic Communication page

    Also attached link to site that is hosted outside (set up by someone who knows what they are doing)

    Any help would be welcome

    Normally, you would have an external stylesheet for your site. Each page is linked to this style sheet.

    In your case, you put style rules in the document, which is Ok except when it comes to maintenance.

    To answer your question, place the code just above the rules of body style as in

    html {
      overflow-y:scroll;
    }

    body {
      background-color: #000;
      text-align: center;
      margin: 0px;
      padding: 0px;
      color: #EEE;
    }

    If you have no plans to use the external style sheet, the rule for the html will not negatively affect other pages.

  • Updated the models encourage not updated on sync

    After talking with an assortment of people Adobe, I was advised to take my question on the forums to see if someone else might have a workflow that will accomplish what I am trying to acquire: a model master centralized control, out of which subsites can base their models. (I apologize ahead if my entry takes an arrogant tone.) For brevity, I'm being pretty straightforward - I'm not really a Dreamweaver-enemy.)

    Here's the full version:
    We are a large company, and the public Web site is all custom code. However, we have many departments, and many of them have their own public information sites. We use Dreamweaver on a departmental level for the public web site of each service, managed by a person designated by him in this Department. The idea is to have a "company" basic model that establishes the catch-all provision that each of my Department webmasters can use as the basis to create a template for the site of their Ministry. Theoretically, they don't would be concerned with the details for their Department and would inherit a widespread company container from the main template. (Currently, it's the Wild West, and each Department is responsible for their own model - you can imagine the wild variations in appearance through our presence on the web.)

    When I initially created each service to have a web site, I manually create their models / directory on the server and put the main template in this directory (in fact, each Department has just a symbolic link to master, but I digress). The permissions are such that they cannot edit this file on the server. (They obviously can change it locally, but it can never be replaced on the server - if I could lock it so that they could not accidentally change it locally, I would do it; but I don't know how to do such a thing without having a flag 'read-only' on the model or something Dreamweaver.) Yet once again, I digress.)

    In any case, what I want to do is the following: in the event that the main template on the server changes (which would result in the file of Templates/Master_Template.dwt for each service I placed there immediately appearing to have been changed), I might have users synchronize their site (that overused realization of Dreamweaver that changed the model), pull down the model and be invited to update their template Department (because it is based on the model of 'master' now-changed), which would be cascaded to update pages based on the model of their Department. Theoretically, this should work, because if you actually open the local copy of the Master_Template.dwt, change and save it, the update process works exactly as it should.
    In the real world, however, the "...". and update their Department model... "part is where the process stops, because when a template file is updated via synchronization rather than change manually, either this opportunity to update all dependent resources (potentially outdated) is presented.

    It was suggested to use Contribute for the Department, but Contribute sites with no knowledge of the elements of library or the modification of the model, it should be I have centrally manage * all * models instead of just the main template - and that's exactly what I'm trying to escape to do by delegating peacekeeping each ministerial department site.

    The only work around I can think of is this: in the case of an update of the master model, have each user synchronize their site, pull down the new master, open it, make a few simple changes (a space or similar), delete it (so the model can be saved) and then save the now-modified-but-not-actually-changed local main template file, which would engage the update that I'm looking.

    Such a process might generously describe "subject to error."

    I'm a little surprised that this kind of thing has not been processed (that I can find) front. If it was, I'd like a link. The solution is such a good fit that I'm reluctant to give up Dreamweaver and go with something else - looks like a lapse such small feature - but he tanks completely the overall strategy.

    Frankly, I think it is a bug. I don't think it matters how or by whom the changes made to the model - if Dreamweaver ever notice that the model is different, he should realize that any resource based on this template could potentially be stale and offer the possibility to update. Or, at the very least, there should be a way to "Refresh" the site - have Dreamweaver compare the State of each resource to their ancestor model (s) to check the consistency and offer the opportunity to upgrade at that point to the possible contradictions. Something else that "synchronize your site, open the main template, add a space, delete, save, updates start" would be a better solution to workaround.

    I can't wait to hear suggestions, however.

    I'm not aware anyway make it work the way you are the Template of DW engine
    describing. The Templates folder and its files of constitutive models MUST be
    in the root of the site.
    However, I confess, I have not read your post in full to extract all the
    the granularity that you offered. If I missed something, please let me
    don't know.

    No, has nothing to do with what I'm trying to do.
    However, I received a correction to part of my message of an engineer from Adobe:

    Quote:
    Hi Travis,
    I read your post on the forum and agree it would be nice to have this kind of functionality in Dreamweaver, but because this isn't the standard use case (a site other subsites of conduct), you have to pass through a hoop more in Dreamweaver, rather than simply synchronize.
    I don't think you have to do the steps, opening the modified model, bringing a change, delete, and save. On the other hand, it please try the menu item:

    Modify > templates > update Pages.

    This should update all pages according to the current state of the Templates folder. Thus, instead of your steps: "synchronize your site, open the main template, add a space, delete, save, launch updates. Please try:
    1. synchronize Site
    2. modify > templates > update Pages...

    I totally forgot this menu item - it provide a usable workaround.

    you use what browser (exact version).

    what application anti-virus or security suite is installed and your current subscription?

    What third-party firewall

    What software anti-malware can be installed.

    What updates you trying to install? (Number of KB)

    What error do you get everything when trying to install updates?

    Please do it in your next reply.

    Suggest that you first spread malware as the cause of the problem by following these steps:

    (1) have your system scanned by the antivirus/security suite installed.
    (2) run this tool from Kaspersky: how to remove malware belonging to the family Rootkit.Win32.TDSS http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?qid=208280684>

  • Problem updating pages.

    I am facing a problem of updating pages questions of a model. Updates are blocked normal the following message:
    «There is an error on line 108, 200, absolute position 3822 column of... accueil.dwt: tag unbalanced head.»
    I don't know anything about language htm, I don't know what to do. If you have an idea, thanks to publicize me.

    «There is an error on line 108 200, absolute position 3822 column... accueil.dwt: tag unbalanced head.»

    This often means that your file Template.dwt contains coding errors which must be reconciled before they can continue to use it.  Almost all the HTML code is expressed in pairs of tags opening / closing.

    An asymmetrical head means generally that you are missing either of the openingor closing tag in your code.

    If you cannot resolve the problem yourself, please copy & paste all the code in your Template.dwt file into an answer in the forum.

    Thorben

    Hi, Rave,

    the problem occurs for the latest updates. I have now I reinstalled it Acrobat DC and scanner completely.  Now everything works again and I can create PDFs directly from the scanner as before. Boredom, it is then that your work you don t you want to reinstall everything... also it took a lot of time to find the problem and finally to find support in the Adobe support "labyrinth." Now, I disable the cloud customer and work with the system running.

    Thank you for your answer!

  • Adobe Muse: Why I can not get my page to scroll vertically to display the content of the page in the browser preview?

    Adobe Muse: Why I can not get my page to scroll vertically to display the content of the page in the browser preview?

    I am a novice and I do not talk about the web, so please excuse my ignorance!

    I content on my web pages in Muse design that descends below the visible window, but when I go to preview in browser, it only presents a preview which is visible in my window. Of course, I can press command + /, but I should be able to use my mouse wheel or my scroll bar to see the lowest content. I just can't understand how do! Is this something to do with the positions of Master Page header footer? They all look fine and normal and all the other sites I've done. In ADDITION, I checked non paged area (Mount table), and there is NO hidden content.

    I tried to move my content down (to 'wrong' it to enable vertical scrolling). I tried to move my foot higher than the content, but all useless page.

    Preview in browser = will just not scroll down.

    Hope it's a simple solution. Thanks in advance.

    See you soon,.

    I had the same problem and it took me almost 2 days to find a solution.

    See if that solves your problem (if all goes well it has been resolved since you posted).

    1. in the model Master, click on Page > Page Properties > metadata

    2. remove the small piece of code next to the body tag-{overflow-y: hidden}

    3. click on OK, then get an overview of your pages.
