Win7 File Explorer folder Expand - tour of the skill

How can I activate the 'function' in Win7 where he is trying to be smart whenever you expand a folder (double click on the folder in the tree)... it jumps upwards or downwards and it's embarrassing.

Recently, I found this option as enabled by default, so I disabled it, hoping it would solve my problem, but it didn't.
I don't know how to explain the problem, so I don't know what to look for.
Let's try again: :)

Let's say I want to click is in the middle of the screen and I double click on the folder in the left pane (or even simply by clicking the Expander icon).
Explorer, believes that the scrolling of the display of the folders to the top (meaning my file is now down) is a very good idea.
Hope that makes more sense. :)

You can try clicking the sign + to develop their place.
I always did like that so it's natural for me.
I never have the issue you describe.

But I love the label of 'intelligence' you gave.
I guess we need a registry key that says "intelligence = we ' ;-) VP Tech Services

I need a solution for the problem below.  I have seen that other people have experienced the same problem but I couldn't find a solution.

I've set up a GPO that synchronizes user files to a network, for example, the My Documents folder location.  The client machine is running W7 Pro x 64.  Assume that the primary user of the machine is user1.

Sync Center displays an error.  The error reads 'Documents. (\\Server\Profiles$\User2).  Access is denied. »

Obviously, the problem here is that despite being connected as long as User1 tries to synchronize the user folders to other profiles on the computer the folder redirection, whether they are connected or not.

We never seen this before and if so has anyone ever managed to find a solution to this problem on a shared machine?

  • Look a DNG in the file Explorer Windows 8.1 as the image thumbnails... How to proceed?

Does anyone know why you can't display RAW .dng thumbnails of image files in the file Explorer Windows 8.1 even with the Microsoft Camera Codec Pack installed.

Other RAW files appear as thumbnails without problem (e.g. Nikon. NEF files). I could see dng thumbnails in Windows 7, but not with Windows 8.1. Perhaps, Adobe did not share the appropriate information. for Microsoft to get there?

See if you know how to see the dng thumbnails and can help me to do the same.

I know this thread is a bit old, but sometimes 2nd research google (15/07/15).

This Adobe DNG Codec works in point 8.1.  Its slow generate thumbnails, as against cr2 but works.

  • Satellite L630 - how to rename files or folder in the Start Menu

I used to rename files and folders by clicking the right button of the mouse or touchpad set and choose Rename.
With my new Satellite L630, if I click on the right button, the menu with the options does not appear.

It does not appear when I right-click on ay other file or folder, but not in the start menu. I can also drag an item any within the start menu.
So I can not at all to customize (already tried with F2, does not or)

What should I do to rename, drag the items from the start menu?

Thank you for your kind contributions,
    Walter

    Hi mate

I assume you are using Win7. Right?

Cannot rename files (programs) that appear in the Start Menu.

    You can ONLY rename folders.
If you click on all programs, then you should also see some folders there.
Right click on the folder and you should see the option rename.
Choose this option and then you should be able to rename the folder

  • Choose the file or folder dialog box?

Is it possible to get an open/choice dialog (via the button) which will allow the user to select a folder or selections several files?

I tried to use File.openDlg (), File.openDialog (), Folder.selectDlg () and Folder.selectDlg (), but these methods only appear to allow the user to select the type of object associated with the method (i.e. File.openDlg () only allows the opening of a file, and Folder.selectDialog () only allows the selection of a folder)

The documentation states that the Folder.selectDialog ():

Opens the dialog of exploration of a built-in platform-specific files and creates a new file or folder object
for the selected file or folder. Differs from the selectDlg() method object because it is not
    pre-select a file.
If the user clicks OK, returns an object file or folder for the selected file or folder. If the user cancels,
    Returns a null value.

However by using the following code, I get the dialog box, but the individual files are dimmed:

    Choose_btn.onClick = function(){
            Folder.selectDialog();
    }

var fileOrFolders = File.openDialog (undefined, undefined, true)

The user who will select several files or folders and return an array of file or folder objects. Your code would have to check each item to see if it's a folder or in the case of a file, it is an image file is valid.

  • Unable to encrypt the file or folder

    Separated from this thread.

Hi, I use windows 8 as well and I am unable to encrypt a file or folder. pls I need the steps to follow that

    Hi TeejayR,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

Please answer this question to get more clarity on this issue.

    • What software do you use to encrypt the file?

You can use BitLocker Drive encryption to protect your files on a disc. BitLocker can help the hacks to access the files on the system, that they rely on to discover your password, or to access your drive by physically removing from your PC and install it in another. You can always connect to Windows and use your files as you normally would.

  • French names for applications 'Windows Explorer' and 'File Explorer '?

I'm updating documentation and noticed that "Windows Explorer" (win7) and 'File Explorer' (win8) are mentioned in the French translations.

When you use the french language pack, these applications use the English names, or is there the French names for them?
    Thank you.

    Hey,.

-Are what documents you referring? Personal work or associated Windows?

-What version of Windows is installed on your computer? Is - this Windows 7 or Windows 8?

If you have installed the French language pack, then some of the applications (Windows 8) will be displayed with the french names and rest will appear in English because the version of Windows installed on the computer will be in English. If you have installed the version French of Windows, then the interface of Windows will be in french, and if you add an English language pack, then some of the apps will appear in English.

So, if you don't want the french names on applications, then please check the language packs installed (and the current language pack used) and change it to English.

  • Error copying file or folder

    Hello

I tried to copy and open an Excel file from a floppy disk 3,5 '' diskette in Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3.
I get the following error message: "error copying file or folder: can not copy the MEASUREMENTS: cannot read the source file or disk.»

What is the problem with this Excel file? This file is corrupt?

A lot of help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Sincerely,
    Egan

Yes, the file is probably corrupted. Diskettes - now an obsolete middle - are fragile and often unusable. You can try the disk in the computer of a friend to see if it is readable. If this is the case, copy the file on hard drive of the friend and from there to a USB key. If the disk is not readable in the friend's computer, throw it away. • Accessories folder is missing from the Start Menu

Hello - I just bought a new CPU with Windows 7 Home Premium installed.  When I started to use the system, I know that the traditional Accessories folder which usually includes tools system and other files/folders was in my Start Menu.  After using the test for some time and the installation of many new programs, I noticed that the folder is missing.  Is there a way to get this back in the start without a system restore, because who will cause losing me my programs newly installed what I read on other threads.  Thanks for your comments.

You are right that the system restore can cause you to have to reinstall your newly added programs.  Here is a possible alternative:

Restore previous Versions of a file or folder
1 - click on the Start button, then click on the "All programs" link at the bottom.  Choose "open all users".

    2. in the window that opens, right-click on the folder programs and then choose "restore the previous Versions. The Properties window may take a while to load in all copies of old available in this folder.  Is cool: these versions are in the same place as the restoration of the system of backups, but they allow you to restore individual files rather than your entire system :)

3 - Click on an older version of the file from a date when you know the Accessories folder was still there, then click on 'Open' and look around.  From there, you can with the right accessories backup button and paste it into your programs folder real (that you opened in step 1).

    I hope this helps.

  • File Explorer shows on taskbar, but it may never been seen

I noticed that shortly after that I upgraded Windows 8.1 little matter what I do, I can't view the file Explorer.  It appears on the taskbar, but I can never do appear to see.  I can't alt - tab to it.  I can't click on it.  I can't make it appear from the desktop or the start screen.  I can't press Windows-E.  Nothing works.  Nothing.  I'm amazed that I don't see something so fundamental.  I had installed FileLocator Pro after Windows 8.1 upgrade but I uninstalled.  iTunes updated, but it's hard to believe that would prevent work files Explorer.  It's incredibly frustrating.  I even tried old stuff like alt-space-m to move the window but that doesn't work either.

    Nothing works.

You have a taskbar, then explorer.exe should run.  Knowledge of what he can do.  For example Start Menu?  Run... dialogue?  Press Win - R if you can not open using a mouse.  In all cases, try to open a window of the Explorer via the shell: desktop (for example).

You can also do it from a cmd window raised with that as an argument.  Go to a directory where you can find so there is no question about your Path environment variable.  In particular, please note that when you open a cmd window high will probably be positioned to C:\Windows\System32\ where there is no explorer.exe.

To check that you can enter a pipeline command (either as root or %windir%):

    C:\>dir explorer.exe/s/b | find/i/v "winsxs".

Otherwise, given the expected directory you would be either in a high cmd window you can just enter:

    CD...

    and then

    Explorer.exe shell: Desktop

    (to run from C:\Windows\)

The idea of using a cmd window high is to maximize your chances to find a workaround and maximize the possibility of obtaining a usable diagnosis.  If you don't get enough clues to messages in the cmd window you already know in the case of transactions; even better run ProcMon to see what is happening and what is a failure.

Thank you for starting your own thread.  Clearly your symptoms differ significantly from another poster in the other thread.

  • How to expand bookmarks on new laptop Win7 64-bit? Can not find the file userChrome to edit (FF 25.0.1)

I have a file edited userChrome.css I took a computer to another that has parameters like the width of the column bookmarks in it. In the past, I just pasted in the correct profiles folder, overwriting the old, but I don't see any "usercrhome.css" anywhere on my C drive. I guess things are different in FF25 (that I just updated to this new computer). So now, how to expand the bookmarks column?

Do not use CEP Options > customize through the Addons Manager, this is for customizing the appearance of the extension of the CEP - is not for editing the files 3 'user '.

Press the Alt key to display the menu bar, and then click Tools. Use of the ChromEdit Plus > ChromEdit menu item and then see the userChrome.css tab paste your code in the box and then restart Firefox.

Looking at my history of folder in Windows 7, I see some files that no longer exist on my PC, but still appear in my story.  I would like to know how to get rid of them.  I tried to look in the internet options, as deleting the history of IE is the closest thing to you that I could find, but there is nothing there to affect the file Explorer.  Also, I couldn't find anything in the folder for this options.

Go to the following location on your computer and delete the contents of the historical record. And then check if your problem is resolved.

    1. Click Start and then click computer.

    3. Select folder options.
