Why my switch Ethernet fails attached to AE?

People,

I am trying to add ethernet ports to my network.  I checked port work and the cable connected to my Airport Extreme (DHCP), and I get 100 Mbps download speeds when I connect directly to my Macbook Pro (El Cap 10.11.1).  When I add a new switch Linksys SE1500, I see the internet activity on the LED, but I get an IP 'auto assigned' to the Macbook Pro when it is attached to the switch.  I can't access the internet at all.

Modem-online airport => Switch-online Macbook

My cable modem is a lemon CDA3-35.  Interestingly, the back label says "web address 192.168.100.1.

Airport Extreme 5th generation runs 7.6.4.

MacBook Pro (El Cap 10.11.1)

Simply, I want more ethernet ports to two workstations in the House and let me puzzled by the error.

(I tried power cycling of the network, factory reset from the airport, in replacement of the switch, change the SSID, the lease renewal...)

Any help out there?  And happy new year!

Connect the switch to the modem and the AirPort Express to the switch.

I hope you find this information useful.

Best regards

Austin

  • Routing to the unauthorized via switch Ethernet HP 1910 169.254.0.0/16 subnet

    Hello

    I have a somewhat unusual situation at a customer site. They have an HP 1910 as a default gateway on their local network Ethernet switch. This is related to a Fortigate Firewall with a regular DSL connection and a WAN link to emote subnets. The question we have is that a new remote site has become active on the Wan. The unusual thing is that they have a 169.254.0.0/16 subnet. Don't ask me why this address range has been used but it is there. (169.254.0.0/16 is a space of address reserved for windows clients that cannot receive an IP via DHCP)

    The client is when they try and access a resource on 169.254.0.0/16 through the switch and on the Wan of the HP 1910 switch removes the packages and will not pass them. I have trioed add static routes on the switch, but it does not transmit packets 169.254.0.0/16. Al, the other traffic is very well. Has anyone ever encountered this weird behavior?

    I think I knew the people. Article 2.7 of the RFC section https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3927 which States that to 169.254.0.0/16 packages be sent to layer 3.

    Do not know why some devices transmit these packets, but it seems that best practices is for devices of L3 to drop packets that have 169.254.0.0/16 in their source/destination IP address fields.

  • cRIO only with switch ethernet connection and the computer

    Hello

    I use a cRIO-9073 connected via an ethernet switch and then to my computer and also connected to the corporate network. The cRIO connects fine (I can interact with the remote façade on the cRIO) using this method, but I can't view the remote façade when I connect just my computer for the cRIO via the ethernet switch. Where can I find the method of connection to cRIO by ethernet switch?

    Thank you

    Note: I configured manually my computer an arbitrary IP address and the subnet mask when you use only the ethernet, cRIO combo switch, no network. But I can't repeat the cRIO connection, there may be a step I'm missing.

    bermea,

    Hello! Let me be sure I understand your problem and then make a sugguestion.

    You have your PC and the cRIO connected to an ethernet switch that is also connected to your company network and you are able to see the cRIO to the MAX. However, when you have disconnected your network switch companies, leaving only the PC and the cRIO connected, you are more able to use the cRIO or see in MAX. Is this correct?

    It seems that you have indicated that you have setup your PC to have a static IP address for when it is disconnected from the network. If this is the case, you must also set the cRIO to have a static IP address. Here are some documents that can help you do this.

  • Why by clicking on an attached file of MS launched protected Word file and allows you to bypass the password protection?

    Using Thunderbird 24.6.0 Windows 7
    I got a MS Word (docx format) file as an attachment. The file is protected by password with the password that is provided in a separate e-mail.
    To launch the file, I double-clicked on the attachment icon.
    The file opens and displays the full content without prompting for the password.
    (Save the file on my computer and opening it from the word trigger the prompt of password as expected.)

    The whole point of sending files protected by password by e-mail, it's that anyone intercepting the file would not be able to open it without the password. Why Thunderbird bypasses this protection?

    seriously you and you associate should investigate with S/Mime.

    While the cost of commercial certificates, they are free to Comodofor personal use, so learning can be done without cost.

    But if the two of you have a certificate and install it. (you need to digitally sign your mail.) encryption of mail content including attachments are as simple as click on Options menu > encrypt this message when you compose your mail.

    No password, no e-mail with password and attachments in another mail. On your side, you get a guarantee that the message you receive is unchanged since that he showed when he was sent, and anyone who intercepts the message in transit would need to the key that is installed on the computer of the recipient to decode the content, in contrast to the normal plain which is sent text. And you don't notice anything else than a few icons when you read the mail that the decryption is done on the fly.

    Note that email certificates are sent to your browser when you click on a link in an email from the provider must be exported from the browser certificate store and imported into Thunderbird certificate store.

  • Firmware of the IOM on switch m6348 failed, incompatibility of fabric

    Update the firmware of the IOM 2 of the 4 m6348 failed to update and report incompatibility of fabric.  I tried the update process again and put back them in place.  They don't have the same power on in the Cabinet to access the console, is it possible to recover?

    The problem was caused because if you link the internal chassis interrrupteurs CMC, updated the firmware on the causes of MCC switches in the chassis of the cycle power and corrupt the update. (this is a trap that should not exist tbh)

    Avoid this problem by connecting the CMC directly or via an external switch during firmware updates.

    The firmware on switches is corrupt, I think that it should be possible to reflash the chips directly however this would require electronic expertise.  In our case, the seller has replaced the switches under warranty and we were able to update those successfully.

  • Why the first keep failing executives instead of timecode?

    Everything was fine before - first used real timecode by default. Lately, I think that someone else has used and something of passed to frames instead and now everytime I open the first, the chronology is reuse frames instead of the time code and I am constantly having to switch back. And if I use the media browser, each element is in both frames and if I turn it on to the time code, the next clip I select will returns to executives.

    Why would he do that?

    In your project settings, check that the timecode is defined as below...

  • Why 'byte b = 0xaa' fail to compile?

    Why "int I = 0xaaaaaaaa;" is compiled successfully, and that "byte b = 0xaa;" fail?

    Kayaman wrote:
    0xAA is an int.
    You need

    byte b = (byte)0xAA;

    And yet it works:

    byte b1 = 0x00;
    byte b2 = 0x01;
    byte b3 = 0x7F;
    byte b4 = 0xFFFFFFFF;

    But it does not work:

    byte b5 = 0x80;
    byte b6 = 0xFF;

    The reason is not just that 0xAA is an int. 0xAA is an int that is outside the range of bytes

    // ok
    byte b1 = 0x00; // 0
    byte b2 = 0x01; // 1
    byte b3 = 0x7F; // 127
    byte b4 = 0xFFFFFFFF; // -1

    // error
    byte b5 = 0x80; // 128
    byte b6 = 0xFF; // 255
    byte b7 = 0xAA; // 170

    0, 1, 127 and -1 are all valid byte values, but 128 and 255 170 are not. We must therefore go up, and explicitly tell the compiler, ' Yes, I really want to store this value that does not fit in a byte, so to be less specific and changing the digital value.»

  • Data transfer Ethernet fails on deployed Application RT

    I wrote a TCP/IP client that interacts with a TCP/IP server on a LAN (cable). I've developed this during a few months on LabVIEW 2014 (no SP1) targeting a cRIO9068 chassis.

    Development went very well, never had any problem Ethernet flaky with LabVIEW. Once I got all the balls I have deployed and went out of the factory.

    Ethernet connects at the factory, but no data is transferred. Puzzled, I reconnected my LabVIEW Development for the chassis machine, opened the project from which the application has been deployed and ran from the project. This works. I see this behavior on the original chassis also, so I have two chassis, which work with the development environment but do not work when it is deployed.

    What's up with that? All ideas appreciated, I can't on this topic in these forums or a general search on Google.

    Thank you

    The problem was caused by the execution of the first level VI is the reentrant value framework. I put it to not reentrant.

    With the help of the key has been

    netstat - a

    I saw that demand had several ESTABLISHED connections where alone should be possible.

    Along the way I cleaned up my code a little, but the root cause was multiple instances of the application currently running on the cRIO. If the boot vi is reentrant and then you get an instance when the material starts or restarts, then you get another instance when you launch the front panel on the web. Instead of the Panel connection to the program running, another one is started.

    During the execution of the development environment, that this does not happen. The development environment requires a single run on the top-level vi.

    A shout-out to the people of software OR: a small warning: 'several instances of the program can execute because the first level VI is reentrant' to the start of construction, and add something Panel documentation as "Connect a remote panel based on the web in a VI environment level a second copy of the top-level VI will call" would have saved me a day...

    See you soon,.

  • Why my nvidia driver fails when updating I get error 80070103

    I use the Device Manager to update my drivers, windows displays, it has no more than 15 times why?

    the nvidia GeForce 7300 LE thanks Cam

    Hello

    1. may I know the version of the Windows operating system you have? It's windows XP, Vista, Windows 7?

    2. are you aware of any hardware or software changes, prior to the beginning of the question?

    I suggest you to proceed to the next method.

    Method: Download the drivers from the manufacturer and install manually.

    Update drivers: recommended links

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-drivers-recommended-links

    If the problem persists, I you suggest to uninstall the driver and then install the latest driver on the manufacturer's Web site.

    i. go to Start, type devmgmt.msc in the search box start and press enter.

    II. in Device Manager, expand the drivers listed in the list of devices.

    III. right click on the nvidia driver and click Uninstall.

  • Why KB2833941 update continually fails to download

    Since 13 July, my computer tried to download the KB2833941 update every time I stop. I have tried several times today and it still fails. This is getting very frustrating and I'm getting very annoyed now. My computer is old and running XP. Do I really need this download, and if not is there a way to stop him from trying to download every day?

    I have a problem with both XP boxes, and in the past I got it with the other updates.  It is a long and frustrating problem to solve.

    The cause was the update has been replaced by another and installed first.  During the update of the former, it checks the versions of the files and since they are not correct it reports once again the update necessary.  It seems that this is caused when MS releases and update an update.

    I guess I should start trying to let him go, otherwise you will see your HD will begin to fill in the following directory \WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temp

    up to the time your PC breaks down.  Of course, you can just purge all files in that directory as well.

  • Why not gapless on Fuze attaches to it?

    Therefore, if the Clip got gapless, however flawed, why not have the same on the rocket?

    I guess Fuze is able to play without interval as the smaller Clip and the client software should not be too different to make it such a huge project...

    Any ideas?

    From what I read, it is not SanDisk refuzing as much as the manufacturers of the chip powering the "rocket" (Austria).

    With the right cards, it would be probably much easier and faster to Rockbox port to the V2 rocket (and Clip +).
