Win 7 on a Machine Win 8

Hello

I am trying to install Win 7 on a computer laptop dv6 - 7247cl HP ENVY. He brings Win 8 by default. I change the BIOS to the "legendary boot" option setting It loads the Win 7 CD and install it. However, when the computer restarts and tries to complete the installation, I get the following error: "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

I think I thought he was missing a driver. I have download the RAID driver and tried to load before installing Win 7. However, once I loaded it, it disables the option to install Windows on this drive.

BIOS does not have a RAID, AHCI or IDE configuration. Therefore, I can't change that. Any ideas, please? It would be great! Thank you very much!!!

  • 18 Firefox does not work on Win 7 machine

I recently installed Firefox 18 on my Win 7 machine. It does not work properly. It takes a long time to start, and when it started it sticks when I move or click the mouse in the majority of web pages. I can search with google and go to pages chosen according to the data presented. But once I get on a page, almost any mouse action blocks it.

I went back to Firefox 5.0, which is the most recent previous version I can find. That seems to work perfectly.

Try the Firefox Safe Mode to see how it works there. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

How should I store (copy) the machine of my old messages OE on my old XP on a new computer (LAN), Win 7?

Also, is there an easy way to transfer my old list of contacts to the new machine (Win 7)?

    Thank you.  -Allen

First of all, Win7 has no e-mail client integrated so that you are using for mail?

If Windows Live Mail, here you go.

Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For Messages:

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

For WLMail 2009: Open list of Contacts in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

For WLMail 2011: Switch to the contacts window (click on the book icon to the address at the foot of the folders pane, or press Ctrl-3). Click on the import button, select address book (wab) Windows and point on where it was saved.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

    For the account settings:

In OE: Tools | Accounts, select the account and export it to the desktop. This will be an .iaf file. Copy it to the new computer and WLMail desktop: tools | Accounts and import the settings from the location you saved the.

I have 3 computers, two XPand running a race new windows 7.  One of the XP networking two machines (laptop & desktop) works very well & vice versa machine of windows 7 to a (laptop) XP.  The other XP (desktop) machine has become a boring nightmare that I can't access all the Windows 7 machine.  Two XP machines see via a wireless router and also see the Windows 7 machine. Despite the many FAQ, I can't yet the Win 7 machine to access the Office XP machine, although he "sees" it.  He gives an answer of "you are not allowed access-...» "Recognizing the computer name, but it grinds all to stop.   I guess it may be a firewall issue, but don't know what to do.  Any help appreciated.

    Hello

    Maybe this can help.

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Homegroup = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Network of home or work = fundamentally similar (and better) to the previous Working Group sharing methods which allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

To get best results connect to each computer system screen and set all the computers to be on a bearing the same name of Working Group , while each computer has its own unique name.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_name.jpg

Make sure that the software firewall, AV, or other security components allow free local traffic on all network computers. If you use the 3rd group of security, firewall native Vista/XP must be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted
Please Note that some 3rd party software firewall/AV/security costumes continue to block aspects of the Local traffic even it they are off (off).
If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic.

If you end up with the 3rd party software uninstalled or disabled, make sure that Windows native firewall is active

    ------------------------------

Network Win 7 with another version of Windows as a work network (works very well if all computers are Win 7 also).

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

When you have finished the configuration of the system, it is recommended to restart everything the router and all computers involved.

    -------------

If you have permission and security issues with Vista/Win7, check the following settings.

Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

    In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/permission-security.jpg

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

    * Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

    * Note . All the users who are allowed to share need to have an account onall computers that they are allowed to connect to.

Everyone is an account, that means a group of all users who already have an account now as users. It is available to avoid the need to configure permission for each on its own, it does not mean all those who feel that they would like to connect.

    Hello

Win 2000 has no internal support for the wireless.

In order to launch the wireless, you must use a wireless card that provides you with Wireless Manager and drivers for the card on Win 2000.

Once you have installed the drivers and the utility is launched, you should power set up the connection to the router wireless.

Start first with the security of the router, enable WEP, once you know that you can log in and access the Internet.

  • Difficulty installing and using HP printers on the same two Win XP machine

It is a question of both parties please.

I have two HP printers, a PSC-1400 and a C4280, which I connected to my generic desktop computer Win XP Pro.  I have always used the drivers for the two that come with Win XP and all two prints very well but I would also like to be able to use the scanners in the two that seems to require that I have install both disks that came with the printer.  My problem is that the discs do not autorun when it is installed and I do not know which files must run to start a full installation of the HP software.  Will someone tell me please where to start with the installations?  I have more printed instructions that came with the machine.

A second issue is that I actually have to run both disks for these two machines?  Because the C4280 machine is the most recent of the two, the software include and provide the functionality of AIO for the older machine like the C4280?

Thanks to all those who may be able to get me made in the right direction with this problem.

This announcement will close this request for assistance.  I have two AIO machines work enough for my needs.

To get this far I first removed all HP using my Revo Uninstaller and remove all residues that it found.  Then I took my PC to a Restore Point prior to my attempts to install my HP software.  Of course, I rebooted after the two actions.

Then, I created a fresh Restore Point and then installed the drivers and the base software for my C4280.  It is installed without incident.  No more fatal errors.

With fresh confidence, I installed the full package for my PSC 1410.  He hung up at the stage where he had to find the printer/scanner.  Knowing already that my PC could see the machine OK via the Device Manager, I replaced the printer USB cable but nothing better - the stage of the installation still does not see the machine.  So, I selected the option to connect the printer/scanner later and installation completely without more trouble.

Finally, I tested printing on both machines and could do it without problem.  Then I tested with each scan and was pleasantly surprised to find that two scanned just as they should.  At this point, I have no additional problems in this regard.

I don't know enough about what anyone to explain this sudden success but is not looking for any gift horse in the mouth and thus ends this request for assistance.  One respondent, I thank you a lot for your links.  You must me files downloaded from HP so I was not forced to work from the HP discs.

  • HP Officejet 6500 - scan of the computer has disappeared on my Win 7 machine and does not exist on my Win 8

    On my Windows 7 machine:

I used to be able to start "scan my computer" page printer to my control panel, but this feature has been moved (again), perhaps due to an update. Where can I find this feature?

On my Win 8.1 machine, where can I find a scan of the computer? Currently, I have to use an application of scan user interface modern stupid I have donloaded and installed from other Windows store. I would really like to scan to computer back.

In fact, I have to pay extra if someone could invent a computer that works the same way on the day the day.  I'm getting a little tired of playing with technology (PCs, iPhones, etc) all suffer a 100% failure rate.

Hi ou81aswell, welcome to the forums.

I saw your post about losing your computer option scan. I have some suggestions for you. I can't guarantee a difficulty, however, of course I'll try!

On your Windows 7 machine and your machine Windows 8.1: run the HP printer install wizard for Windows which will install the appropriate drivers.

In addition, reset the printer and make sure it is plugged directly into a wall outlet. Avoid power bars, etc.

  • Cannot access the name \\computer 0 error code x 80070035 using 2 machines Win 7 Professional x 64

    Makes me crazy!

State of the computer 1: Norton 360 on. Wired Ethernet for Linksys router. This Computer Configuration initially homegroup. User name and password on both machines. 2 computer can see this machine as expected - sweet!

State of the computer 2: uninstalled Norton 360. Windows Firewall is off. Wired Ethernet for Linksys router. User name and password on both machines. This computer cannot be seen by computer 1 grrrrr!

I left home group on both machines several times without success. Several reboots. Convenience stores are worthless. I tried a lot of things posted on this forum and others. My Win 7 machines see my XP machines without problem. All computers in the same workgroup. I can ping computer 2 1 computer and vice versa.

Earlier this week, it's the opposite problem. 2 computer could not see Computer1. Even old 'advanced sharing' has failed. After 3 days of forums and try things, I reinstalled Win 7 on both computers and everything was fine. Very painful and I am reluctant to reinstall all my software until this problem is fixed permanently.

Does anyone have a short solution to reinstall Win 7?

Any ideas why it continues to be? I set up a wireless network first network printer, and then wired, then to the USB. I uninstalled all the software of printer, but that did not help.

    Hi Jack_W,

Since you are able to see and access computer 2 1 computer and unable to see the computer from computer 1 2. I suggest you first with the computer to check if network discovery is enabled on the computer.

    To turn on network discovery

    1. Open advanced sharing settings by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type network, click network and sharing Center, and then in the left pane, click change advanced sharing settings.

    2. click on the chevron to expand the current network profile.

    3. If network discovery is off, under the Discovery Network, click turn on network discovery, and then click save changes. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Also, you can access the link and follow the steps and check if it helps to see the computer 2.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/why-can-t-I-connect-to-other-computers

You can also check if you can access computer computer 2 1 by opening with the command run and typing in the IP address of computer 2.

To do this, follow the steps in the computer 1.

    1. Click Start
    2. In the start menu search box type computer 2 \\ipaddress\ and press on enter for example: \\192.168.0.2\

Check if it opens and connects to the computer 2 in the network.

Also, you can try to start the computer in safe mode with network and see if they can see each other.  To boot to the desktop in safe mode with network keep tapping key F8 during restart. Once you see the option to start it in safe mode with select network and press ENTER.

Access the link to learn more about how to start the computer in safe mode:

  • How to download and use my Win 7 Pro prior in a Virtual Machine in VMWARE PLAYER?

before 3 years, I bought a win 7 pro PC - recently, I fee install 8.1... How to download and use my prior Win 7 Pro in a Virtual Machine in VMWARE PLAYER?

Unfortunately, you must have prepared a recovery disk in advance or use the one provided with your computer.

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

You can use this even as a method for having multiple images of different systems.
