Win 7 Professional inside VmWare license

Hello

What license is needed for implementation of Win 7 Professional as inside VmWare guest operating system?

It should be possible to move this virtual machine with Win 7 between several hosts VmWare - that a single instance will be clocked in time.

OEM license is suitable for it?

You need a license of Windows 7 professional full version retail or OEM System Builder Windows 7 Professional license.

However, I want to buy a laptop computer in the future, and I have a question: How can I sell my copy of Real Win XP Professional, second hand? After selling it, I want to buy Windows 7 for a new laptop. How can I legally sale Win XP ?

You have installed?  Which means that you went down and bought Windows XP all by himself in a retail establishment and it is a retail license, not a cheaper OEM license?

I asked a tech savvy friends to help me buy. He brought me a real CD, a product with COA and a manual Win XP key (they came sealed) and reception. It cost me about $160 (actually 7800 Indian rupees). I still have the COA product key, hologrammed CD sticker.

The CoA sticker wasn't on the hard plastic case?  Sounds like an OEM version - which once installed is "linked" to this computer/motherboard.

  • Windows XP inside VMware - not compatible with ImageX or WDS

I have VMware Workstation 7.1, and I have Windows XP Professional installed inside VMware. I tried to boot the system by using windows PE and to navigate the hard disk of Windows XP, but it has not been found. Also tried boot from a WDS server and the Capture Image Wizard has not yet shown a hard drive on the hard disk.

I tried with Windows Vista and Windows 7 and it detects the hard drive. I also tried to install Windows XP in VirtualBox and start WinPE and he showed the hard drive... This suggests that there is something incompatible with Windows XP and VMware image? Do not know what is happening.

Well you have Windows XP configured to use a SCSI hard disk, and you must have vmscsi.sys loading driver controller SCSI from VMware in WinPE or you will not have access to it.

    Hello, evrey body

    I bought a Toshiba A30-213

    Saudi Arabia Jarira Bookstore

By default this cam model with Win XP Home Edition

But now I want to upgrade to Win XP Professional

When I bought the CD in Win XP Professional to install it on my machine, he asked me a few drivers for hardware, but these drivers are not available on the CD that came with my TOSHIBA laptop.

And when I ask the Merchant (Jarira book stores) on how to install WIN XP Professional, they said, that Win XP Professional will not run in laptop A30-213

    It is amazing to me!

How THOSHIBA recommend Win XP professional and home edition in laptops offer?

And if it is possible to install Win Xp professional in my laptop, how to install it?

    Hello

Yes it is possilbe to ru XP prof on a Satellite A30.
When you bought the laptop, you have a CD of tools & utilities. There are all the XP drivers included and this CD can also be used to XP prof. There is no difference!

You must run Setup XP prof and do not install any driver installation. Then after completing the installation, you must take your Tools & Utilities CD and look for an html file. This file contains the proper installation order. After that, you can start to install the drivers in this order!

If you can't find all the drivers, that I could not brewed, you could go to https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com, Support & downloads and downloads Dirver.
There are all versions of current driver for download!

  • Installation of the MEM and VMware licenses

    Hello group,

If a client vSphere 5.x standard, that is not business or business plus. Can the customer install the EQL MEM module without breaking any rule VMware licensing?

    Hello

Joerg is correct, that VMware requires a business or company license + to activate the feature.  Joerg has mentioned in the past, he has seen work on other licenses, but I can't bring it to work properly.  Especially after you restart the node of ESXi.

It will show as enabled, but the behavior under is basically identical to FIXED paths.

If the alternative is to use VMware Round Robin and change by way of 1000 to 3/o.   Run this command to the shell ESXi.  Restart the nodes.

    esxcli storage nmp ATAS add s "VMW_SATP_EQL" - M "100th-00" PEI "VMW_PSP_RR" o "IOPS / s = 3" "". "

  • Access denied to the 2nd hard drive in Win 7 Professional 64

I installed Win 7 Professional 64 with two volumes (drives C and F) RAID mirroring. Everything was working fine and then all of a sudden, I can't access the second RAID - F drive. The hard drive (drive F) appear in the disk management tool and that it appears in 'Computer', but without showing any space on the disk. In the disk management tool, the drive and the space appear. Help, please

    Thank you

    Hello

    Sorry for the late reply.

I appreciate to the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far.

You can try to disable antivirus.

The problem can also be caused by your security such as anti-virus program or a firewall of Windows /Defender that can have conflicting parameters as to not not to perform certain tasks. I suggest you temporarily disable antivirus programs and firewalls, and recheck the result.

If the problem persists, you can do later on new security that you was disabled programs.

    Disable the anti-virus software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

If the question is to fix, I suggest you to publish the application on Microsoft TechNet forum because we have experts working on these issues.

You can check the link to post the same query on TechNet:

  • How to restore partition factory settings after installing Win 7 Professional and after having lost everything as a result.

I have a netbook with a partition that has win7 starter installed.  I unfortunately poorly installed windows 7 Professional and now have nothing available which was originally on the computer.  Everything was wiped clean including my ability to use / access my wireless, ethernet controller, pci, etc..  I tried repeatedly to recover the partition back to factory settings, but it won't give me the option to select the partition.  I guess that's because they are all two Windows 7.  Can you help me get it back to windows 7 edition starter of the partition so I can restore all the factory settings and programs.  I haven't lost any information or files that I loaded win7professtional as soon as I turned it on.  I have restore points, images, etc.

When I installed Win 7 Professional, not old Info windows.old file but I don't know how to access that is.

    Help, please?  Thank you

The Windows.old folder has two objectives:
    (1) can be used to uninstall Windows 7 and return your PC to the previous version of Windows.
    (2) contains a backup of all your files of data, documents, photos, Etc. from the previous version of Windows.

If you don't need either of these two options can delete the Windows.old folder. In your case if you can access the "recovery Partition" to restore the windows and then back the Windows.old folder before you begin.

Note: Option to change Windows Explorer to see the Windows.old folder:
Click on start and enter in the box "Search": "hidden" (without the quotes)
Click on the "Show the hidden files and folders" option at the top of the list.
    In the "Folder Options" window
Click the 'view' if it is not already selected.
In the list "Advanced settings" locate "hidden files and folders".
Now click 'show files and folders '.
    Then, disable the following:
"Hide empty drives in the computer folder.
"Hide the extensions of the file types that you want to know."
    "Hide protected operating system files"
