• Drag a tab on the desktop (or in the tab bar) does not open that URL in a new window, only a new window with a blank tab FF4 RC2 (made with RC1 as well).

  When I drag a tab open existing tab FF4 on my desktop toolbar, a new window opens as expected, but the tab in this window does not load the URL of the tab dragged from the previous window. The tab "Move to a new window" menu item is the same as well.

  I disabled the Tab Mix Plus add-on, but it made no difference. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing?

  I use Tab Mix more and do not have this problem.

  • In Firefox 4, to enter Safe Mode, hold the SHIFT key while clicking on the icon of the desktop Firefox 4.
  • Firefox Safe mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, place you in the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > Themes before start Safe Mode. When you enter Safe Mode, do not check all the items in the window, just click "continue mode without failure." A test to see if the problem you are experiencing is fixed.
  • If the problem does not occur in mode without failure, then disable all your Extensions and Plug-ins, and then try to find out who is causing by allowing both the problem reappears. You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change via file > restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use 'Disable all add-ons' on the start safe mode window.

  I published Captivate 4 training in Flash/HTML and put it on the server. I have several links to various websites within the formation, but they open in the same window of my Captivate training. When I hit the back button, I start at the beginning of my training instead of here where I left.   Look to the right of the where you type the URL. You should see a button with an arrow down there. Until it clicks. Choose new!

  You must add target = "_blank" to your url or depending on how you call the url, put it in the attributes of link field.

  I've been creating websites in WordPress for a few years and still today, I find that when I create a link to open it in a new window using Firefox as browser the link just opens again the same page

  Thanks Jscher it waqs a add on called 'Adblock Plus 2.2.1' as soon as it was turned off everything was back to normal. Just to prove it I active re and the problem comes back. So I completely removed.

  wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.

  For a successful export, follow these directions:

  1. Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
  2. Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
  3. In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
  4. When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
  5. Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
     If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.

  * Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location. 
  * If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default.
