only, I was contacted by a person claiming to be windows saying that my computer has been infected and he called for help. He hit me the windows and "R" key at the same time. Then I typed in "eventvwr" and who showed me a list of some events with indicator red and yellow. Then he wanted me to go back and enter "iexplore www.support.me", so he could fix my computer. I became very suspicios and did not continue with his appeal. Is it a hoax or someone really trying to help me? Because I did not communicate with him, I feel that this is not a legitimate operation. Thanks for your help.

But I have not received any error message on my screen. When I asked them how they got my number they said it's from the database of Windows. The number they gave me is 02921252715 and when I called the number of the person on the other end told me that they are a company called Windows e-solution, independent company and is not attached to Microsoft Windows. Recently received a phone call from a person saying that my computer has a virus online damage the hard drive. They said that my computer license of Microsoft and utilimately ID wanted remote access to my computer via maintenance PC (pc22.com) to correct it. Is this a new type of fraud that goes around?
It is not a new type of fraud, but it IS a scam. MS does not give that kind of information, and they do not call users.

I just got a phone call from a person stating they are from Microsoft saying that my computer is infected. They asked me to run something and then they gave me a webiste to type. I was very tired and I asked for a phone number and she gave me 1-416-915-3536 or 1-800-500-44600 and ask Christine.
Is - is this legitimate?
Please notify. Thank you... Bernadette
It is a scam. Whatever you do, don't let them get close to your computer. MS does not have that kind of appeal.
Good luck.

Received calls of 20-30 of India saying that my computer is at risk.
I get calls from the India by saying that my computer is in danger and that they work for Microsoft Windows - they want me to turn on my computer, etc.. They seem to know a lot about me - including my address, phone, how many computers we have etc. It's for real? My computer seems to work very well. Usually, the caller I.D. is blocked but this last time, as the number 161-408-6100 came. I got probably 20 to 30 calls of this nature in the past months - has anyone else experienced this?
Thank you
