  AFAIK you can't do much. This laptop has standard stereo speakers and not high quality Harman/kardon as some other models, so if you want to have good and brilliant sound, you need external speakers.

  I had to reinstall windows XP more than 4 times. This is what happened to each instance.
  The computer seems to have become slower and slower, finally stopped after about a year.

  Windows XP is the best Microsoft OS (my personal opinion).
  Maybe Windows 7 will be better but who knows

  However, the M40 Sat was preinstalled with Win XP and everything should work fine! There are no problems of compatibility between the M40 and Win XP!

  But of course, you can install the W2k on your M40, but you won't find many drivers Toshiba for the W2k.
  On the European driver Toshiba page you can find the drivers for Sat M40. You have to look in the archives (product type choose Archive instead of specifications).
  There are some drivers W2k but only BT and WLan driver.
  Other drivers that you need to collect clean hands.

  I have an A210 - 11 c (PSAEG) with Vista. A few weeks ago and after installing Vista SP1 my mouse USB optical (wired Logitech V100), began to fail - the background lighting of the mouse turns off and the pointer freezes.
  The first time I used to disconnect, then return to the mouse, which solved the problem.

  Later I had to change the USB port as well, in order to make this work. And finally, since yesterday, the mouse has stopped of works not at all on the laptop. Plug it into a USB port, Vista displays a notice of unknown/a device failed, but not more details.

  Moving the mouse over other PC shows the material is ok - the mouse is recognized and work.
  I also tried to connect other USB devices (an MP3 player), which seems to work fine as well.

  So, it doesn't seem to be problem USB Hub.
