Why open Word 10 whenever I click on the link to download the software updated to another program without report?

When I get an automatic pop up in various programs (e.g., adobe, flash, iTunes, java, etc.) to download the current version of this software, instead of my browser to open on the site of this program to download, Word 10 opens and the Web page as a Word document. My operating system is Windows 7.

Hi, Thomas

Sometimes installing a new program or if you have changed anything on your pc sometimes your browser by default can change.

Go to start > default programs > set your default programs > a list of default programs, > select Internet Explorer (if you use IE) If you use IE select the browser that you use from the list, then select "Set this program as default", then press OK. Now please try to open your browser/upgrade to update your program to see if it loads correctly.

If it still does not work, you can check the following:

You can also check file extensions are setup correctly do the following:

Go to start > default programs > now click on associate a type or Protocol with a program file > file extensions list > scroll down the list until you reach the bottom making sure everything looks correct. HTTP: should be defined as the browser you use to navigate the Web of Internet Explorer for example, if it shows your browser, close the window if it has another program, select HTTP: then click on change program, then select the Internet browser that you use from the list.

Keep us informed.

Thank you
