Hyper links pop up in the taskbar at the bottom when scrolled on but does not open.
You must have a browser by default in place.

29.0.1 Firefox won't open links that require a new tab to be opened.
29.0.1 Firefox won't open links that require a new tab to be opened.
What type of links are those?
As far as I KNOW, there is HTML code specific opening in a new tab, as it is to open a new window. Please enlighten me if this is something new to HTML5 that I haven't read.
Now, Firefox has a preference in Options > tabs to open new windows in a new tab instead - you have this pref checked?

I am trying to open a link from an email and get a box that says "can not be done, check with administator.
"operation can not be performed, check with administator.
I bet he has not said who and what he says is "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.
If this is the case a Google or Bing on this error message would have given thousands of messages all ask the same question and all with the same answer...

Please a) quote the correct error when you post here and not a paraphrase and b) Please use Google or Bing (or another search engine) first of all that most of the questions have already asked and answered.

Firefox does not open links from thunderbird link
I get a message that firefox is already open but not answer, I have to close and Open firefox and it works only once. If I copy / paste link from thunderbird he opens it.
I don't know, but it may have started when I got a update "tab mix more... I remember even having label mix more? Unless it came with firefox.
You need to open an instance of Firefox without using the - No.-remote command line switch and don't use this switch to open additional instances of Firefox.
Then you can open a link in an external application using this first instance of Firefox which started without - No.-remote. -
I used to be able to open links, but it has suddenly stopped working.
Click on tools | Options | Advanced and in the general tab, check "always check to see if Firefox is the browser by default at startup. Then click on the "check now" button to test.

What software do you use for email management?

I can't open links in the email Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista
The links in my email do not work in Outlook 2007. I use Windows Vista. Links worked fine until I installed then uninstalled Google Chrome. No idea how I can fix the links?
Thank you
It's called the problem after you have uninstalled Chrome. It is ultimately a default browser related issue; There are different 'cure', but none exactly foolproof. Here are some of the threads I have my favorites:

Firefox slow to open links from Thunderbird and elsewhere
With Firefox versions later than 34 (or maybe 35 - not sure) try to open a link to the page of a Thunderbird e-mail and occasionally other sources, results in Firefox 36 and 37 suspended up to one minute before opening the page and a new tab, so I'm forced to use 34 to keep functioning.
I did not include troubleshooting information that the problem is not the version of Firefox running.
Edit: I asked the question in this thread which will show some of the things that have been suggested and tried:

Why Thunderbird won't open for me?
I could open Thunderbird last night. This morning, I was unable to open it, even after I typed my password. After entering my password, I received the message "the password sending has failed. Mail server pop.mindspring.com replied: unknown user name or bad password.
What can I do to remedy this situation? I depend on access to e-mail for my work. Is there someone I can talk about it on the phone, who can help me to solve this problem earlier?
Thank you for your help in this matter
Best is to contact your email provider. It may be a temporary problem at their end.

FF in the past few days stopped at the opening of the pages when I click on a link in an e-mail. For example:

As much as I hate IE, I tried to open the page with the link in IE and it worked fine. All my plug-ins must be up-to-date.
Please answer in simple terms, I get confused easily.Thank you
