Will be vSPhere Hypervisor key will operate the custom provider OEM ISO ESXi image?

Hello

I tried to download the vSphere Hypervisor 5.5 and 6.0 towers as ISOs and start on my system, or afficheraient hard drives in the systems.

Systems are servers HP DL380 Gen9 I know are on the HCL.

Is it permissible to use a custom provider OEM image with key vSphere Hypervisor (free)?  Or is it not OK to do it legally?

In other words - should I take the vSphere Hypervisor ISO and customize it by injecting appropriate inside drivers so it does not work to use the free key?

Thank you

Big_Daddy68

You can use the custom provider OEM image to build. No problems.

If you extend until vcenter and connect, it will take the new keys for him can enter your CV.

  • Win764() (64) on host WS9 will operate the free guest (64 | 32) Win8?

I am running Workstation8 presntly (64) on my Win764() host. (I invited mainly linux distributions, which so far work fine for my needs).  I am interested in the guest the latest / free Win8 (whatever it's called now).  I have the impression that the product Workstation8 is missing some necessary drivers (and/or workaround to manage the schema lock of Microsoft new Win8 anti-linux BIOS/UEFI) to do... but Workstation9 provides these drivers and alternatives (and other new goodies too).  I'm not sure, though, according to what I read on whether or not it is possible Win8 comments under a multitude of Win7.  If I invested the cost of upgrade $ 119 for Workstation9... This will buy me the immediate possibility of comments at the latest / free Win8 under my Win7/64 present host?

    Hi goodbot,

You seem to have been misinformed about Secure Boot:

Secure boot does not specifically prevent systems different operating coexist on the same HD.  With Secure Boot UEFI firmware, however, will block 'unknown' operating systems and OS installers (and malware!) of current initialization, unless the user takes additional steps in the firmware either disable Secure Boot or add the 'unknown' for the firmware OS that it becomes known and therefore updated.  If this OS is installed on the same disk as another operating system is irrelevant - the decision is simply one of something that has "approved" loading against refusing to load something that has "not reliable."

64-bit Windows 8 flavors are capable of using Secure Boot when it is started in UEFI mode on a platform with a UEFI firmware capable of Secure Boot and Secure Boot enabled in the firmware.  When you install in a virtual machine, your host (BIOS/UEFI) firmware is not relevant - all that matters is the firmware of the virtual machine.  When you install any version of Windows 8 on VMware Workstation, we use the BIOS firmware in the virtual machine (not the UEFI firmware), so Secure Boot do not enter the picture: it is totally inactive, and so we did not have (or need) no "work around" for her.

There is a lot of misinformation on the Internet around Secure Boot.  There seems to be a lot of reasons to dislike it and very few reasons to like it (unless you're Microsoft, I guess...), but it shouldn't be the scapegoat here.

As long as you use a recent version of the workstation and a recent version of Windows 8 and all the relevant requirements of system (CPU, RAM,...), I think that you should have no difficulty getting a Windows 8 VM's.  We made a few changes compatibility for Windows 8 comments support, but nothing to do with Secure Boot.

    See you soon,.

  • Problems with the installation or after a simple installation of vSphere Hypervisor

    Hello

I'm just testing vSphere hypervisor and went through the VirtualCenter installation program. I made the simple installation. I recently had a class on the hypervisor, so I thought I would give it a shot with a testlab. So far, turn not 100% great. After the simple installation on Windows Server 2012, I'll log on to the device of vCenter Server (5480) and get "this webpage is not available". It seems that I can't access anything that has to deal with vcenter server. The only thing that I know that I can access is the vSphere Web Client to manage hosts, in which he tells me to connect to vCenter server...

I have install it on 1 virtual machine. Any suggestions? Please tell me if you need more information.

    Community of VMWare YOU thanks.

Have you tried to access the vCenter Server by using its URL with port 9443 and the username that I mentioned in my previous answer?

  • Can't active VMWare vSphere Hypervisor 6.0

So I registered on the Web site, go to downloads > free downloads > vSphere Hypervisor and I downloaded the VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.0 and installed on my server.  On the same page that the download link, it gave me a license key to use.  Then, I downloaded the client and connected to my server.  After login I get a pop-up stating "your evaluation license expires in 60 days.  There is a blue link that says: 'Assign a license to the ESXi host' but when I click on it, my browser opens and need me just to the home page of VMware.  If I click OK and that the box disappears, then there is no place on the interface for me to register the product.  What I'm missing here?  Screenshots included

And I literally just thought to it right after I posted this.  I had to click on inventory > Configuration tab > features licensed > Edit > assign a new license key to this host.  Not sure why they bury him like this, but happy, what is done today.  Thank you

    Thank you very much

There is no difference between the free or paid version compatibility... so, if you want to check compatibility for ESXi 5.5 Update 1 free hypervisor, just check for the compatibility of ESXi 5.5 Update 1.

  • How to get the values of page jspx (view layer) to the custom method defined in AM

    Hello

I have 1 text field and 1 submit to homepage.jspx. When I click the button submit, it will call the custom method defined in the 'Module of the Application' java class (ApplicationModuleImpl.java). Can I know how to get the value of this text field in this custom method.

I used the getter and setter method, however it didn't work as it is defining the value correctly, but get method returns null. Its not allowing to use FacesContext. Could someone please tell me how to get the value of the text field to this custom method (that is, using ADFContext,... something like that)

Yes. You can add in system preferences > keyboard > text.

  • After modification of the material or adding hardware: will be the key to license still work?

Hello. I have a dvd of Windows XP SP3. I was wondering what material I can add in the machine. Is there a limit? I would keep the motherboard.

What I know or I was told when I called Microsoft sales at 1-800-426-9400 licenses: when I add/edit I think it's 3 or 4 pieces of hardware - Windows will ask me to re - install XP. I then do the updates again until the most recent date. I have to re - install my malware and programs again, etc. Is there a limit to the additions? Because the rep said the license key is not valid, and I have to call Microsoft to set up again to $10 and the tax. She did her better with me, but maybe thought that I meant an upgrade I'll mention below. My motherboard has 5 hard drives, 3 more hardware pieces at the front, 1 Pcie x 16, 1 Pcie x 1, 2 Pci. In theory: if I added all this stuff here, XP would work or do I have to call Microsoft? Is this considered a reclamation system and my product key will work?

I asked if there was a limit of CPU?  I was told there are 2 changes: the rep said there is no limit.

I saw on a website a video explaining how to change your hard drive on a Flash drive. If I change the HARD disk to another HARD disk or drive of Flashhard in my copy of Windows Office work? Another version (Vista or 7)? What if I changed everything, as in my above question/example? This would apply to a laptop? (In the video, it was for a laptop). Or should I contact the manufacturer of my laptop and ask? Can there be a driver problem?

If I had to install a XP to Vista or a Vista upgrade to Windows 7 upgrade when it's compatible version: should I clean just install the upgrade? Or reinstall the original and then pure install the upgrade? Do I need the original updates to install upgrades? I'm under the impression just do a clean install and its good to go. But: If I've changed some hard-ware with the original OS, has been invited to re - install, validate the copy I have - so should I clean install upgrade? And I can do any hard-ware adds or changes later with the upgrade versions? The representative said no, validation would jump to the top explaining that the key doesn't work anymore.

If I installed an upgrade to an existing operating system and there was a problem for me to have to re - install the OS upgrade: How can I do this? Woud I first install the original? I have to validate this OS? Then the upgrade? Or just pop in the dvd upgrade and it should install as a full version? The rep told me on the phone that a message saying: I can't use that key, I'll have to call the get that he regenerated for $10 and the tax. What happens if I had to re - install and I used something like Norton Ghost? I can re - apply my disk image?

If someone had a motherboard with multiple sockets for processors (say two proessors can go there): can they change the processors? One or both? Maybe I've misunderstood this concept well.

So just the product key? with the reactivation...?

But is there a limit to how much I can add to internal?

What switch the hard disk of laptop or desktop (in case of failure or a newer more/better).

In the case of the OEM licenses, the license is valid only on the motherboard original (except in certain circumstances) - almost everything is up for grabs.
In the case of retail licenses, everything is up for grabs :)

I had a system that I built in 2002. He went through two motherboards, three (or was it 4?) processors, at least 5 hard drives and a variety of expansion cards up to what I finally put to rest a few months ago - I have never had to reinstall except when changing motherboards, due to the incompatibility between chipsets. The reason for which I put to rest was simple - I wanted to change was the case - and the motherboard in the cracking process. I'm saving for a new capable of running Win7 64 bit :)

The laptop that I'm writing this on is due for a new HD - when I'm close to it (he is sitting on the table) - because the old man is too small. I'll just copy the complete installation through a new, plug it in and I'm leaving - at least in theory.

Look here for details on the process of Activation, http://aumha.org/win5/a/wpa.htm , that article was written when XP came out
but is updated according to the needs.

  • When I perform "All delete and reinstall Windows" Windows 8, it will take the product key of Windows 8?

I have a TOSHIBA SATELLITE P850 with 8 windows pre installed. There is no Windows 8 key at the back of the laptop. Thus,.

    (1) I like to use 'remove all and reinstall windows' own 8. It will take the Windows product key? If so how do I get my windows key?

    (2) I want to put up-to-date then Windows 8.1. After the windows 8.1 update, my recovery partition will be windows 8? or 8.1? If windows 8, how will replace the recovery with Windows 8.1 partition?

The key is embedded in the bios. It is not necessary for reassembly. Your recovery partition will always win 8 after update to 8.1. You are unable to update, but you could reinstall 8.1 if you ever have to return to the factory settings. Do a recovery drive of the new facility on a flash drive. See all recovery options available in Windows Help.

What OS? If a Mac, go to System Preferences and check the box that says deal with F-keys regular keys (or something to that effect). This will trigger the F keys to be used in artificial intelligence.

  • 5 vsphere license keys will work on vCenter 4.1?

My attempts to record the vSphere license keys 5 on vCenter 4.1 failed with the message "License not found error 5 license file.

Anyone have any idea if this is due to the difference in versions (ie the vsphere licenses 5 on vcenter 4.1)? or is it perhaps something else?

No, the keys do not work.

You must connect to Vmware and manage your license, do a downgrade. (you can do an upgrade later)

You cannot use both licenses at the same time.
