Wide edge Tags build conditional

Can you add conditional tags build a book so that each chapter has the same configuration?  And then you can set the tag once for the book, update and reap the benefits?  Or do you do chapter-by-chapter-by-chapter-by-chapter-by...?

Thank you.

Select all necessary files in the book and file > import > Formats in all at the same time.

You can manage Cond text compared to the level of the book by selecting the chapters in the book using the view menu

  • Black border added around object build conditional HR.

We have recently updated since TCS5 2015 release and now we have a problem.

The HR project is related to the FM band. There are a few pictures that are defined with a conditional tag build. These HR images are created with a black box around the edge.  If I remove the CBT in FM, the black box disappears in HR.

In FM, there is a setting for TCC of 'Indicators of Condition Show' where, if on, places a color border around each photo flagged.  It died in FM, but it seems to be stuck on HR, and I can't find in any case to turn it off.

If the frame anchored on the FM band is empty, then HR does not add the box.  If I add anything in the anchored frame, returns the box.

If I turn off the option in HR to "Distill use to generate an Image", the image quality decreases abruptly, and the box will now appear under the image itself.

If you change the image in HR, it shows that the black frame is part of the image, so something is added during import.

This is not happened is any previous version of the TCS. How can I lose the box?

    Hello

Thank you for reporting this issue. We have reproduced it and we'll fix it in the next update.

  • How to remove a tag of conditional compilation

I write here, because the link to the General discussion seems to be broken.

I want to remove the conditional compilation tags that come with RoboHelp 11. For RoboHelp online help (accessible by clicking on the?) Help button in the dialog tag to build conditional) says:

«To remove the tags conditional build of a project, click project.» Expand the folder for conditional Build tags, click a tag, and select Remove. And then click OK. »

I haven't used RoboHelp for a while, so forgive my ignorance, but where exactly "click Project? I seem to remember that the conditional Build tags folder used to reside in the project files folder in the project manager pod. But he's not here.

    Thank you!

  • Build Conditional Tags - problems when generating content

    Hello

Just wanted to print 4 pages of a long aid project so I added the compilation conditional tags called "ad-hoc" and created a print Doc SSL where ad hoc was conditional create value.

When I generate the document I am making everything always. Am I particularly thick today?

I tried marking all 'online', and then adding the ad hoc tag to pages construction the condition as 'online' AND 'ad hoc', but then nothing.

    Help appreciated as never.

    Nick.

    @Tompsk on Twitter.

I don't think that the tag a wide impression is necessary. If you apply credits for all the subjects, then remove some before generating applied online with NO of GENERIC help, you will get only the items which you have removed the tag. No need to apply another.

If you want to print, then forget about tags, just a print layout where you select only the items you want in.

Printing works in the opposite way to online. Impression, that you include, online, you will need to exclude.

  • Conditional tags build... weird behavior?

If I apply a conditional build tag to a section in the table of Contents tab, the topic gets included in the output, even if I've specified this tag to exclude.

However, if I ask even conditional build tag a theme from the project tab, then the topic gets excluded (as expected) the output because I've specified this tag to exclude.

Is this lack of uniformity in the behavior of design? I looked at using RoboHelp, and it seems that there is nothing wrong with adding conditional build tags to the themes of the tab contents.

Can someone shed some light on this? I use Adobe RoboHelp HTML 6, Build 099.

    Thank you
    K

PS: It seems that RoboHelp completely ignores tags conditional build that I add to the themes of the tab contents. If I see these topics marked with the project tab or the subjects, there is no shading color for these topics. The shade of color for the watch only subjects if I tag the project tab or subject themes.

    Hi Kutra

Looks like you are badly understand operation of the tags of the generation and the table of contents. The table of contents are simply a file with pointers to your topics. It can be many many topics that never see the light of day in your table of contents, but exists in your project. Just because a topic is not in the table of contents does not remove not the project. So when you apply a label of construction to a node in the table of contents, you simply tell RoboHelp to create the project without this particular table of contents entry, if you exclude the tag. But when you apply the tag to the subject itself, you say RoboHelp to create the project without this topic if you exclude the tag. And if you do that, there's really no need to tag in the table of contents it won't appear here even if the subject was excluded.

  • Tags of conditional compilation with numbered lists

Hi, I use conditional compilation tags to create a separate version of our help file of product for a cut of the version of the software. In our help instructions we use numbered task to explain how to run a process.

When measures are not mandatory for the coupe version, the numbering is not auto-update accordingly - is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you
    Richard.

Sorry I was talking rubbish. If this can be deleted please go ahead.

  • Topics marked with the conditional tags still appear in the documentation

    Hi all

I have a big problem with RoboHelp 7.

I defined a new conditional tag (I have 2 together) and I mark the topics in the table of contents with relate to this tag conditional, right?

When I generate the chm file, everything is OK. The headings marked with the conditional tag do not appear in the table of contents that I specified to exculde subjects marked with this conditional tag.

When I generate documentation however, everything is still in the document even if I was clear that I don't want these subjects to appear.

Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong, or how can I properly so that I get my results?

I am using Windows XP Pro and RoboHelp is updated with all service packs.

    Thank you

    Bogdan sailor

Right-click a topic in the table of contents and select apply the tag build conditional. Check out the new / Multiple option.

    This screen displays.

You can clearly see if the tag is applied to the table of contents or the subject. If it is applied on the subject, so it will be not when generating table of contents entry will be automatically deleted. If it is applied to the table of contents only, he is always in the build.

  • Post HR 9 Upgrade - links drop-down list (dropspots) Broken output Htms & missing footer

We went to RH 9 a few months ago. I noticed that the links in my trips generated drop do not work in our core (the largest and most problematic). Outputs are currently HtmlHelp and WebHelp.

I understand why it does not work, I don't know what is the origin of HR to do on this project or how to fix it. It seems not be the case in other smaller projects, that we have.

Here is a view of code on Notepad ++ showing what is happening. On the left is the exit code, on the right is code of HR:

    10-7-2011 1-09-39 PM.jpg

Footer info is also missing from my ouptut htms.

When I preview the topic (CTRL + W) inside the HR, everything works fine (that's why I did not notice it at first).

Any ideas on getting the HR to include my footer and links from the drop-down list again?

    Thank you very much!

    I solved the problem.

It turns out that some tags build conditional printing of thugs somehow ends up in the bottom of the page master. Our master page has a conditional tags online. I don't notice it in the preview window, nor in my test project because I was not the application of conditional compilation tags at all in these cases.

I removed these tags and now things work as usual. * Phew *.

  • RH8 conditional build Tags - new content returned in searches

I had to create a CHM books or specific topics of my project.

So I created a tag of conditional compilation, applied to the desired content and generated a CHM. I noticed that the table of contents contains only these books/subjects that I've specified with conditional build tags, but:

    • The size of the CHM file is identical to the full version.
    • Unspecified subjects back research.
    • Links under the headings specified subjects unspecified work normally.

    These bugs are RH8?

  • The deleted output tables finished when the conditional tags using build

Hi and thanks for any help you can offer on this...

I use the WebHelp/print Documentation HR 6 single-sourcing method, and I created two build conditional tags - "OLH" (online help) and "printed". Essentially, the conditional tags are awesome... except when my content includes HTML tables. If a table exists within a set of conditional tag material, material that exists AFTER the table (and outside the conditional tag) is omitted from the finished output (i.e., regardless of the unique method out of the Source used for the production of finished products - WebHelp or printed Documentation). In some cases, only certain documents after the table is omitted.

For example, in a comprehensive document which includes a specific paragraph and a data table I want to exist only in my printed docs. I apply the tag "Print" in this paragraph and the table. Once I have generate the schema of WebHelp (or even preview and apply the term appropriate on the conditional tag build), labeled "Print" content is left out, but is so everything that followed it. even if I don't apply a tag of conditional compilation to the material in question.

I have a workaround, but it sucks... If I delete the tables (and re - format the text content), everything is fine, and the build tags work properly. The thing is, I want to use the tables in my content.

I wish a WYSIWYG solution, but if I have to change the code, I'll live... I just need to know what and where to change (I played with the ' < p > < style = "" x-condition: printed; ' > ' tag and additional locking "< /p >" and "< / style >" tags, but that has not worked ").

Thank you for taking the time to review that and for any help you can give.

    Hi Vernholio,

This looks like a problem that is covered in the forums before. Basically, it happens when the Board as a whole has been select. If you click and drag to select all of the cells in the table, then apply the conditional tag, there should not be problems with the rest of the content.

  • Reactive layouts: publish multiple Sites with conditional Builds and which connect

I hope that someone can provide a simple solution to publish problems I've had with adapted presentations when you try to publish several sites with conditional builds. Essentially, I want to be able to have an index page that links to one of the two variants of the published sites that I called 'General' and 'specific '. When I click on the 'general' link I want to not open the site which was published with a conditional for all these subjects compilation labeled as 'general' and when I click on the 'link' want it to open the site which was published using a conditional version for 'specific '.

Here are the steps I took to create sites and can't seem to get to bind correctly:

Table of contents, topic Creation and tagging content

    1. Creates a Table of contents.
    2. Added 2 topics in the Table of contents. The first topic, I called "general" and the second issue I called, 'specific '.
    3. I then click with the right button on the "general" and selected subject Tag to build conditional apply. From there, I've created a new tag called "General".
    4. I repeated this process to create the specific tag, but do a right-click on the 'specific' theme and the creation of a new tag called "specific".

Layouts reactive and edited the sites based on the conditional tags

    1. Created sensitive presentation using the standard layout and content generated without any conditional builds.
    2. Duplicated sensitive put in page and gave him the content of 'general' then it is generated using the conditional, "General" version If the finished publication published content has shown that the 'general' subject, as expected.
    3. I then repeated the same process for the specific content and content using the version parole, generated 'specific '. When over content published showed that the subject marked as 'specific' as expected.

Added an Index page to the table of contents

    1. Created a new topic to serve as the launch page.
    2. Added a 'general' hyperlink called for the launch of the general "theme found in the general publishes from the resource manager.
    3. Added a hyperlink called 'specific' to the launch of the general "theme found in the specific issues from the resource manager.
    4. I then republish the sensitive standard layout site.

From this point, it gets stuck and won't open properly published Web sites. I don't know why it won't launch hyperlinks correctly. Is there something I'm missing? Let me know if you do not want to see my files. I will be gladly their.

OK, thanks a lot for the capture screen. They help more than you realize.

So here's one of the biggest mistakes I think that you have done so far. You use the resource manager to link to published results. If it is technically possible to do, I'm pretty sure Adobe never planned for it to be used this way.

It may help to think in terms of creation of food products. I have long considered as RoboHelp to be very much like working in my kitchen. All consumables (heading text in the headings, images, HTML pages, etc.) are just as raw ingredients. (Eggs, milk, flour, etc.). The places of storage (hard drive) it's like the pantry and the fridge. And RoboHelp provides facilities to easily combine ingredients to create the different recipes.

This next bit will be somewhat exaggerated, but bear with me. Maybe you have one or more neighbors and all you want to share some common "ingredients". If you set the things where each of you have access to a wine cellar and a shared refrigerator. Maybe you do a Dutch sauce killer. You create it and place in the refrigerator, then your other participants have access through the common "fridge". This is exactly what the resource manager is intended to help.

Now assume that you create something like cookies chocolate chip and you keep in the refrigerator. Well, that's fine, but you don't want to use cookies to chocolate chip already baked in a recipe that might call for cookie dough. But that's what happens when you take an exit and place in a place intended for raw ingredients. And you will see the strange behavior. Prepare for these cookies chemically changes them so that cookies already are significantly different from the dough used to create them. Similarly, you don't want to take one or more output files and reuse in a project source.

So in your case, you run an index file and that fires events to produce the output. All should be well. But when you click on the links to open topics, topics are intended to show up more in the right panel. Think of the picture of how works of image on a TV. The moment that link you to something intended to fill the screen, he is forced into this smaller area on the right. If you end up with what you see in the last picture.

    I suggest the following steps.

First, REMOVE your resource manager exits.

REMOVE all links that can point here.

Output records where people will consume copy your projects. (The web server)

Then figure either the parent (.. /.. / somefolder/somefile.htm) path to other systems or the absolute path (http://www.whatever.com) and to link the projects in this way.

Sorry, but without seeing the installation of first hand, it is difficult to say what should be these paths.

I hope this was helpful... Rick

  • RoboHelp captures together tags conditional compilation for tables

My FrameMaker 9 tagged conditional text tables is not captured by RoboHelp 8.

My tests show conditional text for tables in FrameMaker when imported in RoboHelp gives me a table with no tag of conditional compilation at all. If I have, in addition, the value of conditional text for the content in the table I find myself alone with an empty table. IOW, I have to "man-handle" all tables in RoboHelp... sucks big time!

My RoboHelp settings are fine as I can see all build tags in FrameMaker in RoboHelp (they are not automatically applied to the tables). Applying the compilation conditional tags before importing FrameMaker files is never a good idea because it is not working properly. From my experience, you must always set the same conditions of generation in RoboHelp as you do in FrameMaker. IOW, repeat!

Everyone has the same problems, or I'm doing something wrong here?

Adobe confirms that this is a bug!

  • Conditional compilation tags or phrases in the table of contents

    Hi all

I meet another problem with my conversion, this time with the tags and conditional compilation expressions.
Everything seems to go well in my subjects, but not in my table of contents.

Some of my topic titles have words with conditional text applied in the source FrameMaker document.

These subject titles also appear in the table of contents that are automatically generated when I connect my framework book in Robohelp.

I put the conditional compilation expression in the Webhelp settings dialog box and then save and build.

These topic titles appear to pick up the correct conditional compilation expression in the subjects themselves, but the title of the table of contents displays several conditions (including the condition that I set myself to 'Exclude').

Thus, for example, if the title of my topic is

    "Conventions in this documentonline help."

    WHERE
    -----
document > should appear in PDF format only
    and
online help > must only appear in Webhelp

I can get the Webhelp topic to use the title "Conventions in this online help.

but the corresponding TOC header looks like this:
    "Conventions in this documentonline help.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.
    What

Conditional compilation tags are not imported to the table of contents of the FrameMaker content. However, you can follow another approach to achieve this. We can manage the conditional compilation expression in FrameMaker itself and import the content of filterted in RoboHelp. In order to achieve this, set the conditional compilation expression in FrameMaker. Enable the setting in RoboHelp to 'apply FrameMaker text building conditional Expression '. [File->-> import-> Edit (FrameMaker settings)-> other settings of project settings]

This way of RoboHelp will import only the content filtered with conditional tags build resolved according to the expression applied in FrameMaker.

  • Problem with the conditional tags in printed output

I write help files for different versions of our software - version 4 and 5 using Robohelp for HTML 5.0.2

There is a large overlap of information between the two, so I use a help file joint with marked topics that are specific to version 4 or version 5.

I went out and then use with 'NOT v4' or "NOT v5" as the conditional tags.

It works fine in the HTML output. However, I encountered problems with the printed output.

Ideally, I want the help file using the option "generate the single document" because it means that the document produced, without the single output field. However, when I do, the tags conditional build fail and I get a piecemeal result.

If I generate the document by using the option 'generate individual documents' tags conditional build work, but I get the only field I want to avoid.

Does anyone know how to get the conditional tags to work when the option "generate the single document" is selected?

Pierre and HKabaker - thanks for your comments.

I think I have the answer now.

In the properties for the SSL Print dialog, the third screen is the dialogue of section layout. I had removed some sections in the right pane (for example, the default title page, glossary, and index) because I did not want them to appear in the final printed output. It seems that without these sections present conditional compilation tags do not work correctly when the document is released by using the option 'generate a single document ".

I started again with a "blank" printing of SSL version. Conditional constructions using the "generate a single document" appear to work fine when I leave the dialog layout intact section.

I can even do the conditional tags build an injustice because the option "generate a single document" (after that I made the changes in the dialog layout section) seems to be that some of the chapters in the table of contents and omitting others.

  • RH6 dislikes the conditional compilation Tags?

We went just to HR 6 yesterday and I've been upgrading of our projects and test them. One of the projects (project A) seems to have upgraded correctly. It's very simple: no conditional build tags or conditional constructions. I generated WebHelp perfectly and spot tested a few links just to get an idea of how the project is in the new version.

However, the other project (project B) is complex and includes several build tags. When I generate WebHelp with one or several tags in the build, I get an error and the report. Here are the steps I took to solve problems, but still can not find the cause:

    1. If I UNDERSTAND all the tags to build the project B (no excluded), I have NO errors. So, I thought that there could be a problem with delayed RHX5 tags.
    2. I then tried to create a new tag RH6 project b and excluding that, and I get the error again. Then, I was wondering if it is a global problem with RH6.
    3. so then I opened a project has, (who had no problem so far) and created a new tag it and excluded. I had NO errors. This project continues to operate correctly.

So it appears there is something wrong with the project B. It may or may not have something to do with the tags.

Is anyone else had problems with complex projects with a lot of tags in RH6? I appreciate all help. I'm puzzled.

    Thank you
    Lisa

    Hi Rick and Harvey,

Sorry I was not more specific, Harvey. HR completely crashes (stop) after you acknowledge the error. The error report was extremely long, so I hesitated to make my message too long if someone would recognize the problem comes with a short description.

It turns out that I used the fixed. DLL that Rick made reference in his message. It is extracted from Peter #71, RH6 Patch for the issue of the merged cells and links problem. This corrects the problem.

Thank you, Rick and Harvey, for your help and responses!

    Lisa

P.S. on a different note, I must say that I REALLY like to be able to get rid of my subjects of redirect and tag TOC and index instead of RH6 entries. AWESOME!
