Is it possible to add comments in a (NOT for individual files) folder in Windows Explorer?

Thank you.

  • How to disable the "Fonts" folder in Windows Explorer?

    Hi all

I have a problem to deactivate the fonts folder in Windows Explorer.
    My question:
How to turn off or do not display "Fonts" in Windows Explorer my computer tab?

I think it is unnecessary because it already exists in the Control Panel folder.

If anyone can solve this, thanks in advance.

Windows customizes the Fonts folder and offers a special folder view that allows you to hide variations, such as bold and italics. It also allows you to change the display settings of the file in a way that is specific to fonts. If you remove the read-only attributes and the Fonts folder system, these custom display settings not available. For folders that you have customized by using the tab, Customize dialog box Properties of the folder, the folder icon and other other customizations may be missing when you remove the read-only attribute.

  • Email folder in windows Explorer

I have a new pc with windows xp installed.  Installing office 2003.  I use outlook as my e-mail program, and it is set as the default e-mail program.  When I try to send a file or folder in windows Explorer, that he insists on making mail direct fire.  Why and how can I turn this off.  As it is I go into outlook and attach each file individually to an e-mail message to send.  It wasn't the case with my old pc running xp and office 2000.

    Useful, but not the answer.

  • New folder in Windows Explorer is not visible until I press refresh

    Hello!

If I create a new folder in Windows Explorer to a network drive (which is a DFS share) under Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, the new folder is not visible until I have press F5 (refresh). Is there a fix or a solution to this problem?

    Thank you

    Kampi

    Hi kampi,.

You can wait for a while and do not try to rush by pressing f5, because it can take a while to showup on network drive.

To work around the problem, you can try to disable the Client of Microsoft Networks in the LAN connection properties

    a. open management of network and sharing Center.

    b. go to the Local network connection and click Properties.

    c. clear the Client for Microsoft Networks option and check.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • How can I sort a list of emails in chronological order in a folder in Windows Explorer

I copied about 20 emails from my Outlook 2010 Inbox to a folder in windows Explorer.

It's all in date order when it is in Outlook, but when they are copied to a folder, they acquired all the same date and time and therefore reodering by impossible date.

I had to open each email to get the date that I then used to rename the e-mails as in the following example:

    09.09.15 - smells filename1

    08.08.15 - smells filename2

    03.09.15 - recD-filename3

    10.07.15 - recD-filename4

What I want to do is kind of these emails according to the new file name. However, when I select sort by "name", instead of form the following list by MY date, i.e.

    10.07.15 - recD-filename4

    08.08.15 - smells filename2

    03.09.15 - recD-filename3

    09.09.15 - smells filename1

the order of the list remains more or less the same as if the date that I inserted at the beginning of the file name isn't being recognized.

If anyone can help with the material?

    Thank you

Sending the files Outlook as to the Ombudsman .msg files is not a good idea. You need to send in the form of .pdf files for anyone to read. Free programs like PDF24 will generate .pdf versions.

  • What happened to the button ' Up a folder "in Windows Explorer?

Starting with Windows Vista, the button "level up a folder" was deleted!  I found this button VERY useful and I am VERY disappointed he isn't there anymore... This has considerably slowed my production speed!

The next image in the Windows XP Explorer, near the top right of the ' Previous/next' buttons and the button 'Search', you see a folder with a green arrow pointing up.  Clicking this button makes the Windows Explorer to go "to the top level of a folder" lead you to the folder parent from your current location:
In the next image in the Explorer of Windows 7, you can see the button "level up a folder" has been removed:
Is it at all possible to return this button please?  This will greatly improve my production speed...
(Whenever I click on a 'Find a file' button in Windows 7 Explorer starts to the last folder I was watching and I often just want to go 1 or 2 levels higher than that, records but the only way to get that start completely at the beginning of the C: drive and go through all the files to get there, which can become VERY tedious because I find myself browsing for files 50 times / day simply because) the button ' up a folder "is missing...)

When they returned to Windows 8. I have not seen! It would be great!

I have Windows 8.1 and it's there.  8.1 is free if you have 8.  Just Google it. :)

This looks like a problem with the Extension of Shell.

To resolve, download the freeware "ShellExView".

When you run it, it will give the list all extensions of shell on your computer.  You start by selectively the deactivation and activation of extensions until you find the (s) which is causing your problem.  Start by turning off all non-Microsoft (right click on a line-> disable) extensions and see if your problem persists.  If it isn't, then re-enable the disabled in small groups until you narrow down which is causing your problem.

You have a folder called folder.

You have a sub folder called folder B.

In windows Explorer if you have the one selected folder is it possible to view the contents of the folder B then that file is still selected?

  • Kill the "My Documents" folder in Windows Explorer for XP

Whenever I have called Windows Explorer in my copy of XP and then click on 'Files', the 'My Documents' folder is displayed.
Except that I do not use it and don't want it.
I tried in vain to get rid of him, but when I right click on it and press DELETE, it tells me that the content will not be deleted, only the icon, which would be nice.  But it's that - the icon remains.

You can't delete My Documents. This is a directory on the system. If you want Explorer to open up My Documents, you can change the shortcut to Explorer as follows:

Go to programs > Accessories - right click on the Windows Explorer icon, select properties and type or copy / paste the following text in the target box:

    % systemroot%\EXPLORER. EXE/e, c:

This will open the Explorer to C:\. You can also create a desktop for Windows Explorer with the same command icon. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

When you open the video files that display thumbnails, the codec is used to create the thumbnail for the videos it decodes. A work around for this is to change the display of files of other tiles. You can try to reinstall your codecs or download other codecs, do a google search and download only from trusted sites. You might have added new video file formats, and you need the codec for this video format.

  • Change the folder on Windows Explorer.

How can I change the folder that opens at the start of the Explorer?

Click on the round of Windows (start) > all programs > Accessories and make Windows Explorer right click > properties > Shortcut tab and change the target in a box to where you want Explorer to open, for example to open the Documents folder, type (or change) the following %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe C:\Users\your user name\Documents\ then apply, OK, etc..

  • Can't open my pictures folder - message "windows Explorer has stopped working"!

I have a Toshiba Satellite A305 (Harman/Kardon) with Vista Home Premium, 32-bit operating system.  For about a week now, I can not access my photos folder.  When I try to open I get a message telling me that Windows Explorer has stopped working, then another telling me to restart.
I ran a full scan with my Norton program but no virus found.  Following the suggestions made on this forum, I have disabled all non-Microsoft software but still getting the same message.  Run the File System Check and after that 'complete 100% verification' I received a message that: "Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to solve some of them."
What does that mean?  How can I find out what files are corrupt? How can I fix it?

He also said that the details are included in the CBS.log windir\logs\cbs\cbs.log journal
I tried to get more details of cbs.log (according to the directions on this site), but when I type the command I am told to type, nothing happens.
I don't know what else to try.  Help!
