  I have a weird problem. When I open After Effects CS4, icons, other programs and After Effects of course starts to blink, lag and so so. When After Effects is not running, everything works fine. At first, I thought that it is an OS problem, so after about 2 months I bought new HARD drive and formatted, installed Windows XP SP3, installed After Effects CS4, but problem has not disappeared.

  Then maybe he uses a path or command set when running AE he uses not otherwise... Impossible to say. There is certainly a problem somewhere and that you run on an operating system inherited as WinXP certainly adds an extra level of complication regarding how the driver behaves... Sorry I can't be more helpful, but it's really something where you would have to open the computer and watch things whiel running AE plus of course prior check of cables and al lthat and check the driver. I suggest you a grab your next computer geek best (at school?) and did a quick glance.

  OK, finally solved.

  I uninstalled what is called "Windows Live ID Sign - in Assistant", as well as the usual games of .NET, MS for Windows - LIVE and games for Windows Marketplace Client, then ran a registry cleaner (I used CCleaner, which is free) and restarted.

  I then reinstalled GWL from MS. site

  I hope this helps someone else.

  Why the fonts has appears as a font without serifs? I got it on my Muse designed site (not yet released but still working on it) for several months and suddenly the police is no longer Serif but turned to Sans Serif. It is a strange question. How can I fix?

  I tried to repro adding fonts has and on the same page, addition of serif fonts, on issue design they are different as well.

  Please post screenshots and details, as if all page text are converted sans serif or its with a specific page, moreover if text shows different fonts or you refer to option name filter Panel showing text fonts.

  The titles of these books are supposed to be red.  They show red in every single place that I can find them in Dreamweaver.  They saw in the Red mode live view.  But they appear in blue in the browser.

  WHY is this?  Is it a case of some CSS too being ruled by a lower rule?

  The tiles in blue which should be red are the twelve days of Christmas in Washington, the clock dance and Sky-Cycle of Cromwell Dixon, etc..

  I use Windows remote access to my desktop (Windows 7) from home (also Windows 7). The fonts are blurry. When I use the remote Windows to access Outlook only, the fonts are clear and sharp.

  2 open remote desktop connection, click options.
  3. click on the tab advanced; Put a check mark on the font smoothing.
  4 if it is already checked, then uncheck the font smoothing

• Disable all the smoothing of the fonts in Windows 7 (ie: including the taskbar, menus, Control Panel, etc...)

  I would like to turn off completely all the fonts, straightening, smoothing, etc... on Windows 7. I struggle to read and it gives me a headache.

  Here's what I've tried so far:

  1. go to Windows 7 Basic theme. (No Aero).
  2. run the ClearType tuner. (It did not help. "I want to delete the font smoothing, not tweak it.)
  3 disable ClearType altogether. (Taskbar, menus, etc. are still sleek/anti-aliasing).
  4 unchecked "smooth edges of screen fonts" performance-> Visual effects. (The taskbar, help, Board policies, etc. remain smoothed).
  5 changed all my fonts Tahoma under personalize-> Windows Color
  6 using the regedit, added "Tahoma" as the first option under HKLM-> software-> Microsoft-> Windows NT-> current-> FontSubstitutes
  7 delete all fonts in/Windows/Fonts Segoe (had to take possession to do)
  8 deleted almost all foreign fonts in/Windows/Fonts (I was frustrated...)
  9. I tried to play with HKCU-> Panel-> Desktop-> FontSmoothingType (1 and 0) and FontSmoothing (1 and 0).
  10 tried to run my laptop to a non-native resolution (which makes even worse)

  The steps above has removed most fonts smoothing, the taskbar, dialogue, Control Panel, etc. boxes are still sleek/anti-aliasing. So far, the only way I found to completely turn off all smoothing is to switch to classic mode, which is unfortunate to delete any visual styles either. In short, I want Win7 fonts to render in a mode binary/full pixelated, with no blur rendering or subpixel gray.

  I hope that the typography of Win 7 team makes this optional 'functionality' of SP1. I'm holding out until then. But if you insist on using 7 before smoothing fonts is fixed, here's how to deal with registry fonts substitutes and UAC/protection system.
  Change under FontSubstitutes registry settings so that "Tahoma" appears before Segoe in all parameters of FontSubstitute. Then, appropriating the Windows directory (I took possession of all subdirectories and files, that may be excessive, but made other tweaking easier to deal with) delete Segoe. To appropriate, right-click on the Windows system folder, select 'Properties', click Security, advanced options, and then clik on owner in the advanced security settings... Click the button modify and change of owner to your own account. Do some "replace the subcontainer owner...". "is checked.
  It is an exaggeration, but it will get.

  We have Windows 8 Pro and would like to change the font size under the icons for a larger size. In Windows XP and Vista, this been done easily by selecting the look and colors of Windows and selecting icons.

  We would like to see an easy solution to this problem.

  This changes the ICON and the text of the same size, I want to change ONLY THE TEXT under the ICON not both. I need to enlarge the text under the icon, I don't want to enlarge the icon.  You have been able to do under XP and Vista.
