WIN8: backup program and password at startup
I have a brand new model Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b013cl running under 64-bit Windows 8. Two questions:
(1) Win7 was a program of restoration that could create a disk image with full backup, but Win8 seems to have just a file by file backup system that excludes the files of the OS. A more capable backup program comes on this computer?
(2) I have configured the computer to not require a password at startup, but it is still asking one. When I start I see a screen with the date and time - I have to click on it and then the machine asks me a password. How can I go directly to the home screen when I start?
Your welcome,
I don't think that you must earn 8 Pro to save to an external drive.
I suggest opening a new thread with this question, which gives a better chance to see and to be able to give more information about the HP Experts.

MS complete PC Backup and Restore for Vista Ultimate backup programs and files?
I'm new to computers and there is still a lot to learn, I have an OS Vista Home Premium and I think to upgrade to Ultimate and I read that the complete PC Backup and restore can be used with MS Virtual Server to back up the computer. But what I read didn't specifically tell me if she saves some programs I downloaded, it says full backup but computer language being what it is I don't quite mean it as programs and files, which is what I'm interested in. So I can save my programs and files with this system? I don't want to go all the time, trouble and upgrade costs if I can only do half of what I want to do. Thanks a lot for any help on this idea.
Hello
When you perform a full backup of the computer, all programs, files and system settings are included.

Try to do a backup error and got 0x8100082f
Hello community;
Salvation;
My name is Robert, I need help. I have a hp pavilion 6000 p: model p6627c.
OS: windows 7 Home premium 64-bit sys. Processor Amd athlon (tm) he's x 4 635 4 core, 4 GB ram,
5.9 Nvidia geforce 6150 BIOS version is nforce 430 integrated video, level 2 cache 2048 kb 800 mhz
front side bus. IWAS trying to make a back up and obtained error, some files have been ignored. I also have a code
Cannot display mxl sxl format, I got an error code: 0x8100082f an attempt was made to load the program, wrong size, wrong image format. also the code: 0 x 8007002 and 0 x 80070003 no can find specified path. can someone help me?
I suggest avoid you the Windows backup program and you get a good commercial backup program. This forum meets for a windows problem reports. I know that I was very impressed when I tried it. Three I'm familiar with and like Norton Ghost (which I use for 8 years no 1 problem), Easeus Todo Backup free, you can download it from
http://www.TODO-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm and Memeo , which has 30 day free trial and you can buy it for $29.99 - you can download it from http://memeo.com . You can get Ghost for almost nothing (like me), if you look at the sales.
The March 2012 issue of PC World has been very high on the program FREE of Easeus and CNET. From my experience with a variety of configurations, I must say that I am very impressed. As Ghost will support up to a network drive and it will create a bootable CD for when your PC does not start. See comment by CNET of it to

CNET has a lot of reviews of backup program to
http://download.cnet.com/windows/backup-software/?tag=contentBody;sideBar .
Some of them are free (the last time I checked there over 300), some have free trials (more), and some are buying only (more than 200).

External hard drives are the best for backup. You can get a 500 GB one for about $60 and a 1 TB for $70. You can also buy a flash drive of 32 GB for less than $10. It is the best insurance you can buy ever!

Windows Update messed my username and password on all my computers savings program.
Need direction, I use Firefox as my browser and yahoo for my email. Since the updates for windows I can save is no longer my user name and passwords.
I understand the update of the program was done badly, it caused this for many people. This has nothing to do with the Windows updates. It is a parameter of Firefox. Go to Options, Security tab and check passwords do not forget for sites. If this does not work, you may have a corrupt user profile.

identify and eliminate unwanted startup programs
How can I determine if the programs that run at startup can be eliminated to improve performance? (win XP pro)
To identify what loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware of)
(Microsoft).http://www.Microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspx
With Autoruns, you can deselect an item, which turns off to
Start, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you
Uncheck youcan recheck to re - activate the element. It is much safer
approach than the registry change and better than using msconfig...
Another useful feature of the program is that you can right click a
element and select search online to get information about the element
selected.
Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell -
I use the pole NMH300 media and I want to create a backup process this file copies on drive Z (media Division) and Vista backup invites me for the username and password for the drive Z, which is funny because I never enter a username or password to access this disk , and the more I use a password only to access the media hub File Explorer but I've never had to enter a user name. What Miss me?
Thanks in advance.
Joey
The utility of backup Vista encrypts the data on the hard drive using the security feature of NTFS format and I think it will not be able to do that if you go back up to the mediahub since its already a different device with a different file for its Reader format. Vista Backup utility is intended only then to NTFS formatted disks so that it can encrypt/secure data being saved. Just use the NTI Shadow backup tool to backup your files, it's a good tool.
See you soon.

After Startup Repair Vista requires user name and password that never existed.
This PC has the power out (dell Desktop) new PS installed and start is caught in the loop and cannot start in safe mode either... all external connections taken off, but keyboard and still nothing. Now when I try to startup repair it goes but completely then ask user name and PW. It has never been so we're stuck with?
Keeps asking to start in safe mode or repair... loop endlessly. HELLLP!
Hi Norba_1976,
I suggest that you try hitting enter in the name of user and password screen and check if it goes through. If is not connected you then I suggest you to see the following sections which describes all the forgotten passwords.

Change startup programs cannot find c:\Program and NTDOSQ.dll
Original title: my computer has problems with programs and c: files... Help, please!
I have windows vista 32-bit. I want to open the start of changing the programs under control panel. When I clik above, it is you cannot find C:\Program said. Also, when I start my computer and everything is loaded to the top, a windo error appears and says, he could load c:\users\Alix\AppData\Roaming| NTDOSQ.dll
Before to try this I'm about to tell you to set a system restore point.
Your problem seems to be an incorrect entry in the registry. There is a startup item whose path contains a space (the space between "Program" and "Files" in "Program Files" and the path is not cited. Press Windows key + R. In the open field, type
Regedit
Press ENTER. In the left pane, expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then Software, then Microsoft, then Windows, then CurrentVersion. Select run. In the right pane, you should see the elements that run at startup. Make sure that any value that contains a path containing spaces quotes the path. Fix all the entries by double clicking on it in the right pane to open them. You should check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE as well. The same folder under this hive contains also start values. You can even see the NTDOSQ. The DLL value it. I searched this DLL and there is nothing I could find on the subject, so I don't know if his legitimate or not.

Hi VanHylant
When you use a Windows complete PC backup image to restore your computer, it is a complete restoration. You cannot choose to restore individual items and all of your current programs, Control Panel, and the files are overwritten.
