Very often, it is due to an intermittent server problem and not a problem with your computer.  You should contact the provider of messaging and see there are problems.  See also if you can connect via webmail and if it works.  If so, then try to set up a second copy of your account and see if it works.  Also beware of interference antivirus: see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 and it can help to compact and repair the database of WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/)

  • Windows Mail error number: 0x800CCC0F.

    OT:Windows Mail.

Need help! I have Windows Mail with Vista.  My outgoing email is stuck in the Outbox with an error message: your server has unexpectedly terminated connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, secure (SSL): Yes, Socket error: 10053, error number: 0x800CCC0F my Inbox is very good and the reception of the mail.

Glad you solved it. Unless it was a problem with your server, I'm surprised WMUtil was not the fix.

  • SUDDEN question MS Windows Mail Security. I don't know how many years counts with Bellsouth / AT & T.

Cannot Log on to ATT email account. Keeks pop-up Windows security request my username and password.  Using my correct email address and the right password in the pop-up window will allow only connect to ATT once in every 30 to 50 attempts.  The error message in the task of Windows Mail window is the following:

Account: 'name', server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR [AUTH] invalid user/password (error 999)', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

AT & T blaims software Windows Mail bug because I can log - on to their service of webmail with no problems.  I have two 'alias' hung on the main email account, but they are not affected by this problem.  I can still access these messages through Windows Mail.

Search for program 3rd party interference.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 try to remove the att account and then close WinMail.  Then compact and repair the database by using my Windows Mail utility (www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/). Then go back to WinMail and add your account att back once again and make sure you get the user name and password the first time (if you haven't, then it does not stick).  See if that fixes things.  It could also be the ATT servers are somewhat sporadic, but if the web interface for the account works fine, then WinMail should work too.

  • Windows Mail error number: 0x800CCC0F - beneficiary account an e-mail

I have Vista, Windows Mail, and he worked for always without problems.  I use Windows Mail to retrieve electronic mail of three e-mail accounts.  The first two accounts always work - send and receive.  It hiccups on the recovery of emails on behalf of others (Comcast.net) and are not sent.  The error that says:

Your server suddenly put an end to the connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: "mail.comcast.net', server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): Yes, error number: 0x800CCC0F

The Windows Security window sometimes appears first, by asking 'Please verify that the user name and the password are correct for your mail server' with username and passwork promtps.  Then I'm stuck in a vicious circle of this.

I deleted my comcast account and recreated without result.  I have not changed the security settings.  Comcast said that I've put it in place correctly.  And it has worked for years in this way.  Any suggestions?

  • Windows Mail Security Popup

Suddenly, I get a Windows Security popup asking username and password everytime I try to send or receive e-mail in Windows Mail.  This information is in the account profile, the block remember password is checked, and there has never been a problem before.  I provide the security popup and check the block do not forget to send or receive.  I am then able to send or receive OK right now, but I get the popup again when I try to send or receive again.  Had a recent update that created this problem?  How do I return to normal email without the irritating popup every time?

    Hello JCSTE,

Thank you for your response back!

I would first try to test this by creating a new user account with Windows Mail and see if you duplicate the question during the sending/receiving mail.  If you do not have the same problem, then it could possibly be a corrupted account.  In most of the scenerios where I see what is happening to the user will create a new user account and then delete the previous class.

With assistance from the system restore, this might or might not solve the problem, especially if the account is corrupted.  But since this is a recent problem and I hope that you have not added new software or programs in the last few days so you don't lose anything.  Please let us know status.  Thanks again! • Cannot open or save an attachment in Windows Mail

    Hello

I can't open or save attachments in Windows Mail. I can see the attachment and highlight it. However, double clicking on it does nothing. Make a click right attachment makes appear an option "save under", but when I try to save it, I get an error message saying, "the command cannot be run."

I've never had a problem with Window Mail until yesterday. The problem started immediately after agreeing to compact the database of e-mail in Windows Mail. My Outlook in Office 2007 still works fine.

Now, I've read a few interesting comments on the Web about this issue. The tips are given is a variety of different bugs 'proposed '. To some I've seen:

    1. checking / unchecking option boxes withinin Windows Mail Security (does nothing).

    2. turn off your A / V by sending an e-mail to scanning or uninstalling your antivirus total program (at the same time - nothing has changed).

3 window mail accounts are corrupt due to antivirus updates installed (I have not deleted my accounts yet, but he can try it tonight).

4 Microsoft don't support Windows Mail, so install Window Live Mail! (this suggestion from a Microsoft representative real - I think it's very disturbing, because I paid for Windows Mail, which is part of Vista).

OS - Vista Home Premium (latest drivers and updates)

Anyway, if anyone has any info on this issue, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi all

As I was listing the foregoing, it dawned on me that it was perhaps related to the security settings for the "Internet" zone

So, I opened IE (8), tools, Internet Options, Security tab.  There, I saw something that I had not seen before, a checkbox titled enable Protected Mode; and it has been verified.

I've disabled and pressed to apply.  He tells me that my computer is in danger, and I agreed to that.

The drag-and-drop attachment problem is now fixed.

I checked IE7, and it doesn't have such a box.  Thus, the check box has been added with IE8, and its default value is checked.

I hope this is the last time that I visit this thread; But if it gets handed over by magic, I guess that I'll be back.

  • Problem___ Server I get this message if I'm in Windows is trying to send an email. Account: 'windows mail', server: 'pop3', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 11001, error number: 0x800CCC0D

The host 'pop3' could not be found. Please check that you have entered the server name correctly.

I get this message if I'm in Windows is trying to send an email:

Account: 'windows mail', server: 'pop3', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 11001, error number: 0x800CCC0D

Where should I go on my PC to fix this?

In this case, use the settings given here:

Use port 587 instead of port 25 of the SMTP server.

To give you a little history, Windows Mail does not support the HTTP messaging, which for a long time was the only authorized method of access for free Hotmail/MSN accounts. In addition, given that the development of Windows Mail was frozen in July 2006, there no knowledge that Microsoft has enabled POP access for free Hotmail/Live/MSN accounts in February 2009. Therefore, the Windows Mail Account Setup Wizard is hardcoded to reject the Hotmail and MSN addresses. To work around this limitation, when you enter your Hotmail/MSN email address, initially, use a fake domain, such as * address email is removed from the privacy *. After the account setup is complete, you can go back into the settings and correct your email address.

  • Error number: 0x800CCC0E in Windows Mail on the attempt to send email following October 2013 automatic Windows update

Immediately following October 10, 2013 Windows Vista update automated - 25 updates is installed on my Toshiba Satellite laptop and HP Pavilion Desktop - cannot send emails from a computer using Windows Mail - they return both the same error message: "failed to connect to server...". "Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10013, error number: 0x800CCC0E".  E-mail can still receive however on both machines.  There is no problem whether the sending of emails minutes before the update took place.  Anyone who has known (and solved) this problem?

Postscript: problem solved - on both my laptop and desktop, I discovered that under Windows Mail > tools > accounts > (my tiscali account) > properties > servers, the entry for the outgoing (SMTP) mail has been entered incorrectly as smpt.tiscali.co.uk.  This change of smtp.tiscali.co.uk solved the problem on both machines.

Windows Mail worked perfectly on both machines immediately before Windows update Oct 10 - so it seems that the update must have corrupted a file to install Windows Mail on my two computers.  Not sure how other users may be affected by this...

Perhaps Microsoft could take a look?

    Hello

    ·         Were there any changes to the computer, lately?

    Method 1:

    (a) start the Windows Messaging mail client.

    (b) click on 'Tools' from the main menu and choose "accounts".

    (c) a pop up will appear showing you all the email accounts in Windows Mail. Select the one that gives you the error and then click on the button 'Properties'.

    (d) another window pop up displays all parameters associated with this account.

    (e) under the "servers" tab check the 'e-mail username' and 'password'. One of them would certainly incorrect which translates the ID of Windows Mail error 0x800CCC92

    (f) to avoid having to enter the user name and password each time, check the box in front of "Remember password".

    (g) once you make the appropriate changes, click on the button 'apply' then 'OK'. Close the other pop-up window

Method 2: Remove the existing from Windows mail email account and create a new one following the link provided below.
