As always, you will need to purchase a separate license of Windows 7 for
each computer on which you install it.

Just as there * always * to * all * Microsoft operating
, it is necessary (to be in compliance with the EULA and the United States
Copyright law http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/17/117.html), if it isn't
on the technical side), in order to buy a WIndows 7 license for each computer on
which it is installed. (A lawyer versed in copyright to)

    Yes. Of course.

Yes. of course, unless you have an OEM BIOS-locked license that are
pre-installed with the purchase of the computer.

  • I tried to activate Win 7 Ultimate product key, but I get a message that says that the product key is blocked,

I had to perform a clean install of Win7 Ultimate on Win7Pro, which recorded data may in a window.old directory.   When I installed Win 7 Ultimate, it would install with Win 7 Pro installed, so I've had to do a clean install which has formatted the hard drive.

I tried to activate Win 7 Ultimate with the product key, but I get a message that says that the product key is blocked and I cannot activate my installation of Win 7 Ultimate.  What are the options?
One of the solutions is to re - install the original program, Win 7 Pro and then re install Win 7 Ultimate.

  • Once for all, I'll be able to transfer to a new PC or not? Retail Win 7 Ultimate to win 10

    Hi all!

I spent most of my night navigation on these boards, trying to find an answer to this question and found tons of answers, many condradicting between them and some even condradicting the EULA, so I'm stuck. I'm to the point that I think I know the answer but I havn't really got confirmation.

    Heres so the deal:

I havn't improved again and I plan to do more, but... this computer is starting to become old enough and I'm planning for a new build soon enough, don't expect that adequate material being released, Pascal ftw!

I don't want to upgrade my Win 7 Ultimate retail to win 10 just so he can be locked on this current computer specification, so I just keep my Win 7 cause frankly it has served me very well, but if there is a chance that, after upgrading my license will be mobile to my new future computer (that I will be buying in the coming months) , then that is a leap of faith, I feel I must take.

    Thus,.

IF I go now, I have 2-3 months will be able to use a bootable USB key with a Win 10 on my new computer image (after wiping this computer ofcourse) and everything will work?

In view of the many questions on this subject, I suspect you educated people are pretty tired of that question now, but please bare with me and give me some closure, I'm literally pulling my hair :)

    Kind regards

    Fredrik

  • Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 not recognized ZS running Win 7 Ultimate - 64-bit

    Friends,

I have a situation where I ask for a help. It's as follows:

    1. the old desktop that PC is equipped with a device for Creative Sound Blaster USB based - Audigy 2 ZS attached, it was purchased in August 2008 and since then, initially worked with Win XP (32-bit) - August 2008 to Oct 2012, then Oct. 2012 (when I upgraded the operating system to Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit) until last week when I upgraded the PC hardware.

    2. However, after the upgrade, the PC does not recognize this device shows at all - a yellow exclamation mark with a label "unknown device" in Device Manager, when I connect the device to the USB port.

    3. the last time (in 2012) when I upgraded the OS on the old XP PC to Win 7 hardware, the operating system recognizes the device even without installing the drivers (i.e. for Audigy 2 ZS of Creative) and he has been active (usable), as soon as I plugged the same. However, later I applied Win 7 64 bit drivers from the Creative support site. Now, even though I applied the drivers for Win 7 64 bit for the device, it is not recognized under Windows.

At the config of my old PC: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6540, card mother Intel graphics card Nvidia GT 220, some hard drives SATA 2 x 250 GB, 8 GB of RAM.

At the config of my new PC: Intel Core i3 (3rd generation), card mother Gigabyte, graphics card Nvidia GTX 650, SATA 1 x 1 TB hard drives & 1 x 250 GB, 8 GB of RAM.

I understand that this question, referring to the Creative device, should not fall directly under the responsibility of Microsoft, however, I looking for entries from anyone who may have any suggestions or is faced with identical situations / similar. Thanks for the patience to read this long query.

    -Milind

    BossDweebe,

Thanks for the suggestions. The origin of difficulties - the PC also has graphics card Nvidia GTX 650 and as part of the package of drivers for this graphics card, HD Audio driver (Nvidia) also was installing. This HD audio driver not allow Creative Audigy 2 ZS on USB to be recognized as an audio device. So I had to remove the HD from Nvidia audio driver and then install (an update) Creative driver for the device. It worked.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

  • I've set up the virtual machine in win 7 Ultimate and put some data. Now when I try to connect it asks password and does not accept any password.

Default password Machine virtual XP Mode

I've set up the virtual machine in win 7 Ultimate and put some data. Now when I try to connect it asks password and does not accept any password. Please giveme the default password

If you're talking about XP Mode the default password is XPMUser.  In general you can not use Windows without a password in Windows Virtual PC that you can with Virtual PC 2007 and before.  XPMUser is used only with the XP Mode virtual machine.  All other virtual machines requires a user created password.  If you have changed the password in XP Mode and forgotten, then you have to start over.

Windows Virtual PC is based on virtual server rather than VPC and all virtual machines need a password.  If necessary, uninstall the integration features, start the virtual machine and create a password for the admin user.  Restart the virtual machine, and then reinstall the integration features.  You will not be able to access a virtual machine created by the user that has no password, while the integration features are installed.  Once you have everything right, that a virtual machine will not be asked a password if you are the admin user in Windows 7.

  • Error message: "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows that you are using", when you try to run an old ms - based back program in Win-7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Original title: program compatibility Application Applications App Apps game games Legacy Crash crashes Hang hangs

I get this message when you try to run an old MS-DOS - based program in Win-7 Ultimate 64-bit.

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer system information to see whether you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher. »

I understand that I am under a 64 bit OS, but is it possible to get this program to run? I was wondering if anyone has tips :)

    Hi Bcopeland,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

Based on the information, you are trying to install and use an old ms - dos program based in Windows-7 Ultimate 64-bit.

The problem is a software that was created for Windows 95, 98, and Windows XP has no way to work correctly with an operating system that didn't even exist when the software was written. However, the error message you get normally means that you have a 32-bit software that you are trying to install on a 64-bit system.

You can check the compatibility of the program with Windows 7, in the Compatibility Center.

    Compatibility Center

If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

    a. click right on the program.

    b. click Properties.

    c. click on the tab compatibility.

    d. Select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever to use the system, the program was executed successfully.

Here is an article that gives you more information on this:

Make older programs in this version of Windows

If the problem persists, you can get in touch with the software vendor to see for the latest version of the program to use the same system of 64-bit Windows 7.

    Hope the helps of information.

If you need assistance in the future to resolve any issues related to Windows, post your query and we will be happy to help you.

  • Not to install the drivers for HP PSC 1410 on computer running Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit)

    Hi all!

I have been with my HP PSC 1410 with my old computer for a while now, without any problems. However, since the time I upgraded my computer and the operating system (Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit) recently, I find that, although the printer prints my documents and scan them in a certain measure, there is always an exclamation point icon that appears on the device, indicating that it does not work as it is supposed to. I tried to download driver from the HP site files, but the problem won't go away. Any suggestions, anyone?

Have you installed the printer according to the instructions from HP, which is to install using the cd of HP, or the full software from HP support features and only connect the printer when prompted, or just connect?

Despite this, Bitlocker reports a "Bit Locker has not found the drive of the target system. You may need to manually prepare your Bitlocker Drive.

Microsoft has been unable to provide effective problem resolution, even if we tried a repair of the operating system. "Microsoft Answers" Forum seems to indicate that there's someone else with a similar problem.

The machine was bought with XP Ultimate and updated fall last to Win 7 Ultimate (without any difficulty and necessary, wipe the hard drive.)

Of course, I can do a re-install and my data are presevered on a network drive, etc, but it's several days of work to install all my programs and data. I wish there was a shortcut.

The unfortunate aspect is that I "just followed directions" on the CD Win 7 Upgrade and the question is how to prevent that from happenoing yet once and where can I find the time.

  • Search in win 7 does not work

I'm running Win 7 ultimate in a virtual machine under Parallels on an iMac. In general, everything is smoothly for more than a year. However, the search function of Windows 7 is completely dead. It is not serious what I get or what directory I am, Win 7 is not even start looking. If I try to add a supplementary search as a date criterion, it does not help, either. Is it necessary to activate it first in some way? I checked under default programs in Control Panel and Windows Search Explorer says "this program has all its faults." What I am doing wrong?

    Hello

Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
Your index requires virtually no maintenance. However, if the index find the files you know problems must be located in an indexed location, you might need to rebuild the index. This can take a long time to complete, so avoid this step unless you have given the index enough time (several hours) to correct the problems first. To rebuild the index:
    Method 1:
    a. open indexing and Search Options by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Indexing Options.
    b. click Advanced Options, click the index settings tab and then click on rebuild. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/improve-Windows-searches-using-the-index-frequently-asked-questions
    Method 2:
You try to run the tool for indexing and search. Check out the following link.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-search-and-indexing-Troubleshooter

    Method 3:
