  I have a Toshiba Satellite L350, I bought a few years ago

  Originally it was a laptop Vista Home premium and I opted for the Toshiba windows 7 upgrade and its been pretty much without problem.

  It's very strange that al recovery discs show the same error message. As far as I know when you start recovery image installation that the HARD drive will be formatted, new partitions created, recovery image copied to the second partition of HARD drive and as the last step is the installation of recovery image.

  In General, all you do is right. In my opinion, the problem may be recovery image itself or perhaps HDD has some defect in certain areas.

I couldn't find any good laptops with Windows XP so I decided to buy this model and it downgrade (seeing that * Toshiba Europe * had xp drivers). Everything was good XP (no need to diskette) installation, I also installed all drivers except one: the driver lan / wireless - Atheros AR9281
