Why my site look different in Internet Explorer

Hello there I am currently working on an eportfolio for school, but when you use internet explore my navigation bars look like this

ienav.png

However, in google chrome, it looks like this

chromevan.png

Please help me I have used cs6 and this is my website http://jacks-eportfolio.site90.net/

Please let me know.

The borders of EI are caused by a bit of css that IE adds default. Put this in your css to remove it...

an img {}

border: none;

}

Run the validator to http://validator.w3.org to find and fix errors in your page html. Don't worry those shown in your javascript, those which are caused by DWs default .js and can be ignored. If you want to that they if go away, you can put the script in an external .js file and link to him in theof the page.

You also use tables and APDivs to your layout that should be avoided, but that has nothing to do with your current menu problem.

    If you look at this site:

    http://www.staging-area-2.com

    His header/banner at the top is narrower than the record of page of a few pixels.  The two should be 900 pixels wide.

    Can someone help me?

    I don't see a difference between the rendering of Chrome, Firefox and IE9 (Zoom = 100%).

    However, the banner image 900px × 158px (scaling to 904px × 159px) is located on the page, index.shtml and not reduced on other pages. What do you see?

    PS. I think it would be nicer if you used your banner, GIF JPG not.

  • Why the site looks different in different browsers?

    Hello

    I coded my site in Dreamweaver CS4 and let it go:

    http://www.lidesign.cc

    The problem is that it seems perfect in Firefox, Safari, Opera, but when I open it in Explorer 7, a line appeared after the header and also there is no space between paragraphs. Pourriez me someone help and tell why it is so? I also enclose the picture, how it looks in Explorer 7:

    explorer.jpg

    Here's what it looks like in Safari and other browsers:

    safari.jpg

    Thank you vey much in advance!

    You have a few CSS errors.

    lidesign.cc%2Findex.html http://Jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/Validator?Profile=CSS21&Warning=0&URI=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.

    You have a bit of unnecessary code in your CSS.  To remove the borders of images and linked images, you need only 2 lines of code:

    / * NO BORDERS ON IMAGES * /.

    IMG {border: none}

    an img {border: none ;}}

    You can remove the rest of the present:

    a: link {img
    border: none;
    border-style: none;
    text-decoration: none;
    }

    a: vlink img {}
    border: none;
    border-style: none;
    text-decoration: none;
    }

    a: for more img {}
    border: none;
    border-style: none;
    text-decoration: none;
    }

    If your layout does not behave in Internet Explorer, add conditional comments between theandTags of your documents as follows.

    Hope this helps,

  • Why is Mozilla trying to Mougeot Internet Explorer?

    With each update to Mozilla Firefox you seem to do it more like the Internet Explorer which IS NOT of WORK TO START WITH and more time passing, you're now with Google Chrome, trying to IE Mougeot.

    Chrome has load a dangerous Script when it is on an https site and watch items from outside their IE https site called mixed content. Mozilla calls YOU disable Protection on this Site.

    GIVE ME A BREAK PEOPLE you & chrome are doing my job in tech support more difficult.

    It sounds as if you don't have a support question, you just vent your frustration with changes in Firefox. Another way to do is to use

  • Firefox 4.0 Windows 7 a site looks good in Solution Explorer, but the menu and submenu appears wrong with Firefox. JavaScript is enabled. How to fix?

    I made a website and it seems fine in Internet Explorer with the Windows 7 operating system. When viewing with Firefox main menu and submenus look bad and the submenus are not usable because they appear on top of the main menu. How can I fix it?

    As a starting point, I recommend the more liberal DOCTYPE (that I listed above).

    position of cor - el shows a change at one of scripts on your site so that the number of pixels is followed by the letters "px" (Firefox requires measurement units, in this case, the pixels).

    Thank you.

    must specitfy the alignment for each table so that it is Algin correctly in firefox, as for IE for example you can add just one

    at the beginning of your table and the closing tag
    tag at the end of the table and everything in this table will be Center rather than having to specify it int theor

  • Major problem with Muse site works only in Internet Explorer

    The site loads very well in another browser, but doesn't load at all in Internet Explorer. I'm on a Mac and do not use IE but when I load the site in a browser test I get this error: "JavaScript Expection: error calling the function switch: error: invalid argument".

    Noting all the site load.  We just went live with this site today and many people try to use IE, so I'm in a panic to find a solution.  I searched and seem similar problems but have not found a solution that works for me. Any help would be appreciated.

    The site is: www.palmvista.church

    Thanks for your help.

    IE is notoriously badly to deal with malformed hyperlinks. Other browsers ignore silently. IE shake its cookies and often after the hyperlink problem has been treated properly. I suspect therefore that there is an incorrect hyperlink on your page.

    In the 'Useful links' section, the hyperlink on 'FAQ' seems to be malformed. Try to remove that link and add a valid link, then re-publish/re-upload the site to test on IE. Which may, or may not, be the cause. But it's the first thing to try.

  • My site is accessible via Internet Explorer, but not Firefox? It's a simple jpeg image used as homepage.

    It doesn't matter if I use FireFox on MAC or Windows displayed in my new home page is not displayed when I have access to the field.
    The homepage in question is just a jpeg image called index.html in the main directory. The jpeg or 'home page' is accessible and comes up correctly in Internet Explorer. I check on a desktop MAC and a Windows 7 laptop. Yet once the home page is a single file.

  • I did recent changes on my site, and now some tables are is more focused. They look ok in Internet Explorer, and I did literally thousands of times without problems so far.

    I use FP2003 and that you have made changes the number of pages that have simple tables which are all centered in the public Service, and after the download of these tables is all justified to the left seen in Firefox, but in IE, they look very well. I had this site for many years and have more than a thousand pages with tables that I changed several times in the past without problem.

    The pages that work have an extra DIV that makes the center of the page.

    <body bgcolor="#000000" style="text-align: center">

  • Hey. I created my own Web site in frontpage 2003 and I added a video in .swf format. It plays ok and all the stuff. Howvever, it behaves differently in Internet Explorer than in Mozzila. more details below

    the HTML code of the said video is

    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="320" height="240" id="player1" align="middle">
    <param name="movie" value="razor_test.swf"/>
    <param name="quality" value="High"/>
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff"/>
    <param name="play" value="false">
    <param name="loop" value="false">
    <noscript><a href="http://newfreescreensavers.com/download-free-screensavers.html">screensavers free</a></noscript>
    <embed src="razor_test.swf" menu="true" quality="high" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" width="320" height="240" name="player" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"/>
    </object>

    in IE, it works like a charm. not auto play, do not loop and waits for to do me a right click on it to play/loop

    in mozzila autoplay for that, it looped, unless that right cliks user to stop the auto play and loop.
    It starts as soon as the page load is complete. " bold text '

    Mozzila also seems to be unable to play the sounds of information from Web pages and IE can.

    Your EMBED code is not the parameters set and the loop (not sure if incorporating support these).

    Maybe use an object for Firefox.

  • Why my video look different after have exported them to AfterEffects?

    I made a few changes to a video legacy, and after the export of the video, I noticed that the video looked a little less dynamic compared to the origin of the film. So I compared, and of course the exported video has been washed (whitish) upwards a little search in the comparison. Its very subtle, but still noticeable to me. So I thought that maybe it's an effect I did changed the images.

    So, I started above and downloaded the original file in a new project. Then without doing one thing, I exported it directly on my desk. The sequence was still different. I also double and triple checked that they are both the same files. (Quicktime MIV) Is there something I missed when exporting? I will say that this is my first attempt in a video export. I looked at a few tutorials and they seem not to be something different. I hope you guys can help.
    Thank you

    inheritance changes the video permanently, it creates a gamma tag as 'Hi', if your Player supports, I should be read

    with the gamma setting. This is why AE Profile Converter utility is usually the answer because it "Burns" in the right color and gamma.

    Since most of the video is rec.709, 16-235 and 0-255 to create different looks and darkens the image so that when downloaded on youtube, when youtube them brightened again, (which is bad, but good), they come out perfect.

    instructions for installation color profile Converter:

    set the input to rec.709 profile, 16-235

    and the output profile to rec.709 "no numbers here.

    This will darken your image.

    I also have gamma Lut that convert 2.2 to 1.8 and vice versa with the Dispcal free software.
