WiFi is turned off equipment

Hello

In my Yoga pro 2, Intel wireless-n 7260 chip is hardware disabled when using linux.

I checked with fedora, ubuntu and suse. The release of "rfkill list" is always the same:

0: ideapad_wlan: wireless network
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: Yes
.
.
.

How to unlock it?

I have a dual boot with ubuntu & win 8.1 now.

Thank you

Michael

For others with the same problem, here's how I solved it:

There is a module called 'ideapad_laptop' which prevents the wifi to start module.

A good workaround is to disable this module of the index updated it. It worked for me with Ubuntu and Xubuntu. This guy seems to have done the same thing on fedora.

Make a new file for your personal blacklist

$ sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/myownblacklist.conf

and add an entry for the module

blacklist ideapad_laptop

restart and you're ready to go!

To turn off only the module without putting on a blacklist, she, do:

sudo modprobe - r ideapad_laptop

  • WiFi is turned off

    Hi all

I have install software called GrimeFighter by Avast a few days ago, and since then my WiFi does not work.

A switch for WIFi/BT on the keybord shows yellow (if I press the key, popup message saids turned off / disabled. now he has disabled).

What I've done is set up a wirelwss connect or reconnect to a wireless network to change your network settings in the control panel. He always com up to "WiFi feature is disabled.

The next thing I did was reinstalled WiFi driver from Device Manager, then I got yellow bang on the icon of the adapter and the properties it saids:

"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52) »

I don't know if the driver was wrong kind or problem is another somwhere.

Please give me some advice for my problem.

  • IdeaPad Y530 wireless wifi is turned off then on battery

I have a new Ideapad Y530 Intel 5100 wifi wireless network card. It works fine when I am connected to an electrical outlet, but when I am on battery it loses connection Wireless after about half an hour of use. When I check the network card, it shows that it is disabled. I'm trying to enable him, but she remains disabled, I can't operate unless I restart the computer. I've done so far that has not fixed it problem:

    1. I checked the power management settings in the device for the network card Manager and you have unchecked the box "allow the computer to turn off the device to save power".

    2. I already uninstalled Readycomm since I had problems with it before

    3. I also affect roaming aggressiveness 1.

Can someone direct me on how to keep network to get wireless card disabled when I am on battery?

In addition, once I lose the connection Wireless because the network card is disabled, Windows Vista network settings are really slow to come for me to check my network connection and settings, never had this problem with XP. System seems to hang for several minutes before I can get into the network and sharing Center.

    Thank you.

I think I've figured this out. I disabled and then uninstalled the power management Lenovo that at first seem to solve the problem but didn't. I knew that it was something to do with power management, so I checked my settings and it was set to energy saving. When I changed to balanced remained turned on the wireless network adapter and I have not lost my network connection. I checked power options advanced for the adapter in symmetric mode and energy-saving wireless and found that Power Saver if it had set for the Maximum energy savings while only balanced if it had set for maximum Performance. The setting for maximum energy savings, it is this that kept disable the wireless card with after several minutes, I changed it to the following configuration, low energy and my without thread remains active and I don't lose my network connection. So for anyone else having problems with the loss of their wireless connection, try to check your power management settings.

  • WiFi turns OFF

How many people have an iPad 2 air that has a wifi that turns off itself? Not disconnected, but literally the wifi switch must be off by itself?

Apple does not seem to acknowledge this problem as a known problem. They advise to check routers, reinstall your iOS, etc, but I've seen enough forums with users that describes exactly what I saw. The Wifi in the settings switch turns OFF by itself. Some users have reported that if this happens, put iPad in airplane mode and the wifi goes on. Now how weird is that? Except that... it works!

Apple has been kind enough completely exchanging my three month old iPad, as I had lots of help online with Apple in the record. I won the new iPad and within two days, he was doing the same thing.

And the thing about airplane mode turn on wifi back without touching the wifi settings. It's much too much of a coincidence for me... A second new device with a facility completely fresh iOS does the same thing, the same thing that many users report online and same setting change apparently independent (airplane mode do wifi works;) Airplane mode is to stop wireless features!) fix it... temporarily btw.

It seems obvious that an iOS glitch is behind it, or a hardware problem and Apple and the forums that follow (influence?) Apple needs to recognize that.

An iPad that turns off wifi sort of defeats the purpose of a tablet device. PS cell phone users: if cell is lit when this happens, you start to use data like crazy if you are at home and unsuspecting, you are in streaming and download and NOT connected to wifi. Beware! Now, I resort to disable cellular data to avoid involuntary consumption of data at home.

Apple can you please aggregate all problems of this nature and get it into the hands of tech support. Again, this is all getting kicked out of a network; It's literally the cursor goes Wifi in settings without the user from doing anything that invites you to the OFF position.

Apple is probably not reading this... But I typing this on an iPad 2 Air wifi & model cell phone, and I've never seen this problem. That being said, I usually mode aircraft and Wifi enabled, in order to avoid the accidental use of cellular data.

  • Portege R830 - how to turn off WiFi automatically?

Anyone knows how I could make my WiFi switch off automatically when my R830 stops or goes to sleep?

My name in connected domain R830 take forever to open a session or to wake up when wifi is turned on when i ' n not on the corporate network. I guess that's looking for the domain controller. I'm told they don't anything about using policies and time-out settings.

Usually you would just tap on the switch to turn off the wifi and to avoid this situation, but because this function is accessible only through Flashcards, I did not have this option.
I can't think of all the scripts that would actually turn the wireless off automatically made - anyone have ideas?

The decision to quit to have a switch wireless hard on many models is very stupid.

    Hello

I think you're on the wrong track
The WiFi is turned OFF If the laptop is set to mode "sleep" or the laptop is off.

In addition there is no other possibility to deactivate/activate the WLan to use the FN + F8 key combination

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: WiFi will not turn off

Because of a problem with my modem compatible wireless (the problem being that its ethernet ports became defective), for awhile, I had turn the WiFi feature to provide Internet connectivity to my iMac.  Similarly, for the first time, I enabled WiFi on my HP Officejet Pro 8620 so I could keep a printing capability.

Once my new modem arrived, I restored my complete ethernet network between the modem, my iMac (and other devices) and the Office jet printer 8620 Pro.  Everything works fine now!

However, the printer Officejet Pro 8620 WiFi ability not shut down despite the operation by an ethernet cable and there is no WiFi from my modem.  I know the Officejet Pro 8620 always emits WiFi like my iPad and my iPhone indicate that it is.  As my wife is concerned about these RF transmissions that are on the other side of the wall adjacent to our bed, she asked me to turn off the Officejet Pro 8620 WiFi.  I've restored the "Default network" printer, but this is not the case.

According to the instructions of the printer, 'Wireless does not work with an Ethernet cable connected to the printer' However this is clearly not there.  How can I solve this?

Your WiFi is turned off.  Your wireless Direct is not off.  Disable wireless directly into the printer.   Info is in the User Guide.

  • Satellite L600: How can I turn off the Wireless Communication switch?

Hello! Would be very grateful for any help... After struggling for 3 months that I finally registered here in the hope of getting help.

    I have a new Satellite L600 / Win7 Home Premium.
My question is that I don't know where the wireless switch is to turn off COMPLETELY wireless.

Whenever I start the wireless (orange) light turns on automatically.
I have to wait until finish and turn off manually by Fn + F8.

When I opened ConfigFree (or doctor of connectivity), the diagnosis on the left bottom says [STATUS"switch of Wireless Communication: WE]
This tells me that the main switch is somehow always THERE.

Twice I called Toshiba and they couldn't find it either.
They said that the new versions of the BIOS does not...? And for this model, there is no physical switch built on the PC itself.

I have looked everywhere and did the following:

    (1) disable the adapter in Device Manager.
    (2) in HWSetup, where there used to be an option to click on the switch wireless off, he's gone.
    (3) I went into the BIOS setup and could find nothing remotely related to without wireless/bluetooth to switch.

I wonder why there is a wireless laptop with light permanently? But if it is enabled, there must be a way to turn it off. Press Fn + F8 every time at startup is not a long-term solution because the risk is that I'll forget someday).

My last laptop was hacked until it's an absolute priority that I know how to disable all wireless functions. So even if I have to do through the commands, I'll try it. In addition, I do not know if anyone else experience the same thing with this model, or is it a default of my particular PC?

Any help or even experience will be much appreciated, thank you.

I disabled the card in the Device Manager.

When I opened ConfigFree, connectivity doctor tells me the Wireless Communication switch: WE

    > My question is that I cannot find where the wireless switch is to turn off COMPLETELY wireless.

There is no hardware switch that would allow to enable or disable the WiFi network.
WLan can be turned on and off using the FN + F8 key combination.

    > When I open ConfigFree (or doctor of connectivity), the diagnosis on the left bottom says STATUS\ ' Wireless Communication switch: on it tells me the main switch is somehow always WE.

What is the status of the WLAN if you check in network connections?
The WiFi network is always on?
If not then the WiFi connection turned off and I wouldn't be worried by the fact that ConfigFree says that it s THERE.

Of course, you can disable the wireless network adapter in Device Manager. Just mark the Wlan card under network adapters and turn off your device. But believe me; It s enough to do using FN + F8 ;)
