  • Why some text converted to outlines when opening a PDF file in artificial intelligence?

I often open a PDF file from InDesign CS5, Illustrator CS5 (Mac). These PDF files is saved from InDesign using the press or parameters PDFX1-a.

When I open them in artificial intelligence, I get the warning that "to preserve the look, a text has been described.

Of course, I don't want to do.

The text that gets described has nothing special. This is apparently at random within a paragraph or a table cell. In the screenshot below, the living text has the blue underline trait; underlined text does not work.

I see no reason for this. There is no transparency involved. Only black text on any background. There is no special 'appearance' that needs to be preserved. The fonts are all Adobe OTF (Myriad Pro below).

Can someone explain why this happens?

    test.jpg

It seems because of the police you using openType and lines consist of ligatures, (of characters such as "fi", "ff") they are made of the outlines in illustrator. If you remove those ligatures in indesign, it would be good for you with illustrator.

  • Why can't I download programs or open pdf files?

    Hello
I have 2 month old dell Vista desktop Pc.
I had a virus recently which, with the help of Mcafee, I think that I managed to get rid of.
It seems that my pc works properly and I can connect to the internet and surf the web. BUT I can not download files or programs from the internet. I tried to download, among other things, free AVG, ccleaner, spybot. I get the message to download, click to launch or save, the program downloads according to normal. Then, when he ask me to click to install, just windows close and disappear and there is no trace of the program.
Another thing that happens is that I downloaded both spybot and avg to a memory stick using my laptop and the same thing happens. They will not install on my pc.

Also, today I received via my hotmail account, a PDF of a reliable source and exactly the same thing, the document does not open. (I have adobe installed and working properly)

It drives me crazy, I hope someone has suggestions on what goes wrong.
    Thank you very much
    Rob

    Hello
I think Ive solved the problems now completely.
It seems that the main problem was Norton systemworks 2003, which I had installed on my pc but was at the origin of the conflict.
I have now managed to delete this completely and now I can download programs and also open pdf and excel docs before I couldn't.

It doesn't seem to be a massive amount of files strangely named etc. on my PC, and whereas the pc is a few months, that I don't think there are a lot of left over files from the virus.

So even if everything seems to work well I don't think I need to clean up windows Vista.

Thank you very much for your help, it has certainly helped me clean my PC

    Hello carine,.

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that you get an error message when opening a Pdf file.

This issue would have occurred due to some corrupt app settings.

    I need some information.

    1. How are you attempting to access the PDF files? Is using an Adobe application or using any application such as reader app on the computer?
    2. Did you change your computer before this problem?
    3. You get an error code?
    4. You did the changes to the file location for the user account on the computer?

If you access PDF files using an application I suggest you try the method below.

I suggest you try to reinstall the program / app that you use to open / access PDF files.

  • Acrobat Pro DC crashes when opening pdf files

Hai all, since the upgrade to Acrobat XI DC I had a few problems.

All first when Acrobat does not work at all and I want to open a PDF by double clicking it I see that it gives it some thought, but it will not open the file. Not a singel file will open this way.

When Acrobat runs it can open files by double clicking it. So, it seems a number of launch.

I also have a problem when opening acrobat and I click on tools without waiting first a couple of minutes, Acrobat chrashes with a message not responding.

Because I need to place 35 DC Acrobat installs and 13 CC Adobe installs for now I'll stop these unfold.

Does anyone have a solution for my problems?

I found that it is the Pitstop Pro plugin that is causing the crash. Without the plugin, it works fine. But as soon as the plugin is in the plugins folder, it starts to get blocked.

Also I found that some habit of printed documents. I don't get an overview. My colleague who runs Acrobat XI can preview them just fine and print them.

Can we expect Adobe to work on a solution to the problem of Pitstop Pro?

  • Solution to improve performance (to increase speed) when opening PDF files with large 3d model?

I insert a large .u3d model of construction in PDF file (more), very slow when opening it (more than 30 minutes). Is it possible to improve it during the creation of the PDF file? It is acceptable to reduce the precision of the model shape/color/texture when inserting in the PDF. I think that my hardware is OK, THINKPAD 520 with 8G of RAM. It's urgent for me. For solutions or clues, please let me know.

    Thank you and best regards.

No direct experience of Okino but you won't find many people who say that their PolyTrans is a powerful tool. However, I have tested all other applications that I mentioned in my previous answer by a remark: If you aim to simplify the mesh, they are all extremely complex. Perhaps, the only suitable for the layman is Rhino rhinoceros - downloads; it provides an export utility where users can select several options to reduce the number of nodes. Also look at the script environment: I could quite easily find a way to generate scripts in Blender and MeshLab to process a batch of files without the GUI, but I didn't do it with Rhino, but I see it has script capabilities Rhinoceros - overview and Developer: rhinoscript [McNeel Wiki]

  • Drive access denied when opening PDF files

I noticed this on adobe Reader Versions XI and DC. What happens is whenever someone tries to open a pdf file that has name of file path is greater than 217 characters they will receive the error 'Access denied.' rename the file or move it to a path that has character < = 216 characters users can then open. If you try to save to the location it will appear to have saved, will throw any errors, does not save everything simply.

I upgraded the drive to the new generation of DC. Tested on a new installation of Windows 8.1, I had at my disposal and tested it on all computers 15ish which give the same result. With different PDF documents are both on the internet and made by me using
    Acrobat.

    A few notes.

This only happens on the network drives.

I have access to all the locations of readers, that I tested.

I had another user test this thus giving the same results.

If I add my UNC path name of the file instead of drive letters, the amount is greater than 254.

For example, if the path of the file is H:\My network Drive\Somearbitraryfolders\filename_Greaterthan217.pdf Its always less than the 254 that windows gives to us, but if I add my \\domain\public\drivename\Somearbitraryfolders\filename_Greaterthan217.pdf UNC path so this eqauls more than 254.

So even if I can move files to this location by going through drive letters, stick them in, all that Jazz. As the reader is concerned it is the limit of windows, and may not be able to do something with it.

If the Player looks at the UNC path instead of drive letters?

If so is there a way for him to watch the drive letters?

A quick edit. I just found this

Known issues | Acrobat DC, CD player

Problem: error access denied when you try to open the PDF file of the symlink via UNC path [3844582]

So, I'm going to assume that the answer to my question is no. All that I can do is hope for a update or tell my users not to do ridiculously long paths.

  • Handling CC2015 illustrator of the vector elements when opening pdf and eps format files

Hi, I use Illustrator CC2015 to compose the technical figures including graphics and plots generated in other software (GraphPad Prism) and exported in pdf or eps format to open in artificial intelligence. I find many faults in the vector elements contained in these files when they are opened in artificial intelligence, but not so open in Acrobat. For example, the circles that must be complete (data points in the plots), look in the Prism, Acrobat, etc. of the preview, but there are gaps when the same file is opened in artificial intelligence (see examples). A lot of minor line defects too. Seems that it must be something specific about how I interpret these elements; whatever the problem, it wasn't a problem with the CS6, who treated these transitions ok. Any ideas? Thank you!

What version of the plugin are you using for a PDF file? For example, this is what I see:

Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Modules > Plugins category

    Adobe Acrobat 10.1.4.38

If the problem occurs on some sites including, could you provide a URL or describe any reason than those which may differ for other PDF files?

If the issue occurs for all the PDF files, you could test these sites in Mode safe? It's a standard diagnosis in order to avoid interference by extensions (and some custom settings).

First of all, I recommend you backup your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox. (You can copy your profile folder Firefox together somewhere outside the Mozilla folder).

Then restart Firefox in Mode safe (questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode) of Firefox help

Help > restart with disabled modules

In the dialog box, click "start mode safe."

If a PDF file is operating normally, it points to one of your extensions or custom as the problem settings.

    Any difference?
