Window Vista to come as non-genuine

After having repaired my Acer laptop with a computer outlet, I can't my system because she asked for a recovery disc that I unfortunately do not have. I bought it with windokey numw pre-installed vista so I don't know his number ' cos its faded from my laptop. What can I do?

Contact the manufacturer and buying a set of recovery disks that will allow you to re - install Vista and that you shouldn't need the key of product if using disks (but confirm with the manufacturer before purchase you - every manufacturer is different and so be sure before you spend the money if you don't have the key).

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

This thread you latch on is almost 2 years.

Should have started a new one for you.

    To answer your question:

    > Do I need advocate? I use AVG free Edition 2012 and Wise registry cleaner.

1 AVG is supposed to close Windows Defender. This is because AVG has his own Defender. To have 2 defenders on the same machine will create conflicts.
Thus, you don't need Windows Defender if you moy.

    2. I HIGHLY recommend that you uninstall the registry cleaner.
In the hands of the users done computers, registry cleaner could be useful.
In the hands of novice computer users, it's a time bomb.

  • Windows Vista update causes applications non - IE to be denied access to the internet

I have a laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 unfortunately comes with a Windows Vista Home Premium OS that has caused me a lot of problems with conflicts between her and others, package applications, and now I am forced to use my network at home for route information and documents that must move through the internet by sharing them with another computer Windows XP which is also configured exactly as my Lenovo IdeaPad Y510. I look forward to wean myself off of all MS products, possibly other that MS Office, I use a lot and plays always well for me to wire many years and updates/upgrades. Not the same for MS Windows Vista, however. My experience, similar to many other forum users, has been constantly frustrating over the years I've had to deal with it.  I lost a lot of time dealing with problems caused by code errors in the last set of MS Windows Vista updates that made all my package applications that require internet access unusable.

I contacted the support of Lenovo and support forums for my problem, and they too cannot provide all the answers that address this issue that is causing me to spend much too much time I could use to work at a rate of $65 / hr, so you can see that this is not only an inconvenience.

Before someone points me to the myriad other similar positions for possible answers, let me say that I probably have alread read it and tried all the suggested actions, without success. I need to REAL answers and REAL support, and I need it NOW.  Also, I don't think I should have to pay for the support which has been made necessary by the negligence of MS to test their updates for compatibility issues with the popular, free package critical applications for the safety of MS OS system of a user, such as AVG Free antivirus, ZoneAlarm Free firewall personal , OR who are competitors for their navigation on the web or by email client applications. I am not now under the other another firewall that MS Vista firewall having had to uninstall my firewall ZoneAlarm Free. I even had one of my other previously compatible and effective anti-malware/spyware apps, AdAware, uninstall Lavasoft. No matter what I did, which was suggested to me by MS resources support or Lenovo support resources, this problem, which began shortly after the last round of all the months of downloads to fix security and facilities, persists and cost me more money in revenue and lost time every day.

  • Standard upgrade to a non-genuine Windows XP?

I did a repair on Win XP installation, used one of several legitimate Win XP Professional CD with one of my several XP license keys.
It was after a physical reconstruction, the new disk, the new config.
This version of windows has failed the genuine validation.
I tried a lot of mods of regedit, different keys;  none worked.
Support says Windows XP is not supported, in addition to advice would cost me $99 and I had to upgrade to a new version of Windows.

    Question:
A standard upgrade of Windows will work on a non-genuine Windows XP in base?
It seems that the 'Get Windows Genuine Online' kit is a clean install, I would rather not rebuild my applications and data.

    Hello

Thanks for choosing Windows and thank you for providing an opportunity to help you.

According to the description, you are having problems with the upgrade.

Run the MGAdiag tool; Copy and paste the full report to analyze the problem.

Unfortunately, a standard upgrade of Windows will not work on a non-genuine Windows XP in base.

Of course, it is more than likely that only some files in the registry or the system "ask" that there is a current installation. Where can I find these to remove them? Have not found anything on any forum re: this issue. TYVM<3!>

I see that a "MVP" edited the title of the question, but it did NOT reflect what the question. Please leave the full question in the title of the post. My problem is not a simple installation of 'failure '. I just want to find out where the entries are which are originally to show 2 Windows Vista o/s when I 'start' my computer when there are 'only' real installation. Note: I have two we HARD a WinXP Pro, the other Vista disks. At the start, it shows "Versions of Windows" and then Windows Vista and finally Windows Vista again. The non-existing o/s installation failed is the 3rd entry.

Modify the boot.ini file to remove the installation failed (make sure that you remove the right pair) or in msconfig, check the boot paths
