Why ReadCLOUD he created folders on my hard drive?

This morning when I pulled my computer, my boot hard drive was full. He has created many problems.

Created ReadyCLOUD of files to backup on my computer and the files copied from my computer in these folders on my computer instead of sync them to the ReadyNAS102.

Why we do this? I have these updated files in place on the NAS to synchronize the directories.

How can I get the synchronization back to actions on the ReadyNAS?

Hello

Yes I think so. If you start a new backup without deleting the backup share first a new one will be created with the same name and added a "-2".

Bye,.

  • Why is my Panel records did not reflect the folders on my hard drive?

When I import photos into Lightroom, I set it up so that the images are sorted in folders by date. For example, I created a folder in 2011, so if I import photos taken on December 18, 2011, Lightroom creates a subfolder in my 2011 called 2011-12-18 record and dives photos imported into this folder. I used Lightroom for years, and in all this time, after an import, I see the folders in the library panel, as this (parent folder of 2011 with all subfolders named by date):

    1.png

Now, instead, Lightroom is to put the images imported into the right place on my hard drive (creating a subfolder with the date and put the images imported into this folder), but in the folders in the library panel, the folder containing the image is not displayed in the appropriate parent folder.

Here is a screenshot of the import dialog box showing that I import an image and that Lightroom will create a new folder named 2011-12-18 and place the image inside (in this screenshot, you can not see this new folder is a subfolder of 2011, but you can tell it is a subfolder of the same level as all other folders for all other dates) :

    2.png

After import, when I look in my Finder, a new image folder is in the right place (here you can see it is in the subfolder of the folder 2011 2011-12-18):

    4.png

But it does appear in the files from my library not Panel not as a * subfolder * 2011, but at the same time for 2011.

    3.png

If I try to drag the 2011-12-18 folder in the folders Panel in 2011 folder in the folders Panel, I get the following error message:

    5.png

So my only option to correct the problem with the files Panel is to do the following:

    1. go to the Finder and move this folder 2011-12-18 to my office. This causes Lightroom does not know where the file is and put the big question mark on it in the folders Panel.

2 right click on the folder with the question mark in Lightroom and click on 'Find the missing folder.'

    3. Locate the place where I moved the folder (for example, my office).

    4. in the folders Panel, drag the folder 2011-12-18 in the 2011 folder (which will also move this back up on my hard drive from my office to the 2011 folder).

Obviously, this is not here. For years, whenever I imported the photos in Lightroom, it created the new folders, and folders in the library panel reflects the hierarchy of folders on my hard drive.

I went again and again my settings to import to see if I've accidentally changed something, but I don't see anything out of place.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to get the Panel files from Lightroom to reflect the real hard disk after import, without having to go through all these machinations?

Thanks a lot for your help!

P.S. I use Lightroom 3.6 on Mac OS X 10.6.8 but happened for at least a few months. I hope that when I updated to 3.6, it would solve the problem, but no luck.

I just wanted to update with a solution I found by a user on Photoshop.com, in case someone reads it later and encounter the same problem:

In Lightroom (not the Finder), I did all the following:

    1 create a new folder called 2011new.

2 moved in 2011new all subfolders of 2011.

    3 remove the 2011 folder.

    4 renamed the folder 2011new 2011.

Problem solved! Now when I import in 2011 file, everything works as it should. Yay!

  • Why my Dell Vostro have a Toshiba hard drive?

April 25, 2015, I contacted Dell warranty on my hard-drive on my Vostro 3750. They ran diagnostics, concluded it was defective (Test read HardDrive-Targeted; CFI:N; KYHD:N; DD:N; Dr:N). on 27 April, they sent a replacement under the service request number 910355792. So when it happened, I've swapped disks and returned the defective one. Now fast forward to December when I was able to install Windows 10 Pro. Site Web de Microsoft had only a few requirements to run, mainly RAM, graphics processing and an OS to date start with. I didn't know that Dell had a list of computers that were not to be tested with W10. The installation went along fine and let him update the necessary drivers, have pre-installed just enough so he can start and connect to the internet to update. I was unaware that one of the device drivers to settle and my computer seems to work very well. Then about two weeks ago, he started to slow down. I noticed it would begin to freeze a little bit, but he would always thaw quickly. Then a week ago, I wrote a document of night (College Sophomore so this computer is pretty much my life) and closed the lid for the night. Now, the battery life is already pretty bad, so needless to say it's dead during the night, but when I went to turn it back on it took forever, it lights up. Easily 10-15 minutes just to get to the login screen. I unlocked it and it brought back to my office to plug it back in on my desk, where it remains almost religiously. I then got on Dell Support, which is where I finally found the 3750 has not been tested with W10 and ran a quick diagnosis that says the hard disk, which has been listed as a TOSHIBA is in critical condition and must be replaced immediately. At this point, I had to see what was going on, so I opened the Device Manager went to disks and here, he said that my hard drive is a TOSHIBA MQ01ACF050. Well, that's weird. So I checked my event viewer to make sure and it was indeed migrated, configured and started when I allowed and installed W10 in December. There was also an unknown device in the event log which is how I discovered the missing driver. Then to top it all, the administrative events log had 16 000 events from the moment I installed W10 until today, almost everything else just tell Harddisk0 DR0 has a bad block. duh. So I'm saving all our important documents to an external hard drive and I guess I will be W8 but what I really want to know is why guaranteed Dell send me a Toshiba hard drive. Any advice on any of these issues would be sincerely appreciated.

There are only three manufacturers left portable players - WD, Seagate and Toshiba.  Almost all system vendors use each of them.

  • Creating catalog on external hard drive

    Hello.

I just bought LR5 & amp; want to use the library etc. on an external HD

Could someone give some advice on how to implement. I found the default location on my MacBook Pro HD and the folder contains excerpts from catalog & amp; the catalogue but I'm not sure if I copy / paste it into a folder on my external or I I let them.

    Any advice will be welcome

    Adrian

I recommend you leave the catalog in the default location. It will work more efficiently and is relatively small in size compared to your image files. Just place all your photos in folders on external hard drive, then use Import > Add to align on Lightroom.

  • my: C drive shows 130 used and 10 GB free but I can only represent 65GB when I total up to folders in the: hard drive C. Why is this?

I have a laptop Lenovo T61 with 140 GB hard drive using Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

Certain files and folders are hidden.  To see them, go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / View and uncheck to hide system files, and check the box to show the hidden files and folders.  Which may help explain the difference.

In addition, Vista does not have a very good job of reporting used disk space.  It is a common problem with no real solution under Vista.  Certain files and folders are simply not included (for some reason any) in the summary or remain hidden despite the changes described above.  I believe that this applies to system restore and shadow copy information and probably others as well the files/folders.  You can change the maximum space used by these programs that can clear up some space (with the compromise that you have less restore points).  Here's how: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76227-system-restore-disk-space.html.

I recommend http://www.hdgraph.com/ to scan your system for how the space is used.  It is not perfect either, but it is a bit more accurate and provides more data and information in a way that makes it easier to read and understand the structures.  I don't know if it fills up space system restore and shadow copies, but it could (and is probably worth a try just to see what it shows).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Organizer of the PSE 14 create pictures twice on HARD drive

In fact, what happens when I import photos from an image folder on my hard drive in 14 PSE Organizer?  Is it creates copies of these files?  Where on my drive hard Organizer stores its imports?

    Lightroom Noob says:

Thanks again Michel for all the good info.  This may sound as if I prefer pressing the folder structure for a catalog, but it's just that until recently I had little choice. I'm new to Photoshop Elements, having received PSE14 this past Christmas and up to install about 2 months, I had to rely on the structures of folders to organize the photos on my hard drive!   Now, I'm just trying to understand how better to implement the PSE Organizer.

This is a common situation and generally elements users begin using the Organizer only when they really feel the need for a more powerful organization. I have friends who are perfectly happy with their own folder organization. They are also much better than I remember when a given event took place or they have their own hierarchies of folders for other subjects.

So what about my example question (posted yesterday), I think that tell me in fact to pass the sentence rather misplaced files in my files, I just catalogue them properly organizing using the PES - am I not right?

It's true in general, but there may be good reasons to separate your files in different folders or different disks and volumes. If you have your photos on multiple disks, you can keep a single catalog and manage everything. It's perhaps a good solution to get more disk space.

With the Organizer, you also have the choice to separate your photos in different catalogues. It is a choice with the following main rules:

-different catalogs are ok (and recommended) for totally different activities (personal professional vs...)

-different catalogs are NOT the solution to work faster. Size of the catalogue is negligible for speed.

-You can easily merge or split catalogs.

I should also mention that if you have reasons to prefer a folder with a navigation software organization, you can use Adobe Bridge:

Re: Where is bridge in items 10?

    Re: elements does support bridge?

I'm partial to the Organizer, but the bridge can be what you want.

  • Wanted M6: Why are there 7 partitions on the hard drive of my desire to M6?

As you can see in the screenshot below, my hard drive has 7 partitions.

'C' is the main partition and "D" is supposed to be recovering.

Then why have I not 3 additional recovery partitions?  And why the recovery partition "D" repeat?

Something get screwed up with my upgrade of windows 8 to 8.1?  Can I consolidate one of these parties?

"If you keep an open mind, life will give you more opportunities."

I wouldn't try to consolidate anything - you could end up with a no boot situation. Some of us have recently discussed this and it was never cleared up. From what I know, it's the small recovery partition is Windows start-up files. The Efi partition is used for diagnosis, updates to the Bios, etc. Of course, C: is your partition Windows then recovered on D: files to run a system recovery in case you need to reinstall Windows. The great mystery is why Windows displays duplicates of some of the partitions. They are not physically there - but seem to be.

This reminds me that I need to re - visit this discussion and see if any explanantion was never found.

  • To access the files and folders from the hard drive Windows 7 on Windows XP, access denied error message.

Original title: portable destroyed - need for car access

I don't know if this is the right forum - please advice if it is not.

My friend's laptop computer was destroyed in a car accident. I pulled the drive and placed it in my desktop XP system and the drive appear in good health. However, I received permission issues trying to access records on the disk and thought that it was because of me using Win XP and the laptop was Win7x64. My questions below are based on the assumption that I'm not able to access these files on my Win XP system. If this assumption is incorrect, so please let me know.

I have a laptop that I don't use and put the disk in it. I was hoping it would be plug and play all the new material, but after reading a little online, I know that this is not the best thing to do and will probably not work as did the earlier versions of Windows.

In the end, I care retrieves the contents of the disc, although it would be great if I could lend my laptop for a few weeks with "its files" until it sorts how to replace the laptop.

Can I get the player Win7x64 working on the laptop computer of replacement by reinstalling Win7x64 on this laptop? I'm not "means a clean install/reformat, but have rather the Setup program detects an existing installation, and do its magic to get the operating system runs on new hardware?"

I know that this raises questions of MS licenses. If the installation process could get his old system running on the laptop replacement, if I have a small window of time completely to access his files before being forced to re-register the OS? I'm hoping so.

I'm looking for only a short-term solution - I do not recommend that he hopes that drive long term because the laptop got quite truncated of the accident, and once he gets a new laptop it will have everything he needs on this subject (OS, licenses, etc.). If I have a small window of time where I can simply copy their important files, or to lend him my laptop with its player and him can bring to its domestic network and the print out of all the things that are important, that it's going to be all together to move them to a new laptop when it is available.

    Thank you

    Hello

You experience this problem because of the permissions applied to these s folder.  To resolve this problem, you will need to take ownership of these files and folders.

Method 1: You can follow the steps mentioned in the link below to take possession of the records

Troubleshoot "access denied" when opening files or folders

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-access-denied-when-opening-files-or-folders

(Article above applies to Windows Vista, not valid for Windows XP)

Also check out the article below

How to capture a file or a folder in Windows XP
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/308421

Method 2:  You can try a custom installation (not a format\clean facility).

See the link below for custom installation
using the install option custom without formatting the hard drive

Note: In custom installation only data would be transferred in Windows. Drivers, applications and the old folder will need to be reinstalled.

  • Is it possible to extract personal folders from my hard drive and transfer to an external hard drive if Windows does not start?

Hello, I recently started my Windows XP Dell computer and it should start up normally unless it would run the ChkDsk utility. It would freeze then 68% on stage 1 and goes no further. I called the people of Dell and after trying so many solutions, including safe mode, safe mode with network and CommandPrompt, we ran the diagnosis. The hard drive and memory are fine, no errors. He concluded that it was the operating system and must be restored. However, I have important files, I need to extract from my hard drive and he recommended me an external hard drive. I bought it, but now I'm not sure how to extract my files from my drive hard if Windows can not even boot the desktop computer. Is it possible to extract these files without the use of the desktop computer?

And you've burned the .iso image, and not as data? If Yes, then you have created a bootable CD. Put it in your optical drive and restart the computer. You may need to change the boot order in your BIOS. With some machines, you can get a temporary startup command menu by pressing a function such as F12 at startup. Other computers require that you enter setup and change the boot order in the optical drive first of all from there. When you start your computer it will be information about which key press to enter the BIOS (Setup) or give you the temporary boot order.

After you changed the boot order to boot first from the CD and rebooted the computer, Knoppix will boot. Have your external hard drive connected to the computer before you start doing this. After Knoppix is finished booting, you will be in his office. It will be very similar to Windows. There are icons on the desktop for your internal hard drive and the external hard drive. Copy files from the internal to the external drive as you want. Review what I wrote about the use of Knoppix in my previous answer. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • End of Windows 7 permission - stop users save files and create folders in the C drive

I am trying to create the image of the construction of Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit machine.

If I check properties of the C drive, go to the Security tab and click the Advanced button, I see not leave of UserGroup is only read and execute authenticated users however have extraordinary and create folders / append permisions data on drive C object. Because of this non admin users can create folders and save files on the C drive I want.

If I remove the permissions for the authenticated users group, even the local administrator is not able to save the files in the C drive or create a folder here.

Please suggest a system of authorisation which may restrict normal users to save data and created folders without screw Windows behavior in C drive.

Sorry, I don't want to store them something on the root of drive C, they should be able to store files and folders in their user profile.

I already gave you an appropriate command to achieve this goal:

  • 3 recycle Bin folders on external HARD drive

Why doesn't the $RECYCLE. BIN on my external HARD drive show different files when I run Windows 8 and Windows 7?
I guess that both present the same content, but they do not.

It is a normal behavior. It is doubtful, you will get an answer as to why.
To answer your question, no, if you disable the Recycle Bin, the files will be deleted immediately on this drive.

After the installation of several photos that I want to do various things like post to social networks, save as a .tiff, jpg and have access to the file edited without open lightroom.

They are nowhere is on my hard drive?

Can someone direct me to a useful resource to understand this.

Any changes that you made on the images are stored in the catalog, the original files is kept intact.

  • Why my mac does not recognize my hard drive or SD cards?

I got a new Macbook Air last month. Since I had so much problems with it - mostly because if you plug in anything whatever in the SD card slot or USB drives, it does not recognize them. I own a mac before, as well as PC laptop dell, so I am aware of the problems when formatting the discs everywhere, but even when I plugged a new passport hard drive, the computer couldn't find. Similarly, you may not find all the SD cards when I tried to use the SD card.

What is going with this? I am a photographer living, so I need constant access to these two. This new model has some new method for transfer of files from the external hard drive etc.?

Close, then connect the mac to a power adapter, disconnect all external devices.

    reset the SMC

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

reset all external then pulls even deleted

Once you open a session reconnect the external hard drive

If the drive is connected with a hub of party 3rd do not use it and connect the drive directly to the mac

Connect the external hard drive and open Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility disk utility

The drive appears in the list of external devices?
