Why my touch screen capabilities no longer work?

I have a Dell Inspiron 11 laptop PC series 3000. You can bend to be used as a tablet. However, in the last two days, the touch screen does not work. No idea why or how to remedy?

This issue would have occurred because of damaged or missing drivers in the system.

In order to understand the issue more clearly, I'll ask you to provide me with the following information.

  1. You did it all hardware or software change on the computer?

  2. Do you receive an error message? If Yes, what is the exact error message?

  3. You see an exclamation point in Device Manager?

To check an exclamation in device, Manager please follow the steps below.

  1. Press the Windows key + X.

  2. Click on Device Manager.

  3. Select Human Interface devices.

  4. Check if you see a mistake.

Note: Also check if the touchscreen drivers are disabled. If they are disabled, right-click on it and click Activate.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if that helps.

Method 1:

Run integrated convenience store & device and check if it works. Please follow the steps below.

Note: If your computer is having problems with a recently installed device or other hardware, try to use the hardware and peripheral troubleshooting tool to solve the problem. It checks the common issues of interest and ensures that a new device or hardware connected to your computer has been installed correctly.

  1. Press Windows + W on your keyboard to move to the search option.

  2. Troubleshooting type, and then click Troubleshooting.

  3. Now click on the option show all the .

  4. Click hardware and device and follow the instructions to run the troubleshooter.

If the problem persists, follow method 2

Method 2:

I would say to download the chipset and video drivers from the Web site below and check if that helps.

    So, I had one that I puzzled. I just got a new Dell computer yesterday and as I did the last 10 + years, I install a copy fresh retail because, like most people, hate dealing with their additional software and prefer a clean install, so I don't just not deal with uninstallation, etc.. It turns out that that may have been a bad idea. After that the installation has been made, touch no longer works on the screen. I installed the drivers from the Dell site without success. The Device Manager has no missing material and all windows updates are up-to-date. Intel recognition system stylus and touchscreen capability there. I also checked the settings Pen and Touch on the contact tab and everything seems to be OK (everything I compare these parameters on is a Dell coming Pro 8, but they are the same). My suspicion and I might be away on this, is that I use a copy rather than the OEM of Windows 8.1 copy retail. I got tired of a Pro and a regular retail (Yes, two legal copies) and none worked. I don't know that new computers have the key embedded in the uefi (bios). I tried to install with or without the embedded key substitution. But it's the only thing I can think of and I hope you guys had a few ideas or someone else has had this problem and can help me to solve the problems. Model: Dell XPS 15 9530 with QHD touchscreen monitor +. Update: I discarded retail vs oem fresh installs. I tried an installation using backup/restore of Dell disks. Same deal. It is to be some sort of setting or driver who is not on their site.

    I cannot yet understand what has gone wrong, but Dell pulled out and swapped the screen out and it works perfectly. I swear it worked out of the box, so I have no idea how the material do not so fast, but the good news is that it is fixed!

    I am on Windows 10 and recently, I decided to update my drivers using driver Booster. Everything worked well and I had no previous problem with this laptop or Windows 10.     To resolve this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer. "under the status of the device.

    I have no idea how to reconnect the material and I do not understand how it is even not connected.

I read your post on the Forums of HP Support. I wanted to join you and help! I understand that the touchscreen on your PC portable HP Pavilion 11 x 360 stopped working after you did an update.

    You mentioned that you used a program called driver Booster to make the driver updates.

    Please follow these steps to see if you can activate the touch screen:

    • Open the Device Manager
    • Find "Human Interface Devices"
    • Expand "Human Interface Devices"
    • Right-click on "touch screen HD compliant."
    • Click 'Activate' (if available)
    • Restart your laptop.

    If this does not change anything, please use the system restore feature and choose a date that was before the problems began.

    To use the system restore in Windows 10:

    • Go to the Search
    • Type of Control Panel
    • Click on Control Panel
    • Click System
    • Click on the System Protection
    • Click the System Protection tab
    • Click on System Restore
    • Click Next
    • Select "Choose a different restore point"
    • Click Next
    • A box that says "Restore your computer to the State it was in prior to the event selected" will pop up
    • Choose event
    • Click Next
    • Click Finish
    • Click Yes to confirm

    When the system restore is complete, you'll be up a pop that says that it has been completed.

    Well, a touch screen is completely optional with Windows 8. While it is designed for you to use a touchscreen, there is nothing in the design that prevents you from using a mouse and a keyboard. In fact, IMO it works a little better with m/k with the touch screen.

    It's just an additional way to interact with your computer - touch screen is not intended to replace other ways.

    -Recovery disk (or flash memory)
    -HDD recovery

    I can open any email, as usual. Links in an email seem to work, when I try them. However:

    Once I open an email, I can't delete it or close.
    When I click on "ACTIONS" or "new MESSAGE" a message "LOADING..." "never, apparently ends in a loop.

    When I click on "New MESSAGE", a text msg pops up at the bottom of my screen saying, in my view, what the computer is reading:

    If I try to remove it, the same msg appears, less "minty/page/dial."

    This situation occurred about two days ago on my laptop. The same email normally works with Safari on my Ipad, too on my laptop via Windows Live Mail (that I no longer use, but still the program). So, this seems to be a problem in Mozilla/Firefox?

    I think you should also check for malware. The best advice I've seen is that given by SpiritX in this forum thread.

    But if there is some other keyboard problems then go to control panel configuration, Manager of devices, keyboard, look at all the warning icons then do a right-click, update the driver or if you are not logged as administrator right click, properties, allow the change, enter the admin password then tab & update of the driver.

    Turns out having had a problem of this laptop in particular, as you suggest.
    I tried to clear cookies and cache, but the problem remains same after uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox. I finally downloaded, installed, and the part used 'TuneUp' software including deleted the cache and cookies and updated my Malwarebytes Anti - Malware Pro after that I uninstalled FireFox. So when I reinstalled FireFox, AOL email was opened quickly by using this browser. Happy

    The Atrix is very picky with the Chargers. Use the one supplied with the phone. I had the same problem with my old HTC charger. The panic phone. I changed the charger HTC on an another outlet and it worked. I always recommend no. to use your "old" Chargers
