I'm a novice help!

Hi robertzee,

-Did you of recent changes made to your computer before this problem?

Method 1: Follow the suggestion given in this link and check if this may help in fixing the issue:

Method 2: Try the following steps to get the contents of the folder "admin tools".

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

The change is by design, however, if this is something you want restored, please submit your proposal to Windows 7 comments.

  • Arrange program shortcuts in the list of all programs on the start menu

If I organize my program shortcuts on the list of all programs from the menu start when I reboot they are all changed back.

As in, I move the "CyberLink PowerDVD 9" folder in the "Media" folder when I restart a new

Folder "CyberLink PowerDVD 9" is placed on the list of all programs on the start menu.

Now I have two folders "CyberLink PowerDVD 9" in all the programs one at the root of the list and the other in the folder 'Media' from the list.

How to stop windows 7 to change the list of all programs on the start menu?

Is it only occurs for the shortcut of CyberLink, or perhaps for each shortcut where you changed a location?

You can check this: Start > right click on all programs > you can select Open and open to all users > you can check is not listed in the two location?

Shortcuts usually appear at the previous location after a few updates to the specified application.

Every thing seems to have returned to normal, but when I restarted my computer all the icons on my desktop and all programs in the start menu disappeared, and yet, all programs are always in: Control Panel > add/REMOVE programs.   I can still connect to the internet by going to-Start > my computer > view > go to the desktop. How to get back all the icons on my desktop. I tried a click right, but in vain. I also ran a scan complete antivirus. any help would be appreciated.

Thank you Joel S. Before I could put your advice into practice a friend recommended a friend who advised me to do a system restore, which he said he would be happy to do it for me. So look like an easy option, I agreed. It seems to have solved the problem (fingers crossed), but now it seems that I need to format the hard drive. If you have any tips on formatting hard drive I'm all ears. Thank you Owen

  • I noticed from lately, when I change my settings on the 2 online games, I play, I can disconnect turn it back on and notice the changes eventually reversed to where it was before.

original title: Vista settings will not save. Why?

I have a problem. When you use this computer (and this computer has Windows Vista), I noticed from lately, when I change my settings on the 2 online games, I play, I can disconnect turn it back on and notice the changes eventually reversed to where it was before.

It's getting boring because it is not happened in the past and when I noticed it happened for the 2nd game after seeing this constantly on my 1st game, it came to me that it is not the games that does this: it is the computer itself.

What should I do so that the computer can actually record setting changes I made?

    Hey, Andrew,.

Most likely a configuration of settings on your computer file is damaged. You can take a look at this article that Blizzard has published:

  • Missing programs in all programs on the start menu in Windows 7

I have Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1 installed on my laptop. In recent weeks, I noticed that a lot of programs have disappeared from all programs in the start menu. If I dig up the program on my HARD drive so I'm able to find but it causes a lot of problems that the programs are not visible in all programs. Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the reply!

Yes, I had most of the programs listed in there, but some programs were missing...
Such as PowerPoint and Word, etc were missing from the list of all programs...
So what I did that I dragged the original MS Office program into the specified folder...
I guess that is not automatic!

    @cbr_fox
If you want to create the new folder in the start menu
    Right click on all programs< on="" newly="" opened="">< double="" click="" on="" programs="">< create="" new="">< rename="">< add="" the="" shortcuts="" of="" your="" programs="" to="" created="" folder.="">
Now you can access the folder in the list of programs.
    Hope it solves your problem.

  • Folder icon in all programs on the start menu

I tried to change the icons of the folders in all programs on the start menu. But after that, it has been restored. Nothing is left.

Hoping that windows can automatically display the icons of the programs installed on these files.

    Hello

I understand that you want to change the icons of folders in the files shows all programs menu.

You can change the icons of folders which are displayed in the file Explorer, but these changes will not be reflected in the access to the start menu.

However, you can use some 3rd 3rd party apps that can help you to do the same.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Problems with the installation of program and the Administrator role

I have a new operating system in 9 years (XP user) and finally bought a new computer with Vista and I'm totally lost. User and Administrator profiles seemed like a good idea, but they are inconvenient for me and significantly. I was lucky good installation of some programs of the administrator account, such as the office, and they work very well with other standard users. HOWEVER, many programs do not work, and although they appear on the desktop for each user, when I try to open them, they want to go through the installation. Makes no sense.

I wish I'd stayed with XP at this point.

My update is that I gave up. I don't have the time and energy to devote to their dleaing with Windows 7. If I could have just installed Outlook and it was operated as Outlook Express identities requiring passwords to open an Inbox, everything would be great. But having a single account opens an Outlook Inbox before requesting a password so that any user can come and see the Inbox of Outlook fins without password user. The password is only seems to allow the Inbox send and receive new mail since the last connection. Frankly, Windows has become extremely bossy and was intended to do what Microsoft thinks is best, not that users don't. I hate it. I hate the new version of Office as well. I hate users. Basically, it's the worst purchase I have made. If I could have picked up this machine and bought a new iMac I would have but I got more than 14 days before the full extent of its clunkiness.

I have a new machine, I want to throw because the operating system responds to my needs are simple... which are a program of easy mail to several users, some different software work-related (I deleted the office suite, I bought and reinstall my copy of Microsoft Office 2000 that is how the current exercise sucks) and for music management and use. In fact, the uses of music and electronic mail are the major uses of family and there where Windows sucks the most. The 'user' approach is required by Windows but iTunes does not work like that, nor it works easy to operate with multiple users.

So that's the update. Bottomline, I have this thing on Craigslist to sell and, hopefully, by a Mac. I should never have left Mac 8 years and I never should have bought a Windows machine last month.

    Hi dudex3eme,

    (a) what were the changes to the system between the time where everything has worked, and when you noticed the problem?

    (b) do you use the computer as an administrator?

Step 1: Power the computer as an administrator and check if the problem persists

Step 2: You can check with another user account, if you do not have a different user account, you will need to create a (see link below)

    Create-a-user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account

Let us know if this works very well as expected

    If the problem persists,

Step 3: A scanner online for any threat and try to correct
