Win 7 pro updates

Fresh installed win 7 pro does not get updates.

Help!

You need KB3020369 and KB3172605. The rollup of convenience is an offering as an option for the shortening of the procedure to update from 2011 to 2016.

But automatic updates must have the value "Never search updates" until 3172605 is installed.

I am rebuilding a laptop with Windows 7 Professional. The system has since reconstruction, frozen trying to analyze the system through the Windows Update process.  It is a reconstruction of the system in order to clear a Win 10 unwanted update.

So far, I did the following:

-Updated Windows Update for the latest version,

    -Run the update utility manual rebuild successfully;

    -Launch Windows Update Fixit repeatedly; It gives me a 0 x 80070057 unresolved error almost every time. When it fails, the update process still does not work and returns the error;

-Check the registry settings with regedit; There is no entry in the Windows Update of WKLM section with the error indicated, and a search of the registry shows no other parameters with this error.

    -A tried to perform the loading process of manual update for the massive update (KB3125574); This has exactly the same symptoms; It hangs and never ends with a 24-hour window;

-Run the utility of registry error correction; He returned without errors.

I did a number of other things as well. But the update continues to crash. Can anyone offer advice on what I could try, or I could do?  Assistance would be appreciated.

    Thanks Richard for the update.

  • Under Win 10 Pro, updated to v40.0; "Minimize full screen & Exit" buttons don't work. Re - download and re - install did not set; decommissioning of v39.0.3 fixed?

Windows Pro 10. Update Firefox to v40.0. At the top, buttons full screen and the exit on the right, minimize it, didn't work and hovering on any of them could not highlight the button. I have re-downloaded the update and re-installed, but the problem still exists. As a test, I tried downgraded to v39.0.3, which fixed the problem. I realize that the downgrade may pose a security risk, but it works, and not v40.0! Prior to decommissioning, I tried the customization option, out, re - click on the menu bar, but neither helped. What to do next?

    BOBHAKES said

In addition to troubleshooting: I opened v40.0 Firefox in safe mode, and the problem occurred is no longer. Then restarted, open Firefox v40.0, using the option "Refresh", and the problem occurred is no longer. After add desired Plug-Ins and Extensions (eliminating some older or infrequently used items), I restarted Firefox, and the problem no longer occurs. Obviously, the problem was caused by one of the extensions eliminated or plug-ins. No other assistance needed.

  • Can I get an installation Win XP Pro Update CD includes SP3? The one I have now is pre - SP2 and reinstalling the operating system takes 4-EVER!

My existing Windows XP Pro installation CD is almost a decade, and it precedes SP2. It's a nightmare, whenever I have to reinstall the operating system as ut takes a day or two to download Microsoft updates. Is it possible to replace my installation CD with a newer version, including a number of post-SP3 updates and SP3?

You do this using a technique called "slipstreaming".  You start with a genuine XP installation CD and add in the necessary service packs and updates.

If your CD-ROM is sp1 or 1A, you can just slipstream sp3.  If you have XP 'or' (pre - sp1), it is more complicated.

There are many websites that explain how to do this.  Google for "slipstream sp3 of xp" or something similar.

This site claims to have a script that will create a slipstreamed XP sp3 and all post-sp3 CD critical updates (description wrongly "sp2").  I the have not used and do not have any information on how easy it is or if she actually does what it says.

  • Win 7 PRO update

    Hello

I used Windows Anytime Upgrade to upgrade my laptop Win7 Home Premium to Win7 PRO. The process worked OK because I was able to buy the upgrade and receive an email with the key of activation - but the final step between 'Réception' and 'Upgrade' the Windows Anytime Upgrade broke down (on trying to print the receipt).  So I never actually pressed the button "Complete upgrade". When I ran Windows Anytime Upgrade again once he went directly to a verification process, and when I start the laptop, it appears the Professional Windows screen and under properties system he also said that the operating system is Windows 7 Professional.

I worry about never having to enter the provided upgrade key and I was wondering if there is another way to be sure that the upgrade worked, since I need to have Win7 PRO installed for a course I'm doing next week. I have to do something extra to activate Win7 PRO?

    Thank you very much

Sales of Microsoft ends Windows Anytime update in October 2013, so there is no way you will get it works now.

Your only other option if you need professional is to buy a version full retail or upgrade.

Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

    Full version (retail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

    -Expensive

    Upgrade version (detail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

-Expensive, but less expensive full version

    OEM System Builder version:

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.

    Greetings,

    Please read this.

You can wait patiently (updates will appear later) or there is a problem in the article.

You need to reinstall Windows for the fix. Your PC must be isolated from the network when reinstalling windows. You need to download both updates and install before connecting your PC to the network.

I used the fix of Ed Bott and it works. But I reinstalled Win 7 again. I wasn't going to wait for hours and hours to get the security updates.

You can try to install these updates on the problematic installation of Win 7:

    1. apply the Microsoft patch found here. Disconnect from the network.

    2. install the two updates in offline mode and cross your fingers.

    3. repeat on Windows Update.

    See you soon!

    Hello

    Follow these steps.

Go to Start, run, copy and paste this command, then click OK: services.msc
(Press the Windows key + R if you do not "run" in the start menu)

In the list of Services, see Background Intelligent Transfer Service or BITS ?

If it is not listed, please follow these steps if you have a desktop computer. If you have a laptop, go to section 2

Open the Windows search tool, copy / paste the following text, and then click Search: qmgr.dll

Research should show this file in the following locations:

    C:\Windows\System32
    C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\bits

I hope they are all present, follow these steps to register the service.

Go to Start, run , and copy/paste: regsvr32 qmgr.dll and click OK

Do the same with this file: regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll

Restart the PC and then copy / paste this command into the field run:
    %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\qmgr.inf

If you are prompted to insert the Windows installation CD, ignore this and in the dialog below, replace the path C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

The reason to change the path to the i386 folder is that the files that are there are newer than those on the Windows installation CD.

Restart the PC and then go to the Services and you should be able to see BITS in the list.

Double click on it and then on the general tab, click the Start button to start the service manually. This is just a test to make sure that it works correctly.

If you get 2 error: cannot find the specified file, click on start, then run again and copy / paste the following command, and then click OK:
    Tracking Add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters /v ServiceDll /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %windir%\System32\qmgr.dll

Reboot again and try once more to start the PIECES. It should work fine now, but in the unlikely case where it fails again, run the following command, and then press ENTER:
    Reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup

Reboot once more and then do the following.

If qmgr.dll is only present in C:\WINDOWS\system32, follow these steps.

Open the system32 folder, locate qmgr.dll, then right-click and choose copy.

Stay in the system32 folder and right-click anywhere and click on New, then folder. Rename the new folder into pieces (in lowercase).

Open the folder of bits that you just created, right-click in the right pane and choose Paste. You should see the qmgr.dll file in there.

Close Windows Explorer and then go to Start, run , and copy/paste: regsvr32 qmgr.dll and click OK

If you are prompted to insert the Windows installation CD, ignore this and in the lower dialog box, change the path to C:\WINDOWS\system32

Restart the PC and then go to the Services and you should be able to see BITS in the list.

  • Win XP Pro will download updates but install fails

I have a problem with win xp pro. When I download updates they will download but the installation fails. At the same time when I would shut down the computer, it would be the installation of the updates. Now she even won't do it. Is the a link to the updates, where I can download updates and install them manually? I think I did it once but I forgot to bookmark the link. Now all I get is there is no update available.  I have the auto download and install settings, so I don't know if I'll keep updating the value. Is there a way to check my updates are up-to-date. Also, I ran fixit and he could not solve the problem. Thanks in advance

  • Updating the measures for Win - XP Pro, SP1 to SP3 (jump SP2?)

I do volunteer work 1/2 day per week for a small organization non-profit organizations with a very limited budget (almost non-existent). We work in the given space, but have free access to the DSL service.

    We have the following...

    1 2000 computer HP desktop, Intel Pentium 4, Windows 2000, 256 MB RAM, 30 GB, CD - R, IE - 6 hard drive.

    2 2006 Compaq desktop with Win - XP SP3, 512 MB RAM, 60 GB HD, CD - R, IE-8.

    3. computer acer laptop 2008, Win - XP SP3 with 512 MB RAM, 40 GB HD, CD-R/W that works (depending on what day of the week, it comes), IE-8.

One of our local "family" donated the following for us...

2004 work HP desktop with Win - XP Pro SP1, 512 MB RAM, 105 GB HD (less than 30 GB used), CD - RW, DVD-R, IE-6,

-plus a new module of RAM of 512 MB which could be installed.

-a new, but not installed, updated graphics card.

These two were going to be installed, but the client fell sick and recently passed away.

While this desktop computer is older, it has been used very little, 'C' part of the HD less than 30 GB of 105 GB used, less than 2% of disk fragmentation, no scratches, dents, original basic mouse and keyboard... excellent shape.

In order to remove the HP 2000 desktop computer, I suggest the following...

    (A) delete all the old software, except the WIN - XP.

    (B) defrag the HD.

    (C) the Win - XP, SP1 rollback "original updated" status. HP support pages imply that he is a "clean install". HP has the SP1 of Win - XP original on a segment of "recovery" of the HD.

What else is necessary (I guess)...

    1. install the new 512 MD RAM module.

    2. check that the current power out sufficient to manage the 'new' graphics card (requires 250 watt power)... and install the new graphics card... or just stay with the existing graphics capabilities if the power supply is insufficient.

    3. update all hardware drivers.

    4. load Win - XP, SP2, and SP3... or just go to SP1 SP3? (comments, please)

5 install Internet Explorer 8... or IE-9? (comments, please).

    6. use of Win - XP SP3 and security center firewall... or install (?) for a protection antivirus and antispyware... suggestions sincerely appreciated.

7 install MS Office 2007 Pro (unused software, gift).

My dilemma... What is the sequence own/recommended to perform all these steps...

    A / B / C / D? and 1-2-3-4-5-6-7?

Remember that we do not have money for a new computer, but I don't have the time and (I think) the ability to perform the steps.

Thanks for your suggestions, recommendations and comments.

    Greetings - FLgal

Your Service Pack 3 CD contains the SP3 .exe Setup file, so you don't need to download what you fortunately already.

If you need to download this file, it would have been safer to do using another PC. But since you have it, don't you worry in this regard. :-)

So you're on the right track!

  • New system Win 7 Pro Builds - take 2 days of updates - SLOW

    Hello

We build Win 7 Pro SP1 machines for our customers on a daily basis. Each generation system is exactly the same with respect to the hardware and the OS.

Once the equipment is mounted, load us Win 7 Pro, install all the drivers, activate the key and then begin the process of 2 days to update the system before we can finish the build & ship to our customers.

There are usually about 230 + automatic updates who needs every machine according to the update of windows. We have 32 GB of RAM in each machine that we build during the update phase to ensure that there is nothing on our side to help make this process slower. (Our machines are rich in resources and very fast hardware)

When we launch the update, it will last for 5-8 hours BEFORE it starts the download/update/restart process. There is no possible way that we can maintain our customers in a faster way because of this process 2 horrible day. This process of 2 days is eating my lunch.

    Question:

Is there anything we can do to simply load the updates on our end - or another possible solution that does not require that us invest in a roll of enterprise quality cost platform?

Note: Starting tomorrow, we're going to experiment with cloning a fully charged & update Win 7 Pro Solid State HD - which has not yet been activated with the key. Once clone us the master SSHD to an another SSHD, we will then activate the 2nd SSHD with the appropriate Windows button, etc... Our idea is to just clone the master for the builds - then enable each SSHD on the new machine with the windows key is supplied with each machine.

Any ideas are appreciated - if our experimental is the better solution, please let me know.

    Thank you!

    Try this:

Go to Registry Editor: start - regedit and find the following key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdatemake a backup of this registry key and delete the key with its subkeys.
