Change startup programs cannot find c:\Program and NTDOSQ.dll

Original title: my computer has problems with programs and c: files... Help, please!

I have windows vista 32-bit. I want to open the start of changing the programs under control panel. When I clik above, it is you cannot find C:\Program said.  Also, when I start my computer and everything is loaded to the top, a windo error appears and says, he could load c:\users\Alix\AppData\Roaming| NTDOSQ.dll

Before to try this I'm about to tell you to set a system restore point.

Your problem seems to be an incorrect entry in the registry.  There is a startup item whose path contains a space (the space between "Program" and "Files" in "Program Files" and the path is not cited.  Press Windows key + R.  In the open field, type

Regedit

Press ENTER.  In the left pane, expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then Software, then Microsoft, then Windows, then CurrentVersion.  Select run.  In the right pane, you should see the elements that run at startup.  Make sure that any value that contains a path containing spaces quotes the path.  Fix all the entries by double clicking on it in the right pane to open them.  You should check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE as well.  The same folder under this hive contains also start values.  You can even see the NTDOSQ. The DLL value it.  I searched this DLL and there is nothing I could find on the subject, so I don't know if his legitimate or not.

    Hello

The message means there is a bad path value (probably is something that must be enclosed in quotation marks). The problem is finding * that * one is bad. Try this way:

Click Start, and type Windows Defender, and then the . Click on tools, and then click Software Explorer. It opens for you? Hello

    • What were the changes made before the problem occurred?

I recommend you perform the clean boot.

Configuration of your system in a clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

I use Revo Uninstaller myself once or twice, but not because I could not find the uninstall/change options, but because I couldn't uninstall using programs and features.

  • Can't update windows like systems to give me an error that it cannot find a file and he needs me to insert the media.

Original title: re install windows 8.1.

I have problems with my computer and want to re install windows 8.0. I had upgraded my computer windows 7 to windows 8 but can't update windows like systems to give me an error that it cannot find a file and he needs me to insert the media.  I insert the windows disc 8, but the system indicates that it is not the correct information.  He is looking for another disc?  I created a recovery usb drive, but that doesn't seem to help.  I feel that I have completely new install windows 8 but I am nervous of course think I mess up something.  given that this computer was originally shipped with windows 7, I have to use the recovery discs I've done initially or is there a way to create new ones with the new windows 8?

    Hello and welcome!

If you are using a CD to upgrade of Windows 8, then there not all reinstall the files included for a full Windows.

Your best option is to use the recovery partition on your hard disk or the recovery CD from your PC back to Windows 7. Then Windows 7 SP1 upgrade and get all updates. Then, move to Windows 8 again.

  • For the installation of Visual Studio 2013 and 2015, cannot be "changed" dialog "Programs and features" in the control panel of Win7

In addition, Visual Studio shows a split second start screen, then disappears without any messages.

Moreover, the same result occurs if I use the installation for each program file. In other words, the execution of the installation executable starts the Visual Studio splash screen, then disappears.

No similar behavior occurs with any other executable installation files or the programs that are listed in the dialog box programs and features in the control panel of Win7.

Same behavior occurs in safe mode.

  • Try to change startup programs, but a problem with Windows Defender gets in the way.

I'm trying to delete a program to start automatically when my computer starts.  When I go to control panel and click "Edit startup programs" it tells me that Windows Defender is disabled. So I click on "put in operation and open Windows Defender" and get an error message: 0x800106ba

What is Windows Defender has to do with my startup programs?

I found a page that step by step has attempted to resolve this message error, but when I got to the step 2, clickStart, click run, type appwiz.cpl , and then clickOK , Windows Defender wasn't on my list to uninstall.

Any suggestions? I just want to stop a program from starting automatically.

    1. If you are using Vista, Windows Defender is part of the operating system. It can NOT be uninstalled. He lives and dies with the system.

    2. If you have the following antivirus (AV) installed, Windows defender is supposed to be stopped by the AV:
    Norton
    McAfee
    AVG
    Microsoft Security Essentials

3 here is another way to startup programs...
Start button > in the search box, type msconfig > press the Enter key > uac prompt > Startup tab > you can find the program it?

    4. If you have, see if you are able to activate Windows Defender long enough before your AV it stops again...

Start button > in the search box, typeServices > press the Enter key > scroll to find Windows Defender, click on it >...
topic status , it must be said... Has begun
under Startup Type, it must be said... Automatic
If it does not say that, right click on Windows Defender > click Properties > in the new window, make the necessary changes, as above > click OK when finished.

  • Error message when you try to change startup programs

Received error 0x800705b4 trying to 'change the startup programs '. When you try to change my startup programs, I got a message that Windows Defender is disabled. When I click on the button to turn on the Defender, I get the message "Microsoft Defender encountered an error: 0x800705b4.» This operation completed because the time-out period expired. "What can I do? Hello

MSE, AVG, McAfee, Norton disables Windows Defender program.

Is the proposed action and nothing to worry about.

To change startup on Vista via 'msconfig' programs is included in this connection method 2:

"How to check and change Vista startup programs"

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/79612-startup-programs-enable-disable.html

And this free Autoruns program is very good for what you want to do:

«This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows.» These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.

Autoruns' hide signed Microsoft entries allows you to zoom in on images of automatic start of third parties who have been added to your system and it has support for looking at images of Autostart configured for other accounts configured on a system. A command-line equivalent that can display in format CSV, Autorunsc is also included in the download package.

  • How to change startup programs, as MSE disables Defender?

    Separated from this thread.

In order to access the startup programs, Vista seems to need Defender.  However, since installing Security Essentials, I not was able to use Defender even temporary or offline!  How would I disable Security Essentials to proceed?

    Hello

It is not a good idea to go in this direction:

'How to temporarily disable Microsoft Security Essentials'

Instead of disable MSE to use Defender, use either of the following methods:

To now change the Vista startup programs without using Defender, use one of these methods:

  • Error message: "cannot find this file" and songs seem to disappear from Windows Media Player 11.

Original title: my songs seem to disappear from windows media player 11

I make a playlist and some of the songs come with a "cannot find this file" dialog box I click on 'place to open the file' and the song is there but will not play. Help, I'm losing songs at an alarming rate.

    Hi Akledge,

    1. this happens only for songs with a specific file format?

    2. What is the full error message that you receive?

    3. have you made a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

    Method 1:

You can try to start the Windows Media Player (WMP) Fixit from link and check if it helps:

Solve the problems of Windows Media Player video and other media or library

For more information, see the article:

Error message when you type the name of a file to play with Windows Media Player: "Cannot open file."

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, you can visit the article to rebuild the WMP library and check if it helps

You cannot view, add, or delete items in the library of Windows Media Player 11

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

  • Cannot find the shared library nilvaiu.dll and nican.dll.

I'm using Labview 8.5.1 on windows XP 32-bit systems. Recently, I installed labview on a 64-bit XP system.  I feel what I think, problems of drivers on the 64-bit system, now. When executable files are run files are not: nilvaiu.dll and nican.dll.  Someone at - he lived these errors and now where to find the latest 64-bit drivers?

Well, the list of drivers that are supported for XP 64-bit is quite short. And although NI-VISA, DAQmx and NI-CAN are not on this list, unfortunately.

  • Cannot find the function in the dll library

I'm trying to use the function I build in a C++ of Labview "Call library function" dll, but it cannot find the name of the function "Add" or "divide". Attached my .dll, file .cpp and screws, could you help me to find out where is the problem?

The only function exported in your original of the CPP file is the

    add_num()

function. Declare the object as static methods does not export them. It just creates methods of objects that do not have an implicit object as the first parameter pointer and so these functions cannot reference the data object members (but your class has none yet).

Essentially if you intend to do all your static class methods, using a class is actually pretty meaningless. You would be better with simple standard C functions as your add_num() function is.

  • How can I change the permissions for the program, I get the error message windows cannot find the target and II do not have permission to open any programs

I deleted a virus and now I can't access anything whatsoever, except by admin, and is very limited

    Hello

Permissions and security issues with Vista/Win7?

    Check the following settings.

All the users who are allowed to share need to have an account on all computers that they are allowed to connect to.

Everyone is an account, that means a group of all users who already have an account now as users.

Using the functionality of all saved the need to configure authorization for each of the established users, it does mean not all those who feel that they would like to connect.

Users who do not have an account on the computer are not part of the Everyone group.

If the LAN security is useless and users are not established, then move on the guest account provides the semi-open configuration.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-the-guest-account-on-or-off

    ---------------------

Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

    In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/permission-security.jpg

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

    * Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.
